  1. Don't let your hatred stand in the way of facts. Jackson is about a year younger than the 'young girl' he is accused of requesting explicit content from. She is also pretty well known for preying on young social media influencers and football players names to boost her own reputation and subequent sales of her 'explicit' material through various platforms. If you're going to bring in nonsense to support your argument against 'Wacko', at least get it right. Many in this forum have been happy to let accusations of elicit behaviour against our players slide for years, but 'Wacko' is a demon for getting frisky with someone in the adult industry.
  2. Made worse by the fact it can only be down to pure laziness too. As shown by sexyfootball's video above, clubs are making clear efforts to circulate the correct pronunciations of player names and really, anyone working in football media should make a similar effort to familiarise themselves with it. Sure, your average football fan having a go at an opposition players name off the cuff is fine. But if you are being paid to commentate/provide 'expert' opinion on a club/player, the minimum should be to research that prior to opening your mouth.
  3. I was really impressed with Ederson, Atalanta's midfielder, in the Europa League final last season. I think he'd fit perfectly at City.
  4. Absolutely. They're not stupid (or at least their producers arent). Setting up a Chelsea are doing well narrative only forges the stick to beat us with when we inevitably have a rough patch, which based on our fixture list could easily be after the next international break. "Whats gone wrong at Chelsea" "Chelsea's overinflated squad has got fed up of lack of playing time, major rifts in the dressing room" "Teams have figured out Maresca's football already"
  5. The post clearly says that hate is the undertone of your posts, rather than there being a driving force behind the hate. Probably best to not make assumptions on inferred meanings of posts, given the accusation. Personally, I find your agenda against Jackson strange, with constant reference to his looks and character rather than based on his playing ability. But as mentioned by many, this is a forum, if thats what you feel is a decent contribution to conversation then thats your decision.
  6. Jheeze its funny what a few wins does isn't it? I dont think I even heard the word 'Chelsea' in post online/TV predictions for the season, it was like we suddenly ceased to exist. All of a sudden, my Youtube is throwing up Talksh*te videos tipping us for the title, Sky Sports are loving us and the content creator crowd think Nico Jackson is a Drogba/Henry/Shearer hybrid sent to destroy world football. Don't get me wrong, its a nice shift in narrative, but just highlights so clearly how sensationalist the critisism of our club has been for the last few years. Thankfully Enzo seems the type to keep us firmly focussed on the important stuff, stick to the target of getting top 4 and hopefully bring a trophy home too.
  7. Blackburn player got bit by a Preston player this weekend, right infront of the linesman. Showed the ref the bite, still nothing given. We might get annoyed with VAR and we might hate how its used, but its easy to forget the absolute howlers that used to go unpunished before it came in.
  8. I thought Englands stucture was really impressive, Finland were absolutely boxed in (particularly in the second half). The way Carsley had them set up with the ball meant counterpressing was extremely effective if the ball was given away and I thought the team recovered well if they beat the press. It really looked like a team of good players playing good football in a good system, rather than as it was under southgate a team of good players, trying to play good football not in a system. Sure there was a lot of what people would call boring passing but they were missing a lot of big players and a few new faces bedding in too, along with the new system. As always the big questions are; will they continue to get better and can they do it against a bigger nation. We'll find out the answer to question 1 over the next 6 months or so but question 2 wont get answered until they've either commited to Carsley or opted elsewhere.
  9. Pretty sure it was reported at the time that we were purchasing it as it would be required IF we stayed but that it wasn't an indication that a decision had been made. Makes sense to get 'smaller' stumbling blocks like that out of the way before approving plans, as the price goes through the roof if they know its the only thing stopping our new stadium. Just becomes a part of whatever we sell if we move.
  10. Feels like we are trying to be too clever and opening ourselves up for getting embarressed. But the reality is that if we can't still win every group game without letting the above mentioned rest at home, then there will be bigger problems to deal with. You can update the squad after the league phase so we'll probably see Palmer back in then.
  11. Probably against the grain here but I’m okay with this failing. Sure we could do with another forward, but I stand by argument that there are no ‘sure thing’ strikers on the market at the moment. Napoli are known for being horrendous to deal with, we tried to make it work, it didn’t. We didn’t cave and break our wage structure, we’ve not exposed ourselves to another huge fee for a forward after getting the last one off our books (Rom). Sure, it raises questions over our depth in that area. But I’ll stand by the fact we can get top 4 with what we have. If we were a team looking for a title, sure we may have needed him. But we aren’t, so we should be fine.
