Liverpool
Yes, and you predicted it, didn't you Moose? I love you to death, but in future, please keep your mouth shut! Not exactly too difficult to predict that one. Erm, I predict that tomorrow will be Sunday.

Liverpool
Sorry Just but I can't be anything like as positive. Only plusses for me today were Cech's return, SWP did ok and Drogba at least battled. The rest were poor, although I appreciate a number were played out of position. On another day, Liverpool could easily have scored 5 or 6. That Riise shot that hit the bar Kuyt should have been MOTM, he never let up, but I must admit Gerrard totally outshone Lamps today. He was a driving force for them today, Lamps other than a few cross filed balls to SWP was nowhere. (But was still better than Ballack). Kalou and Mikel looked exactly what they are. Two young lads who can do a job in the Carling Cup but are no way ready for the Premier League. They looked like young boys out there and made little impact. And Robben? I really have given up on him now. Yet another injury from nothing. He'll always be too lightweight and he has NEVER done it against top opposition. It amazes me how everyone talked about our strong squad in the past. Today we had JT and Joe missing and Carvalho & Maka and we looked like a mid table side. The scousers are now just 5 points behind us and at this rate, they will finish above us.

Robben the key to EP title !
Yeah, I hate going back to the Cole / Gallas thing but how can you not on a day like today? What did Cole give us today? He gave us nothing and stood off Pennant for the second goal. Oh to have had Gallas in the centre today. I am not saying we wouldn't have lost, but I know who I'd prefer. Not only that, but how many important goals did Gallas get for us? By the end of the season, I reckon Cole will still be on a big fat 0.

Instead, just be depressed for the rest of the weekend

Robben the key to EP title !
Wel if Robben is the key to the title, I guess it's all over then

Liverpool
As soon as I saw the starting line up I feared the worst, but what is most disappointing is the complete lack of fight and team spirit. Ballack? Is there a premiership player that has given away as many free kicks as this ****? Where is Lampard? Where is Kalou. Where was Robben before he once again hobbled off? Will we ever see him again? Who Cares.

As Sheva would say, let?s take the bull**** by the horns
Yeah Mikel does worry me in that aspect. He is the sort of guy who if he picks up an early booking, you just no he ain't gonna last the 90 minutes. Far better to bring him on later in a game until he's learnt a bit, especially in an important game like this.

The most disappointing Chelsea XI of all time...
Sends a shiver down my spine every time I watch that. That side might not have ever won anything (other than Div 2 Champs & Members cup), but it will always remain my favourite Chelsea side. Happy Days!

As Sheva would say, let?s take the bull**** by the horns
So difficult to predict. If I had to put money on the two games I would have both down as draws. If we are to gain points, then I think Arse have a better chance of beating Utd, than we do of beating Liverpool, due to the loss of key players. But I will say my prayers and if we can take all three points at Anfield and The Arse give Utd a lesson in football, it will be a bloody good weekend.

a modern fairy tale
I wonder if they would allow the header to stand - what with the protective headgear?

The most disappointing Chelsea XI of all time...
Only got this Dave Speedie hat-trick, Full Members Cup Final When Pates went up to lift The Members Cup we were there....... Brilliant. Bit of a hazy memory now, but to see Chelsea at Wembley, albeit in such a minor competition was my highlight of the 80's football wise. Oh, to have someone like Wee Pat now skipping past full backs and putting in a quality cross 99% of the time. Have to agree with BJD though, if that game had gone on much longer, we'd have blown it.

Good songs by bands you hate...
BJD, as much as I love Kerry, I still think I prefer Nigella. You finished with her? TBB, talking of Avatars, come on, you hAVE to change yours to TBB at 9 years old!! As for the word, that wasn't you who snogged the granny I hope (with tongues!!!). Or perhaps you gave that Terry Christian a slap? Derserves it, the Manc ****!

Good songs by bands you hate...
Bad haircuts and some Far too much hair content in that video!! Can't quite give you legend status for that BJD. Still, great memory to have as you say.

Didn't used to get called Joe 90 when you were a kid did you TBB!! Anyway, doesn't matter. You've appeared in a Jam video so that makes you a Legend in my book. Good on Yer. I missed my chance. Back in 1980 one Sunday afternoon the phone goes and my mum answers and calls me. There's an Anne Weller on the phone for you. When I was 15/16 I used to get about 1 one call every couple of Months so I thought who the F*** is Anne Weller and this has to be some kinda wind up. Anyway I go to the phone and sure enough it was Paul's mum - just checking I had my fan club membership through and advising me I could apply for tickets for a forthcoming gig. Being the shy & moody teenager, I think I managed to mumble about 5 words and didn't even manage a "give my Regards to Paul"!!!

Good songs by bands you hate...
Although I have every single (in picture sleeves!!), every album, loadsa bootlegs, I do not have the Snap Video collection If we are talking singles, and as I say, The Jam didn't really make any memorable videos, then it must have something to do with kids / youth. So I can only think of Dreams of Children or When You're Young. Either?

