  1. You can't compare with the players we had out injured last night. But if LR didn't know what a tough job he had on his hands, he'll have a better idea now. It wasn't that long ago we had a much better side and squad than Arsenal. Now, you would struggle to replace anyone in that Arsenal side with a CFC player and their bench was way stronger than ours. We really have spunked a whole load of money on some questionable quality players.
  2. AS others have said, will take the 2-3 and still not sure how we managed to come away with that when for large parts, Arsenal were so superior. Instead of the one goal deficit, it could easily be four, so at least it gives us a slim chance in the return leg if we have the missing players available. Arsenal looked to be playing within themselves and the squad quality was emphasised with their bench compared to ours, Hated the messing around with the ball at the back. It was amateur stuff so why persevere with it when it keeps going so badly? We gave a dew very needless free-kicks away around the edge of our box down to bad decision making - luckily none of them cost us but on another night it could have been curtains. Love seeing Josh getting minutes but I see him as a CB - he looks like a fish out of water playing wide right - where Estevao should be getting the ball. And how the f**k did we end the game with Badiashille and Tosin on the pitch together again? We definitely got away with one.
  3. He's undone all that in one shocker of a performance. Has to be dropped after tonight.
  4. We're still just about in it but at times it's been men against boys. The corner was a joke - Sanchez and Pedro both piss-poor. And what is all this trying to play out from the back? It's horrendous to watch - we are rubbish at it. Just hope Estevao keeps his cool and doesn't pick up another yellow. Just play for pride second half and stop f**king about at the back. COME ON THE CHELS!!!
  5. f**k me, No Palmer, No James and No Delap and even Gittens not about? Only good thing is no Tosin or Badiashille. I fear the worst - will take a draw now and hope we have a bit more quality available second leg.
  6. If Palmer is missing then if we want to stand any chance of getting a result, Estevao HAS to play. We will all be very annoyed if we crash out of the semi-finals with little more than a whimper.
  7. Me too (wish he was still a Blue - can't wish him luck though). He offers more than Enzo, for a fraction of the price. These f**king owners.
  8. Now look what you've done!!!
  9. Will never get the Garnacho signing - we didn't need him and not many CFC supporters wanted him. Gittens so far has looked too timid and light-weight but he has shown glimpses of quality and I think (or at least hope) he will turn out to be a better player than George. Like many of us, I've always been a big fan of a youngster coming thorough our academy and getting into the first team but I haven't seen anything from George that makes me think he can be at that level. Think a lower PL side or even a Championship team, pushing for the PL, would be his best bet - maybe with Lamps at Coventry. Still glad we sold Madueke too - especially now we have Estevao.
  10. Bet Fulham are glad they kept Wilson and also signed Kevin. Both look a lot better than George.
  11. Don't get the line-ups with Pedro up front. Guy has been woefully out of form and looks disinterested whenever he plays. Feel Delap will cause the Arsenal defence a lot more issues - especially if Palmer and Estevao are supplying the ammo.
  12. Would start Delap and Estevao over Pedro and Neto.
  13. Hato for me but Gittens did okay and Estevao was great when he came on, if a little greedy. Hopefully, LR saw enough of Badiashille to see he shouldn't pick him for any important games.
  14. Tuned in last night as I was expecting a decent game. But after a lively start by Arsenal, the game became a massive bore so I switched off second half. Typical of the modern game - very little excitement with very few bums off seat moments. Whilst I was watching though, both teams passed it about a lot better than we do. Liverpool have been poor this season but a couple of times, they passed it out from the back with proper movement and players actually running into space to receive the ball. Not like our slow, ponderous, pass, pass & pass again - with no movement and getting nowhere until it finally goes back to Sanchez and then he proceeds to hoof the ball into touch! What happened to the beautiful game..................?
  15. Shouldn't the thread be closed for good? The guy is history and to be honest, I'm happy to forget he ever existed.
  16. I can't see us putting too strong a side out for this one. Can expect all our "big-hitters" to be rested, what with the first leg semi final v the Gooners coming up next Wednesday. Hopefully, whatever side he puts out will have a bit too much for opponents currently sitting 19th in The Championship, although of course, I wouldn't bet on it.
  17. It can ONLY be down to his work rate. Everything else he does is on the whole, pretty damn poor. Coaching team need to decide what they want. Estevao will give you so much more attack wise. A wide man who actually takes on and beats defenders - the sort of player who will give defenders nightmares. Okay, he's young and will be a bit hit and miss and might not run about as much as Neto or get back. But Neto getting back - yes, he's a body in our own half / edge of the box, but he will hardly ever actually make a tackle, so him tracking back is of little or no use - teams just bypass him easily. Give me the player who will create for us rather than a player who runs about a lot and tracks back (to little affect).
  18. Worst part is, Enzo and Neto seem to get more minutes than most and yet NEITHER should be in the starting 11 when everyone is fit.
  19. Only real positives from last night were Delap looking a lot better and some of our corners were very decent. What really bugs me is the minutes the "senior" players are getting compared to the others. By senior I mean players like Neto, Fernandez, Tosin & Gusto. No way Santos should have been the one sacrificed yesterday - really poor decision. No minutes at all for Estevao when Neto stunk the place out again. And okay, Acheampong did get on but he should be starting ahead of Tosin.
  20. Still our most creative player, even when he's only at 50%. His form is a little bit concerning and it's hard to think he has slipped down the England pecking order when he was most peoples pick after the Euro's. He has never had great pace but just used to beat opponents with skill and body movement. Now you start to wonder if they have got wise to that and worked him out a bit? Who knows how much the niggling injuries are effecting him, but very annoying that last night, just as he was starting to influence the game, they decide to take him off and bring on f**king Pedro - what a complete waste of time and substitution that was.
  21. He's having a great season but his form has dipped recently (probably down to having to carry Enzo so often). But what is annoying me about him of late is his play-acting. Any challenge and he seems to go down and roll about, only to be up 20 seconds later. Sorry Moises, in that role, you have to be hard - please cut out all the silly stuff - it's embarrassing.
  22. Sigh. Different blokes picking the team but same issues. Go down to 10 men so why FFS take off Santos who has been playing well and just made a good block? Enzo stayed on again and bar a couple of decent corners was miss placing passes all over the place and looked like a passenger. Then, just as we're getting back in the game and Palmer was looking better, we take Palmer off and bring on Pedro who was absolute w**k. And Estevao get's zero minutes whilst Neto stayed on for 90 and was bang average yet again. So frustrating. WHAT are these guys watching FFS?
  23. As much as I was underwhelmed with this appointment, from the few clips of interviews I have seen, he comes across really well. Nice to have an English coach who was born very close to The Bridge. He at least talks a good game - lets just hope that translates to the pitch.
