  1. For all you Kalou haters, it's only as a striker that he sucks big time. I remember many games in which he has done a good job on the flanks. Prove your worth Salomon!
  2. Line up announced on the UEFA site. We're playing a 4-3-3 with Malouda at left back. Ballack, Mikel and Lampard start in the midfield. Kalou and Anelka are flanking Didi in the attack. Carvalho is preferred as Terry's partner in central defence. Ivan at right back. Slightly surprised. But I'm sure Carlo knows what he's doing. Cheers!
  3. Just scroll to the top of the page and you might find something similar to what you said. ;) Looks like we're in agreement, now aren't we?
  4. Isn't Stoch pretty much an in-form Joey? We could certainly do with him next season if Joey's form does not improve. He has already made a telling contribution on two occasions for Chelsea (the Stoke game and Watford game last season) which Joe Cole has so often failed to offer this season. All of you do keep it in mind that this is coming from a person who regards Cole as one of his favourite Chelsea players.
  5. The official site states that Zhirkov is not travelling to Milan. However, Alex and Belletti have both recovered along with Lampard ofcourse, which is relief. So I think the news is pretty bad but not as bad as earlier feared (Malouda at left back!). Hence, our two French men would be able to combine in the attack. Belletti at left back isn't as bad as Paulo who would clearly have struggled. And I am a big fan of his throw ins, long range shots and well, versatility. Here's hoping we do well in Italy in order to have that confidence of progressing to the next round for the return leg at The Bridge.
  6. Well, it's never really been proper weeping but the Champions League final did make me very emotional and it had the sickening and sinking feeling to it. Ironically, when Lamps scored from the spot in the CL tie just before this one, there were tears of joy. However, a certain Mr. Ovrebo really played around with my emotions last year. I was so disgusted after the last penalty shout was rejected coupled with the full time whistle. I couldn't move myself and didn't want to look at the TV either. I don't even remember what I did. But I definitely missed the Drogba show after the match and it took me a while to find what exactly had happened because I think I switched off the TV.
  7. People! We won! 3 points. Let's leave Moos alone for watching his favourite reality show for a few minutes in the first half of the match. How about discussing some rituals we follow to show our support. I'd love to hear what you guys are upto during matchdays, whether at the game, some pub or in front of a TV screen. I'll start of with some: 1. Blue to be worn through out the day and changing to some Chelsea shirt as soon as the team news is out. (this one might be a little too common) 2. Whenever my bladder reaches the limit and the half time or full time whistle isn't happening any time soon, the volume of the TV is increased as much as possible so that I don't miss even a second of the precedings. It must be noted that Drogba has scored 3 goals during my last 5 pee breaks during a match. :D I may be sounding a little too childish to some of you. But that's way I am and can't help it. :)
  8. I think this the would be decided over two legs and set-pieces. Just hoping we avoid two 0-0 draws and the penalty shoot out that may follow. Jose still hasn't lost a home game! Left back slot is the only major worry if Zhirkov doesn't recover. He's the only I'd trust against Maicon from our available options. I'd go with a 4-3-3 system. But to be honest I want a 4-2-3-1 formation. It worked wonders for us in Europe last season. A christmas tree would also do if the right players start. Though a diamond sans Essien must be avoided. I am sure there wont be goals galore. Either side could sneak it with a lucky goal. Come on you blues! Oh and wednesday for that matter.
  9. Sophie, stop LOLing for f**k's sake! As far as this arguement is concerned, I'm not sure what to say really. This guy was our player of the season when we nearly won the Champions League. However, it has been really long since he has delivered a string of good performances. Yes, he loves Chelsea and works his socks off to please the fans, but, at this moment he is struggling. I really would want to know everyone's opinion on whether he should be told to earn his contract or handed a new deal in order to boost his confidence so that his performances pick up? How about handing him a new 3 year contract on the current salary itself with some clause that it will increased by 20-30k after assessing his performances in the latter half of the season and the World Cup perhaps?
  10. Just got a text stating Lamps is out of tomorrow's game (from the official Chelsea twitter). On checking the official site I learnt that he is one of the seven absentees which include Alex, Belletti, Deco, Boss, Ashley and Essien. Not really the news I wanted to hear. Though Frankie should be back for the Inter game.
  11. The top 8 have either just joined their employers or signed a new contract with them. Even Terry and Lampard infact. Football is becoming all about money. Well we've known this for a while now. It's nothing new.
  12. Roman Roman, sign him up! Just imagine a starting line up with Own Goal partnering Beach Ball up front. Benny from Spain would feel jealous.
  13. It's Bluemoon time! Come on mister, what've you got to say? The silence is deafening...
  14. Grant speaks out after Pompey's victory over Saints This guy really is a great lad. Really feel bad for him and Portsmouth ofcouse.
  15. Oh yes certainly. Come on mister! Don't be so fickle. And I infact think he has been one of the better players on the pitch today. But definitely not up to the mark.
  16. Did anyone else happen to see Di Santo behind the Cardiff manager when they had equalised. Looked like he was sporting a facial injury.
  17. I never knew using 'wink' is not permitted on this forum. Could someone tell me what's wrong with keeping one open and the other closed? As far as the match is concerned, in the team selection by Carlo, I think Paulo is the only questionable starter. Ivan doesn't look tired and could have done with another start to keep the momentum going. I'm not too pleased to find Ballack in there either because he isn't contributing much to the team unless it's a 4-3-3. So I presume that's how we go about it today? Or is it the return of the diamond? I hope Matic gets about 45 minutes today. Good to see Sturridge in there. Hopefully he continues his good Cup form. Nonetheless, I don't see any major problems that could stop us from winning today. And anything less than that would be a surprise and deemed unsatisfactory. What's up with Kakuta? Did he displease the gaffer in some way or the other?
  18. Well. Ancelotti got it wrong tonight. After rotatating the players every 5 mins. He suddenly decides to stick by almost the same XI for 3 games in 7 days. And clearly, fatigue took it's toll on the likes of Anelka, Ballack, Lampard and Terry.
  19. Hmm. Drogba and Anelka have been pathetic today.
