August 26, 20241 yr With under a week to go and with Lukaku done (?) What else is on the go and who needs to go out. I think Kepa, Broja, Anjorin (?) are/were happening Sterling, Chilwell, Casadei, Carney, Datro Fofana, Chalobah have had mentions at some point. Who do we think are in line to move on in this remaining week.
August 26, 20241 yr Still 17 to sell/loan I reckon ... GK: Kepa, Bergstrom, Petrovic DEF: Chalobah, Chilwell, possibly one of Disasi/Badiashile MID: Casadei, Matos ATT MID: Sterling, Chukwuemeka, Vale, Anjorin, Angelo Gabriel FWD: Lukaku, Broja, D.Fofana, Washington Hopefully sign a striker and a centre back.
August 26, 20241 yr Author I thought Casadei to Napoli would be the sweetener for Osimhen in addition to the Lukaku deal, but this McTominay thing might put the kibosh on that as well.

It looks a lot of transactions to conclude, but I reckon 90% of them are fairly well advanced now ... the SDs have been quite good at the selling side of things so far ...

Still think there's a lot to be done tbh and i don't think many clubs have so many moving parts going on at the same time. Seems that medicals seem to take about 2 days nowadays as well 🤣 Edited August 26, 20241 yr by WhiteWall
August 26, 20241 yr We arent brilliant with paperwork, other clubs would be wise to get things done asap 😂
August 26, 20241 yr It probably depends on who wants to continue playing and who prefers to stay in London and collect their wages. With his family probably settled it would be a surprise if Sterling went too far from London and, given his age a return to the England team is unlikely, so his motivation might be an issue.

We will be lucky to get 5 of these done with the time left. All priority should be the high earners, Sterling, Lukaku and Kepa. After that Chilwell, Disasi/Badiashille the rest? Not fussed (except Chuck, wouldn’t mind him going on loan, but do not sell!) Edited August 26, 20241 yr by SimonH
August 27, 20241 yr Media confirming Kepa contract extension to 2026 and loan to Bournemouth. Hopefully we can waive the rule that prevents loanees playing against the parent club.

I read that in here but searched online and couldn’t find a rule about it. I’ve read other comments that teams do it because they don’t want players increasing their value while away and then leaving on a free transfer. If Kepa makes a few saves at Bournemouth that makes the difference between survival and relegation he probably goes from a 10m player to a 40m player.

No, it's to avoid the situation of Kepa leaving on a free transfer at the end of the loan. Along with the extension he has taken a pay cut to help facilitate the loan.

It's gonna be a rush to get players out to other teams , unless stuff has been going on in the background.
August 27, 20241 yr If Kepa is in goal against us in a few weeks we need to shoot even if it's unlikely to get past most keepers . And terrorise him with a barrage of crosses. He'll probably have the game of his life though, knowing our luck .

August 27, 20241 yr If we keep up this «buy one to sell one» strategy we’ll never reduce the actual amount of players we need to sell, so I’ll be happy just to see some pure sales

August 28, 20241 yr Author So the remaining window time has halved since i started this thread and still very little concrete movement. A lot of posturing around Lukaku for Osimhen and Sancho/ Sterling but Anjorin is still the only done deal so far. Harvey Vale to Saudi seems to be the next most reported. If there are any real designs on getting sales completed for Broja, Chalobah, Disasi, DD Fofana, Washington, Petrovic, Carney, Chilwell and Sterling then i reckon somebody is going to have to get a wiggle on.
