  1. Ridiculously good player. When we have a top manager hopefully next season I can see Enzo being a KDB figure for us in midfield he'll be key for us.
  2. Did he? Or were we just playing well because of the individual quality of Enzo and Felix in particular Playing well for 20 minutes isn't an achievement, we have 2 (3 you count Mudryk) £100m top young talents I'd expect Bright moments and flair at a minimum but I don't see how Potter is getting the best of them or even what his system is. Just looks like a couple of high quality players playing against one of the worst teams in the league but getting no instructiono or tactical help from their manager.
  3. People say the season is over but I'm not prepared to write off the CL With these players and the poor state of the top clubs around Europe I genuinely think we can win it but there is obviously no chance of that happening while we have the worst manager in the entire competition So for me Potter has to go tonight, get a new manager in for the Dormund tie even if it's just the 2nd leg and really have a go at salvaging this season
  4. Ok performance today but ok isn't good enough with the quality we've brought in. you can have any squad in world football, spend £600m every window. But no club will ever challenge for a champions league spot with a manager as bad as Graham Potter in charge. we've won 2 of our last 13 PL games and he still has a better record here than he had a at Brighton. You don't win many games with Potter in charge regardless of how much time he has. Simply one of the worst managers in the PL and that isn't good enough for our stature or level of investment.
  5. Mudryk has already been Graham Pottered and can we please arrange a paternity test for Ruben, there's no reason for Potter to have him play every minute he's fit unless he's his love child. That said his subs show Potter likes the slow game so RLC is perfect for him.
  6. It's embarrassing we've spent £600m over the last 2 windows and deadwood like Ruben is still starting games for us. Makes me wish Jorginho was back. God speed.
  7. Ten Haag isn't Mourinho, I'm not sure I'd even back him to win a title there but there's no way anyone can deny he's done a significantly better job than Potter since they both came in. And given we're the only 2 big clubs to change managers this season the comparison will be there, he's giving United supporters belief that they're building something which is something we're not getting from Potter After 5 months it's clear to see which manager is having a positive impact on his club and people will question while our manager is having the opposite effect
  8. Your drivel is better off ignored as you obviously made a random throw away comment to defend Potter and blame Tuchel for no reason but obviously know nothing about football and mistakenly compared our mismanaged midfield to one of the few teams who have mismanaged their midfield even more over the last few years. A team in a much worse state than ours this summer who spent less but have actually seen improvement because they've brought in a much better coach than we have, who has managed to integrate his new signings while we're yet to show many signs of building towards a cohesive team with ours. it's a good comparison but only to show how poorly we've done not to excuse Potter so you can ramble about Tuchel. the bolded part made me laugh. Nothing like seeing idiots that don't understand basic English try and criticise the thinking and words of others. A poster best left on ignore it seems.
  9. I really hope English isn't your first language. no one agrees with your idiotic statement that when Ten Haag came in he had a functioning midfield to build on. The fact he had to sign and integrate a whole new midfield proves otherwise. Why people like this guy still try to argue their point when confronted with the fact it's factually incorrect I'll never know
  10. This comment is absolutely hilarious given United had by far the worst midfield in the entire league when Ten Haag came in. Pogba had just left after running his contract down, McFred were memes for years. Ten Haag has signed 3 new first choice midfielders in Casemiro, Eriksen and Sabitzer and has integrated them all quickly. That's what top managers do, they integrate and stamp their mark on their teams quickly. Obviously no one would argue Potter is in Ten Haags class which is why I ask why we should be backing a manager so clearly inferior to the managers of all our rivals?
  11. If Boehly remains committed to Potter we might not qualify for it
  12. I disagree with every word of this, I think a lot of Chelsea supporters want a long term manager and are happy to see a long term project. We just disagree said project should be overseen by a manager who in his previous job spent more than double what Pulis did at Stoke and what Dyche did at Burnley while achieving worse results, having a lower win percentage, less goals per game, more goals conceded per game and really not doing a particularly good job by any measure other than being praising for his style of play which for some reason didn't result in many goals or wins. Potter going from the were he was to managing us is remarkable but it isn't a remarkable story of achievement, It's remarkable because there's no reason we or any top club should have even considered him after how average he was at Brighton, not bad but he certainly didn't do such a good job there you'd expect him to have been linked with a top club or get a 5 year 60m contract anywhere.
