  1. Our results record against them isn't great and yet some of the performances have been good and merited wins. A whole lot will depend on who is available. If Cucurella is back that will be a huge boost and it would also be good to have Estevao on the bench. We must NOT start with either Badiashille or Tosin and I'm hoping Gusto won't feature too. Be great to pull off a shock win - the odds aren't great but on our day and all that........
  2. I've almost become immune to things like this and modern day football in general. When players who are not that great are being signed for £100m+ and are on £300k+ a week, it's like they're talking monopoly money. So yes, £342M is a massive number, but it kinda means nothing (at least not like it would have back in the day). So much wrong with the game nowadays. Can still enjoy the odd game but on the whole, it gives me nothing like it used to and just generally puts me in a bad mood.
  3. I watched some of the Sheff Utd v Coventry game last night and didn't realise Gilchrist wasn't still at Utd. Looked him up and see he went to West Brom but is struggling to get many games with them. Shame, but just goes to show you need a bit more than passion to make it at the top level.
  4. He got that wrong, but he's not the first coach to throw on defensive players when down to 10 men and holding onto a slender lead. Doesn't exactly mean he is out of his depth. Not as bad as what Maresca did after Sanchez got sent off against Man Utd.
  5. WHAT a player he could have been! Have heard so many people in the game say he is one of the best talents they ever saw and I recall seeing a few Man Utd youth games where he looked unbelievable. Alas, he surrounded himself with complete wrong 'uns and it all became a familiar story of what could have been.
  6. I'd almost forgotten about Paez. Wasn't he meant to be the next wonder kid? What's gone wrong - another Gael Kakuta?
  7. To be honest, just sounds like an over used cliche to me. Waiting for the next one on the list "He's lost the dressing room.........................................."
  8. In what way is it clear that Rosenior is out of his depth?
  9. I don't think LR will be penalised if we miss out on CL football as a lot of that will be down to Maresca. Having given him a long contract I really can't see him going anywhere UNLESS we lost just about every game from now until the end of the season, and although there are a lot of tough games to come, there are some winnable ones. And he will probably have told the hierarchy that he needed the rest of this season to judge the squad and then with a pre-season under his belt and hopefully a fit Colwill available next season, things WILL be better. I am happy for him to be given a decent chance, although I would like to see Gusto and Enzo play a lot less minutes and Acheampong play more.
  10. I think "really sh*t" is going a little far, but I (and I should think most) totally agree - there is no way this guy should be the first name on the team sheet and play 90 minutes just about every game. Ridiculous that it doesn't seem to matter how bad a game he has, he still plays.
  11. Yes and No. When he is 100% match fit he starts without doubt and I would start him ahead of the likes of Foden, Rodgers, Saka, Belligham - whoever.................. But right now, he's clearly not anything like 100% and he'll be happy just to be in the squad. Guess TT will leave it as late as he can to see who is fit AND in form.
  12. Spot On. It was in the '90's that I made the decision to stop buying the match day programme and always got the Indie and Red Card instead. Much better read for fraction of the price. Who else had the Indie "Young, gifted & blue" T-Shirt. Wore mine for years until it had more holes in than our defence does currently!
  13. Sadly lost mine once I hit my 30's. But yes, if I had the money would definitely go for a "James Nesbit". Saw OCS guitarist Steve Craddock who was pretty thin on top suddenly show of a decent head of hair the other day too.
  14. Had freshened things right up since he came in but that yesterday was back to earth with a big BUMP and it's all down to him. Really poor not to beat such an average Burnley side, especially after going 1-0 up so early. So much for high intensity. His game management and team selection had been decent up to yesterday and I like how Santos has been a key factor, but yesterday, why did Gusto play for so long and why was Fofana given as many minutes when on a yellow card? And it was Santos who was given the role to mark Burnley's best header of the ball in the dying minutes when we had f**k knows how many defenders / bigger players on the pitch? That was a wake up call yesterday (as if we needed one). Hope unlike Maresca, he learns from his mistakes and quickly.
  15. This guy gets so many minutes but always offers so little. Just don't get it. Somebody please make sense of it.
  16. Not a great attempt but to be fair he had only come on 10 minutes before and it's not as if it was an easy chance.
  17. Unfortunately, Disasi's weaknesses (and complete f**k ups) far outweigh any strengths.
  18. I really did think this season was going to be different (it still might). Not because Arsenal have been that great, but they do have a strong squad and strong bench, looked the best team defensively and also had the benefit that all their rivals were inconsistent and dropping points all over the place. But it really would be great to see them choke again - especially if they win NOTHING. Would be so happy for Havertz and Madueke especially!!
  19. I do get @strider6004 reserving judgement on Estevao. No doubting he is super talented and yes, at only 18, of course he will be inconsistent. With all the hype and folk throwing in names like Messi and Rooney who were good week in, week out, even at a young age, it is easy to get carried away. Earlier in the season, we wanted him to start every game, as he is a game changer. But now he has started more games, he has struggled a little and I must admit, he isn't quite as quick as I first thought he was. Some folk were almost suggesting he was more important to us than Palmer FFS! Think LR is playing it right by giving him more minutes than the bald fraud but still not over-playing him. Do think it might be best to start Neto in the bigger games and bring Estevao on against tired legs with 30 + minutes to go.
  20. In a word, NO. Debateable as to whether he is better or worse than Garnacho and Gittens, but even if he is better, that still doesn't make him any good!
  21. What? The same Disasi who has constantly f**ked up and cost us goals?
  22. Watched the game last night to see Lamps Coventry go back to top of The Championship after some iffy form of late. Have to say, thought Boro played the better football, but would love to see Lamps get success and take Coventry up. Trouble is, can only foresee them struggling just as Burnley have dome this season. I'm sure Lamps wants to get Coventry up in the PL, but he must also be thinking it won't do himself any favours if they get battered most weeks. Unless he gets them up and then jumps ship as others have done in the past. Poor guy is really starting to thin on top too - that's the stresses of football management for you!
  23. Utter Rubbish.
  24. What - with Garnacho........................................?!!
