Meanwhile you already know you want to sell these other guys, so you showcase them a little, so some lower level teams might make a sufficient offer to generate a transfer fee and get the salaries off your books. If you want to see what Broja can do at this level, you can watch him play for Southampton last season not Minnesota United or El Pumas.

With the suggested targets, I think the best outcome would be that we sign nobody and sell nobody, until we have a sporting director like Edwards that can coordinate team needs with Tuchel and make multilateral decisions with the scouts, boards etc. I know this Youth+Stars strategy works brilliantly for Boehly in baseball, but baseball is sort of an individual team sports. If Oldnaldo doesn´t press properly, like Fatkaku, the whole system falls apart. Your defense is only as strong as your weakest link and the striker is like the press maestro. That´s why the team always looked the best/most cohesive with Havertz or Werner leading the lines.

Better get Michael Edwards in quick. Tuchel is not a good sporting director.

Marina has done good business, but some deals are just so obviously bad you know it the moment they happened. Lukaku was a €50M player at best. You just won the freaking CL with a young front line, that could reasonably be expected to improve. You played with house money. If Haaland wasn´t gettable then you should have sat on it for 12 months and nobody would have been mad. Also always remember Tuchel is a great coach, not a great sporting director. The longer Lukaku drags this out this summer, the higher the chances Tuchel will be forced to use Broja. I think that kid will be a very good player within the next 24 months.

If Inter want him so bad now, they can just forfeit 30% of the original transfer fee and Lukaku can give up part of his wages and we are done. Obviously Inter only want him for "free", Lukaku forfeits half his wages, Inter makes up the difference. Basically what Inter wants to do here, is double the wages of their own player and have Chelsea pays €100M for it. Nice business model.

You know what´s funny. If you look at who won the European throphies this year, it´s broadly speaking all about smart set-ups. Solid defensively, no cheap mistakes, little luck, work hard and counterattack quickly sides with Real Madrid, Eintracht Frankfurt and AS Roma. None of them play the pressing, high line and high possession based style of modern football. They all play outdated football of not f**king up. 😅