  13. Every top club hired a manager that had more than a 28% win rate in the league at his previous club. That may have been a more traditional option than hiring a proven medicore manager and then hiring all kinds of additional specialists to supplement him. The winning mentality has to be set by the manager if Potter doesn't have it no amount of specialist coaches will fix that.
  14. And it will be the best £60m Boehly has spent since he bought the club. There's not a player on the planet We can buy for £600m that would be a bigger upgrade than going from Potter to Pep. The extra revenue from actually qualifying for the CL in the next 5 seasons will more than cover it
  15. If any club had even the slightest hint they could get Pep they're not going to miss that opportunity to back Graham Potter. Brighton would have sacked Potter on the spot last season if a top coach like Pep, Klopp, Ancelotti or Tuchel said in a presser their ambition was to coach Brighton
  16. I bloody hope not. If we get a points deduction like Juve while Potter is still in charge we'll go down!
  17. It's a good question. Personally I think it needs clarity as I think Potter could probably win us the championship playoff trophy if he takes us down, Boehly remains fully committed to him and he gets another £300m that Summer But I don't think there's any chance of Potter ever challenging for a premier league title or having us in the mix for the biggest cup competitions either here or at any club. You've got to consistently win games and score goals to win titles titles and there's no indication in Grahams career he can manage a team that regularly does that on top of that he clearly isn't a very good tactician who thrives in high pressure knockout ties. The top managers have such a winning mentality and relentless drive to win sometimes it feels like their sheer will carries their team over the line, I think Potter has the opposite mentality he's a manager that doesn't have the drive or desire needed to win every game, 1 win a month does Potter just fine and he's all smiles there's no feeling that he'll ever be a manager competing for the highest honours.
  18. https://thetopflight.com/2021/12/01/graham-potters-brighton-fans/ Maybe but maybe not given they regularly booed him off the pitch when his Brighton team were playing their turgid football on some of their regular 2 month winless runs
  19. Just to clarify when you ask will Potter win us a league in 5 seasons do you specifically mean the Premier league? I'm sure with another couple hundred million once he takes us down we'd be able to make a fantastic run at the championship.
  20. I find Klopp extremely unlikeable but I think he's one of those managers that you'd absolutely love if he managed your club and hate if he manages a rival. He's a bit like the Anti Potter, Graham is a manager you typically hate if he's at your club and there's never a shortage of rival fans imploring you to keep him.
  21. With a better manager next season I Believe it.
  22. I didn't. The point at Anfield is one of the most embarrassing results we've had in years. Liverpool were that bad that day, they got beat 3-0 by Brighton the week before, 3-1 by Brentford the week before that 3-0 by Wolves today and they were worse against us than in all of them. I'd have fancied any team in the league to beat them comfortably but we simply don't score goals under Potter regardless of the opposition 5 in our last 12
  23. I'm not sure it's fair to say Ziyech has Potter at gun point. Hakim spent all January trying to get away from Potter. Wouldn't surprise me if it was Graham who sabotaged the paperwork so he could keep Ziyech in his starting 11.
  24. Have we? I've been a supporter for 28 years so just caught Hoddle who was in charge when I really started following the club. Potter is comfortably the worst Chelsea manager in that time. the worst results, the worst demeanour, the worst style of play and the worst resume excluding managers just starting their careers. There's absolutely nothing positive to take from Potter being here which is why when people defend him they can only pretend he's going to be like one of the few managers who turned it around rather than focusing on signs of what Potter is actually doing here. Just talking to fellow supporters around London the only manager I can recall us having who was so disliked and uninspiring was the Fat Spanish interim and that was because of comments he had made about the club he was obviously a much better manager than Potter.
  25. You've not got the point you think you do. Howe was hired by the team Rock Bottom of the league, no top side would have gone near him but he's done a fantastic job and rebuilt his reputation. Credit to him. The 1st CL win is still my happiest moment in football but I'm not going to pretend like it was due to some elite management and I think Robbies managerial career after us shows his level Why anyone would compare Vialli , Ruud or Ateta in their first ever management jobs to a manager that has won less than a third of his games over the last decade is beyond me though. Every successful manager was once a blank slate. I can't think of a single manager going from winning 28% of their league games at their previous club and his teams scoring a goal a game for a decade going on to be a trophy winning manager at a top club but hey Maybe Potter will be the first. Everyone's got to believe in something, right?
