loz Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Terry given 'official leave' for this game so we will see Alex and Carvalho at the back. The likes of Ferreira and Sturridge have a good chance of getting some game time as well. I hope Carlo doesn't do anything stupid with the team line up and make too many changes. If Ashley Cole is fit then I want him to play. Likewise Drogba. However I would be looking to rest Frank and Anelka. My team would be something like ......................................Cech......................... Ferreira................Ivan.........Alex..............A Cole ......................................Mikel......................... ..................Deco (if fit).............Matic............. Sturridge................................................Joe Cole ................................Drogba............................. But it won't be that.

waldron Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Team could be : Hilario Ferreira Zhirkov Alex Carvalho Mikel J cole Ballack Malouda Anelka Sturridge Subs: Turnbull Ivanovic Deco Kakuta Matic Bruma Kalou
rahul Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I hope Matic and Sturridge get starts in this one. Carlo would most likely field a very strong line up but giving a game to one or two youngsters should not be our undoing in games like these. I hope the line up is: .................Turnbull Ferriera Alex Carvalho Zhirkov ...................Mikel .......Deco..................Matic Kalou.........Drogba.........Sturridge But I expect it to be more like: ...................Cech Ferriera....Alex....Carvalho....Ashley ...................Mikel .......Deco..................Ballack .................Joe Cole(if fit) ............Kalou.........Drogba

dkw Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 should be the same team as against Preston, but without Ferreira who was shocking in that game.
robbieboi Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Do you think carlo will put out his strongest side? with the likes of lampard, anelka, drogba all starting?
Mikstaw Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Oh, dear, we sholud bac to the diamond. Good that Terry is going to Dubai. He shold have a rest.
Kalou Time Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I want to see Kakuta start this game. After this there wont be many, if anym games we can give youngsters a chance in for the rest of the season. So i'd like to see him and Sturridge starting
Mikstaw Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Chelsea player, Ashley Cole left the field yesterday in the second half, this is probably a violation of the cube. Cole was forced to leave the pitch in the 57th minute of the game. This is probably the ankle fracture. Assistant to Carlo Ancelotti said: "At first it looked ugly. It was not a foul, but still Cole suffered in this battle and we think that this is a violation of the cube." "He's had ankle problems sooner, but today we can assess everything in Cobham.

dkw Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 It's only google translation. My English isn't perfeckt... not getting at you, i presumed you had used google. any idea what it was supposed to mean?
Phillip Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I am at a loss too, with respect to what Mikstaw is trying to convey. Weird that he could not find the actual English quote, since I am assuming that Ancelloti made his quote in English, and not in Polish, and thus why the need for a Google translation?
Ruh Buh Juh Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Kalou will probably get a start in this one. But seen as Matic has been on the bench for a few games now, I expect to see at least 30 mins or so from him. I wouldn't mind seeing a Kalou/Drogba/Sturridge front 3 to see how it goes. Ivan and Alex to partner at the back, Zhirkov on the left, Ferreira on the right. Midfield of Mikel, Lampard and Joe Cole. ----------------------Hilario ---Ferreira----Ivan----------Alex-----Zhirkov ----------------------Mikel -------------Lampard------Joey Cole ---Kalou-------------Drogba-----------Sturridge Subs: Turnbull, Carvalho, Bruma, Matic, Ballack, Kakuta, Anelka
murph89 Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I'd like to see a few of our senior players rested as they looked rather jaded last night. So out would go Lampard, Anelka, Malouda and Cole. Does anyone know when Bosingwa is likely to be back? I'd like to see him get an hour or so perhaps, assuming otherwise id have Belleti starting there and have Ferreira playing at left back. Id also like Matic play in place of Lampard, with Mikel, Zhirkov and then Deco behind the strikers (assuming we go for the diamond.) Then perhaps Sturridge and Kalou up front with Drog on the bench to come on just in case. I have serious doubts as to whether this will be the line up as i dont see Lampard being left out, despite him suffering a big dip in form recently...
german-blue Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Seriously if Kalou gets prefered over Sturridge I will really loose my faith

Could the "violation of the cube" mean he was tackled inside the box?
Phillip Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Possibly, but that would have applied to Carvalho's tackle, and not anything to do with A. Cole. I think "cube" probably was meant to refer to penalty box, but who knows?
mimilee Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I guess Belletti should be alright to play, so if Ivanovic gets rested or used as center-back, I hope to see Belletti at right back. Please please please, NOT Ferreira!

icecoolguy22 Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Lampard needs a break. He played way too many matches since the start of the year, and performance hasn't been up to standard recently. On paper, it should be an easy match, anything but a big win will satisfy us. However I will be so annoyed if we conceded another goal from set pieces
pete123 Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 It's on live on sky channel 134 only problem it's in welsh
rahul Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 what on earth is a violation of the cube? Polish translation for injury is szkoda. One of the Polish synonyms of szkoda is naruszenie, which translates backs to English as...wait for it....violation. Similarly cube translates to kostki in Polish which also means ankle. :) So that just means injury of the ankle. Courtesy: Google translator.