Good songs by bands you hate...
are you sure it was The Jam and not this ? http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/ilove/years/1 ... clip.shtml absloutley not ! I reckon you're one of the boater-wearing toffs in 'Eton Rifles'...? Although that would make you about 45 and I seem to remember thinking that I may have a few years on you? Or were you that Tracey lass (backing singer on Beat Surrender) before you had the op? She also had a very minor hit with 'The House That Jack Built' Not Eton Rifles or a Style Councuil track The Jam were not really renowned for their videos - them really being a live band and that. I have never seen anyone look as uncomfortable as Weller in the video for The Bitterest Pill (their worst song by miles). The only other video that springs to mind is Funeral Pyre. In the woods and I seem to recall some kids in that. Not that one is it? Whatever one it is (and you MUST tell), I'm impressed!!

Paulo Ferreira - a Chappie or a Sharon Wood
Good for you Mike. Not Weller's best period but they still managed some good stuff (okay and some stuff that wasn't quite so good!!) But perhaps from now on Paulo should be known as The Capuccino Kid!
-
Paulo Ferreira - a Chappie or a Sharon Wood
Have to agree with dkw, as no way is he as bad as Darren bloody Wood, but he is not in Chappie's class either. Also have to agree with BlueBeard in that he looked great when he first played for us but now looks decidedly dodgy at times. Always thought the problem with Johnno was the dodgy moments - the lapses in concentration etc. But at least he was young and could learn from them. If we'd stuck with Johnno throughout, who knows we might now have a pretty decent right back as oppossed to 3 or 4 who are all as average as each other.

so, sunday...
Any way we can stop Gem seeing this comment? If she sees this I seriously fear for Robs life.

Mourinho / Gallas
I still find it incredibly hard to believe that a coach who is as meticulous as Mourinho would let a world class player like Gallas slip through the net when it could have so easily been avoided. Just say JT or Lamps were having problems with a new contract, I would imagine JM would be actively involved to make sure everything was sorted. So why wasn't the Gallas issue sorted? Surely JM goes to Kenyon or whoever and says look I don't want to lose probably the worlds best defender - just do whatever needs to be done? In recent interviews JM has hinted that he wanted Gallas to stay and the fact that we lost him on the last day of the transfer deadline was beyond his control. I can't believe that. We all now how highly JM rates Carvalho and I feel he thought that as good as Gallas was, with JT & Carvo in the middle and Cole at right back, we wouldn't be any worse off. With hindsight he realises he was wrong and following the recent run of games where we conceded 8 in 4 he is moaning about Gallas going not being down to him? It's all really strange and there are still too many conflicting versions for my liking. We'll know come May just how costly a piece of business it turned out to be. I am not saying Gallas going is the sole factor - the injuries to Joe, JT & Cech and the way the new players have failed to settle in are all major. But I can't help feel that if we'd still had Gallas whilst JT has been out injured, we'd have done a lot better and how I wish he was still available if JT is out for the Liverpool game this weekend.

Mourinho / Gallas
Sorry to bring this up again now, when we'd probably all like to forget and put it behind us. But with all this "Mourinho possibly leaving" talk, this issue keeps cropping up and there still appears to be a lot of conjecture about what actually happened. So, does anyone know for fact whether it was Mourinho who wanted Gallas out or if the deal was done without his approval? As the time, I assumed he'd ok'd it as I find it hard to beleive that a player of such importance would be allowed to leave (to one of our biggest rivals) without Mourinho's say so. And if that had happened, I wouldn't expect Mourinho to still be here now. But recently, rumours are that JM didn't agree to it and that he has no problem with Gallas (even after all that scoring an own goal stuff?). Other reports say JMhad had enough of Gallas and insisted he went. Do we have to wait until one or both bring out a book or does anyone know for sure? It's bugging me

Wigan at home..
That is certainly what we need. Our match v the scousers is in our own hands but we really need some big performances from our players - especially ones that have been struggling. I also think Arsenal are a better side than Man Utd and are more than capable of giving them a hiding. Of course if the results go the opposite way, that could be it - all over

Beckham signs for LA Galaxy
And I'm thinking things are getting out of hand when players are on ?100k a week Just complete utter madnees.
-
Chelsea's best ever transfer signing?
Even taking into account the great players from recent times, I'd still have to go for Wee Pat. Nevin gave me more pleasure from a spectators point of view than any other Chelsea player. Just to watch him go passed defenders when he went on one of his mazy dribbles was worth the entrance money alone.

Chelsea an improvement over last season?
BUMP. I like to Bump this one up every now and again. Not to make you feel sheepish Butch, honest!! But from the very start of the season, even before our bad luck with injuries, I just had a feeling that the squad wasn't as well balanced and that we wouldn't fair as well. Okay, we're still in all 4 competitions, but no-one could really argue that we are playing good football. Over the past couple of seasons we have had a team that contained players, nearly all of whom could walk into any other premiership team. How many of last nights starting 11 would get into any other top side? Essien, Cole & possibly Maka.
