ws6blue Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 we have some previous in the san siro....................and not all bad think carlo will go wiv 451, block out sneider (their best player)............altho jose might change his diamond (wouldnt put it past him) so if everyone fit i'd go with cech, ivanovic, rikky, jt , yuri joe, ballack, mikel, lamps, malouda drogs if we win, expect a jose stunt score for me 1-1

Any score draw would do me, but a mourinho like 1-0 away win would be great.
Andreas Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 4-5-1 For me aswell. Cech Ivan Riccy JT Yuri Kakuta Ballack Mikel Lampard Malouda Drogba We all know kakuta wont play, but would like to see him rather than Joey - Don't know what the status is on Yuri, but I hope to god he is fit for this match! We have not been playing convincing at all in the league the last few games, but we all know that the boys always step up an extra level for these big european nights! Drogba will have another magic night and I would go for 2-0 to us, come on boys! KTBFFH
The Moos Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 I'm going to be pessimistic and say that we'll lose this one. Our performance against Wolves wasn't good and we have quite a few players missing (though hopefully some of them will be back for this game). We have played well against the big teams even when our form has seemed low, but I can't help being nervous for this one. Besides, Jose knows Chelsea and most of our current players. He'll probably find a way to erase Drogba and some of the other important players.
Phillip Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Lucio is big and strong, and might be able to handle Drogba. I am hoping for a 1-1 result at San Siro.

german-blue Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 (edited) Pray to god that Zhirkov will be fit for this one. Inter isnt really good at the wing but PF at LB in an important CL-game is something that I dont really want to see. Inter has played 0-0 today against Sampdoria. I would be happy if we get a draw, a draw with one or two goals would be even better. Would use the christmas tree line-up again as we are used to it now. ---------------------------Cech---------------------------- ------Ivan-----------Cavahlo-JT--------------Zhirkov(hopefully) ----------------Ballack---Mikel--Lampard----------------- --------------------Anelka---Malouda--------------------- -------------------------DROGBA--------------------------- Subs: Hilario,Bruma, PF, Matic, Deco(?) Joe, Sturridge Any news on Deco ? Will he be back again ? I hope we will repeat the efficency that we have shown against ManU and Arsenal in the PL. Already nervous about that match... valim Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 we only creat now Topic Inter have them since SHort Of UCL they speak about it every day hope we trash him we just need to score first they are much slow than us
ivorycoast Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Very Nervous about this one... I have a bad feeling about this tie, we have looked very poor in recent weeks. This game is going to be great!

I will have to disagree there, Chels always seems to put on a show in the champions league, do not know why but we always always always turn up no matter how crap we are in the league. We will turn up and boy will we give them a game, we have Drogba ! Edited February 21, 2010 by Bridgeboy
just Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 All about the managers for me. About their formations and the tactical changes they will have to make throughout the match.

That clearly will be the line up. If Zhirkov isn't fit then I'm not sure what the option is. Paulo does play left back for Portugal so that is probably it. A score draw or better is the aim.
kalpitv Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I think this the would be decided over two legs and set-pieces. Just hoping we avoid two 0-0 draws and the penalty shoot out that may follow. Jose still hasn't lost a home game! Left back slot is the only major worry if Zhirkov doesn't recover. He's the only I'd trust against Maicon from our available options. I'd go with a 4-3-3 system. But to be honest I want a 4-2-3-1 formation. It worked wonders for us in Europe last season. A christmas tree would also do if the right players start. Though a diamond sans Essien must be avoided. I am sure there wont be goals galore. Either side could sneak it with a lucky goal. Come on you blues! Oh and wednesday for that matter.
kazchelsea Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 i think we can nick a 1-0 as long as the defensive are on there game wwe always got a chance to nick one
bluevale2 Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I can't help thinking that there will be some sort of controversy. However we will get at least a 2-2 draw, then beat them at the Bridge. Come on you Blues!!!
BlueBosnian Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I really think we have a stronger team than Inter and can see us losing only to Barcelona in the CL, and that one would hurt. We don't have to win the game in Milan, but we can't lose it either. I'd play: -------------------Cech Ivanovic - Carvalho - Terry - Zhirkov --------Ballack --------- Lampard ---------------- J. Cole Anelka ---------------------- Malouda -----------------Drogba But I'm pretty sure Mikel will start instead of Joe Cole.

Joe Cole should get nowhere near the starting line-up against Inter aswell.
Andreas Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Inters goalie Julio Cesar have been involved in a car crash, nothing too serious but he could miss the Chelsea game.
Nibs Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 All about the managers for me. About their formations and the tactical changes they will have to make throughout the match. Quite Right Just. We are favourites so there is pressure on Carlo to get past the "Special One" in this tie. I wonder if Mourinho will name our starting line up today?
Chippy Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 (edited) I think Carlo might go with the Diamond for this, I would welcome seeing Anelka back in his preferred role alongside Drogba where he performs best. I'm sure Mikel has done enough to earn his place and with Ivanovic back to RB the only position I would have my doubts about is LB...I think Paulo has suffered with the lack of games and the different positions he plays when he gets in so although in form I would start him at LB ahead of Zhirkov, on current form I'm hoping the latter is fit. I think Joe should count himself lucky if he gets a starting place for the away leg and I would'nt be surprised if Deco was fit to see him play the tip of the Diamond, if hes not then that is another position that needs looking at. I find it hard to leave Malouda out when thinking who I would play so might give him another try where an in form Joe should be. -------------Cech------------ Ivonavic---Carvalho---Terry---Zhirkov/Ferreira -----------------Mikel----------------- -----Ballack-----------Lampard------- ---------------Malouda/Deco----------- -------Anelka------------------ -----------------Drogba----------- Hilario Ferreira (if Zhirkovs fit) Alex Matic Malouda/Deco Kalou Sturridge Edited February 22, 2010 by Chippy
BlueBeard Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Glad I'm not the only one who's praying Zhirkov is fit for this one. If he's not and Ancelotti decides to play Ferreira at LB, I don't think I'll be brave enough to watch.

I fear you might get an heart-attack if you see the line-up ;) What other choice does Carlo have for LB? If Zhirkov is injured then PF just has to play.
Zola Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 (edited) If we score a goal and get a draw I will be quite happy. A win would be most pleasing. I would pick a line up of: Cech Ivanovic, Carv, JT , Zhrikov Ballack, Mikel, Lampard, Malouda Anelka Drogba Edited February 22, 2010 by Zola

Malouda has played LB in France and done OK with it..might turn out to be pretty good in a Diamond with the wingbacks bombing forward ala Bos ;) I can't see further than Paulo though if Zhirkovs not availlable and I'm sure Jose is rubbing his hands hoping to punish us down the right..I think Ferreira will step up if he has to.
Zola Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 I remember him stepping up against Barca, was some performance. Apart from that he is a liability! Very limited footballer