  12. You'd imagine UEFA are allowed to make their own ruling though, similarly to how City got off from UEFA but may still get in trouble with the prem. That said, the whole concept of getting involved with fair market value seems wild to me. I get its probably mainly there to stop us selling a blade of grass for £1bn but in reality, you'd think they would have a real hard time enforcing anything against reasonable values, otherwise we'll probably fight it to the same extent city are.
  13. Will certainly be interesting to see how the reality plays out as he'll probably just get given the job if he doesn't completely f**k it up! Oh, and on the Gallagher comment, they had him down as still at Chelsea when it was first posted by England so theres some comfort
  14. There's going to have to be a new site membership teir for anyone who makes the midweek journey to Kazakhstan to watch Tosin, Disasi and Badiashile concede 3 to Astana
  15. Not overly concerned with last night. Not suprising we switched off at 3-0 on agg, given the pitch quality and opposition quality. Does need to be rectified moving forward though as we'll get caught out in this comp eventually if it continues and its not a habit you want at all.
  16. I love these 'still talking' updates because I like to imagine it means theres a constant meeting/phone call lasting for weeks going on where everyones just chatting about Eastenders and then it falls silent. "Fancy taking the deal yet, Victor?" "Nope, can I have more money?" "Nope.... Anyway, I can't believe there is an active housing market in Albert Square given the crime rate and lack of infastructure, its a suprise it hasn't been taken over for student accomadation at this point"
  17. Its so obvious that we get neither and launch a £40m bid for Duran from Villa at about 5 oclock
  18. He's gone. He's actually gone. Lukaku is no longer anything to do with our club. This season is already a win.
  19. Can see the first happening but not the second. Of all the players being pushed out, I think Chilwell is the most genuine Meresca decision. Veiga is capable of playing multiple positions in Maresca's system, Chilwell is capable of none. Should certainly be an entertaining 36 hours or so, I can't wait for it to be done so we can push on. Although some windows may remain open so sales will still be possible.
  20. He'd be silly not to. If we are trying to hardball them out, theres not much use in then turning around and saying "But if you put your foot down and stay, Ill give you a fair chance to fight your way back in", because theyll just do that. Lets see whos left after the window closes and then how they are treated. It will be very easy for him to backtrack if needed
  21. I believe you are right, but you are also wrong. The amortisation burden is going to be a challenge, but I don't think we will be forced into/continue to dispose of Cobham royalty to continue to comply. Right or wrong, I believe Trev and Conor are being pushed on because we dont think they are good enough, as well as helping with PSR. A big part of our 'strategy' is going to relate to the endless wave of £20m players we seem to sign. That question of how will they all ever play for us? They wont. The fee is small enough that even the failures will let us break even with long contracts so that we dont lose them on a free. But any wins that we get (and by wins I mean players we can shift for between 30-50) the extra fee on top of whatever we have paid is going to work in the same way as shifting the cobham boys. Annoyingly, Cobham is plugging the gap whilst the first few years of this project take place (I see it as Cobham providing the start up money) but, if things go as planned, our transfer policy isnt going to reliant on it moving forward. This doesn't mean there won't be some sales, but I think the narrative of us selling homegrown to pay for crazy business will eventually become a thing of the past.
  22. Those concerned by the lack of movement would do well to consider the reality of the situation. Clubs know we want rid of these players. The longer they leave it, the stronger their negotiating position. No doubt there will be a few deals like appear to spring out of nowhere where really they're already being discussed. Sure, there is a chance some stay or some go on loan, but I can see a few deals that look impossible right now taking place before the end of tomorrow.
  23. Since when did goals have to be meaningful to matter? Its such a forced stat. Where does it stop? Oh you're a striker you have to score goals! Wait, no thats not what I meant you had to score meaningful goals, you know, ones that technically equal the same as every other goal you score but people place more value on it. Wait, no, youre doing that now too? Well now I want you to only score meaningful goals against big clubs, with your weak foot. Yes, HA, bet you can't do that. I bet the Shearer's, Kane's, Aguero's and Haaland's of the world only ever scored meaningful goals, because theyre the only ones that count. right?
  24. None of the usual reliable journos have picked this up so wonder if its got any real legs
  25. Would also prefer this to Osimhen, think that’s got flop written all over it. Only concern with this is the lack of interest he has had and if there are any underlying concerns with his attitude.
