ItsEssexRob got a reaction from The Rising Sun in Liam Rosenior - Chelsea Head Coach *Now Sacked*Stuck my head back in here after a while to complain about this and Im not disappointed to find that actually the majority seem to agree.
Extremely underwhelming bordering on embarrassing appointment.
We, like United have accepted mid to upper mid table mediocrity for the foreseeable future.

ItsEssexRob got a reaction from Gordon Bennett in Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2023/24Am I the only one who would much rather Arse won the league than City?
I get there's a rivalry there, but seriously if this carries on City will end up the most successful club ever and in a longer time no body will know remember or care how it was done it'll just be there.
Would much rather see Arsenal do it.
I absolutely hate the EPL turning into the French German or Scottish league, with city winning it every single season by hoovering up all the best. Players.

ItsEssexRob got a reaction from ashwin in Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2021/22Luiz was nowhere near as bad as made out, and I fully believe his appearance made him more of a target. Plus his contribution to attacking play and penalties were excellent.

ItsEssexRob got a reaction from Blueblur in Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2021/22United are still fully convinced it's the manager letting them down.
They seem entrenched in this idea that some of their players are 'world class ' because of their names and still persist to this day in saying they are better than our counterparts.
When will it dawn on them that Pogba is not world class Bruno is not world class, Sancho is not top class, Ronaldo is finished and the best are either average or poor?
'Well they must be better than the likes of Mount, Havertz, Werner, etc because they are the bigger names.
We are 9 points ahead with a game in hand having played tougher fixtures. At the moment, its a chasm.

ItsEssexRob got a reaction from ducavis in Romelu Lukaku back to Chelsea - and gone again! You'd think so, given the record vs big teams it would be utterly crazy.

ItsEssexRob got a reaction from Gentian in Romelu Lukaku back to Chelsea - and gone again! This line up is so much more fluid. Ok not perfect given some of our players are out, but I would sooner watch this line up regardless of result than 90 minutes of pointing.

ItsEssexRob got a reaction from Oli in Romelu Lukaku back to Chelsea - and gone again!Crazy that we could have had Abraham. Ok hes not a top striker, but he was already with us and would probably get more goals and be more involved than Lukaku.

ItsEssexRob got a reaction from Oli in Romelu Lukaku back to Chelsea - and gone again! If he starts in the final I am putting 1k on Liverpool to lift the trophy. Its literally the kiss of death vs any team, let alone a top team.
Werner looks so much more threatening and exciting even if he is perpetually offside.

I've been saying for a while that I would rather we kept Abraham than sign Lukaku. I don't even rate Abraham highly, he's not good enough for where we want to be, but I am certain he would have been no worse than Lukaku. Even if he was, it wouldn't be anywhere near as damaging as what Lukaku is going to be in the long run. At least Abraham was one of our own, it's not like we threw away £100m and put him on insane wages to bring him to the club like we did with Lukaku.
Everybody involved in this deal f**ked up. We needed a goal scorer for sure, but when you spend £100m, you need to get it absolutely spot on, because if you get it wrong, it's likely that you will set the team back for a long time, and there were enough signs that Lukaku was not the player you want to take that kind of gamble with. I mean for f**k sake, we have been watching this guy for a decade, everybody knows everything there is to know about him.
Did we seriously believe we couldn't let this "chance" slip through our fingers? were we really THAT desperate? We had just won the Champions League, we were a young team that had just taken one giant step in development, we didn't need to bring in this liability.
Football changes fast, there are always a few break through players every season, you just need to bide your time. But no, once again we have shot ourselves in the foot and bought in a very limited footballer for an obscene amout of money on massive wages. There is no way we recover from this quickly, it's yet another set back signing, and a set back to what I thought was showing early signs of becoming one of the most promising teams in Europe.

ItsEssexRob got a reaction from azpi28 in Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2021/22United are hitting the levels of delusion Liverpool were at between 2004 and 2014 although even then Liverpool won the CL in that time.
Ever remember the boom bust cycle RedCafe used to post every season for Liverpool?
Their players just aren't very good, and they overrate almost every single one of them with even the ones that have had good patches just being nowhere near top class.
Then players that have been out for a while become immortalised as though their return makes all the difference until it sinks in they are average as well.
... Im just bitter still because RedCafe banned me 5 years ago, so watching them suffer makes me smile 😂

ItsEssexRob got a reaction from Oli in Romelu Lukaku back to Chelsea - and gone again!Has to be sold this summer, although we will take a loss. Sometimes you have to just suck it up.
What makes this all the worse is that he seems to be one of those players whose appearances are tied into his contract- if that is still a thing, because on form he should be nowhere near the team.
I prefer how we play without him even if we lose, and have no confidence in the last half of the season like this.
We were sold that he would at least put away the small teams, but he isn't, he makes us one dimensional and slow.
It will end up resulting in Tuchel going when it absolutely shouldnt.
-
ItsEssexRob got a reaction from Oli in Romelu Lukaku back to Chelsea - and gone again! At this point we really, REALLY need to cut our losses admit defeat and get rid, because he's not even doing it vs the decent and poor sides any more, which means you literally have nothing.
If we persist with him any longer our season will go into freefall. I've never known a player to hamper the team so much when he's on the field.
Go back to what worked so well at the end of last season.

ItsEssexRob got a reaction from Oli in Romelu Lukaku back to Chelsea - and gone again!Does anyone find it frustrating that we end up with Lukaku for near 100m who is pretty much the worst expensive striker I have ever seen, whilst we let go 2 players that reguarly score against us and win their teams titles. ( Bruyne and Salah).
For all our excellent selling price ability in the transfer market we have a pretty shocking record of getting rid of players that then become world class, whilst overpaying for the worst strikers imaginable.
Ironically the only two world class strikers we have had in the last 18 years were Jose buys.

ItsEssexRob got a reaction from Forever Blue in Chelsea vs Wolves (PL) Sun 10th Mar 14:05 GMTWe cant. A good result against Spurs, and a resolute display vs City in the final doesn't change that we have been woeful for ages now.
Sometimes you have to just accept that a certain manager or player isnt cut out for either the elite level, or for a certain league, and from what we have seen Sarri and some of his signings appear to fall into that category.

ItsEssexRob got a reaction from strider6004 in Jose Mourinho threadIts a little sad seeing the once respectable United fans dribbling over a few comments too. This is really one of those arguments where nobody wins and often the ones that start impressing upon other that 'their side won' look the fools.
I would much rather remind he put the point across that he won the title and had a much better season in England than any of Joses last 5, plus that the head to heads since he arrived are 3-0-1 . He has been thoroughly dominated by Conte at United.
