Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea Manager
And at what point does a manager take responsibility for every team he's ever coached being unable to score goals? Brighton are now scoring nearly twice as many goals per game under De Zerbi as they did under Potter with the same set of players. They've beat Liverpool 3-0 last week and put another 3 past them at Anfield as well. They nearly never scored more than a goal a game under Potter Of course our players aren't the prolific sort but it does make you wonder what kind of finishing drills are involved in Potters training methods given no player he's ever coached in England can hit a barn door.

Todays draw is not a good result. This is a Liverpool side that was there for the taking.

Mykhailo Mudryk signs for Chelsea
I'd agree Ziyech is definitely a much better footballer than Pulisic as he's actually good at something. But his lack of pace, athleticism and upper body strength means he struggles massively to threaten the opposition even when he's got a defender 1 vs 1. Mudryk, Felix and Noni all look like they'll be able to do a lot more in that regard so we should be a lot more exciting.

I don't think people understand just how bad pulisic and Ziyech are. I honestly don't think either start for another team in the entire league We saw it with Felix as well as Mudryk today but any decent winger would be a massive breath of fresh air. Exciting to see actual quality wide players here

Liverpool v Chelsea (PL) Sat 21st Jan 2023 12:30 GMT
Another game we fail to score under Potter and another game we never look like scoring in a million years aside from Mudryks individual quality creating something out of nothing. The performance wasn't bad but this is a very very poor Liverpool side and we weren't able to really threaten them despite than conceding goals and chances at will against everyone else. As midtable a clash as it gets.

I think there's a balance. Obviously we all want to see academy prospects doing well and it feels extra special to see them performing in the team. Seeing players Like Mount and Reece in the team makes me extremely happy as I've seen them progress through the youth system until the team. But I think some people take it too far to the point they pretend useless deadwood like Loftus Cheek are worth a squad spot solely because they came from the youth academy despite proving otherwise on an almost weekly basis. Being from Cobham should be a nice bonus or a small positive and not the entire reason a poor plauer is wasting a squad spot.

Official Thomas Tuchel *Now Sacked*
Conte massively improved spurs when they sacked their midtable deadwood manager and they pipped Arsenal to 4th. There's probably a lesson there.

Are you being sarcastic or trolling? or are you Todd himself? You can make a much more convincing argument we have the worst owners in football rather than the best. Todd has been a disaster , a whole lot of money thrown around generally to make us worse, on the pitch, in the dugout, in the medical department, negotiating transfers, the high wages we've given to old players particularly Koulibaly and Azpi and even publically with his 4-4-3 and north vs south Allstar game. He's a bit of a mad dog and I worry for the future of the club now more than ever given what we've seen from Boehly.

You tell me it's your dream He's had a proper chance, Potter has already managed more games for us than Nuno did at Spurs. Hasn't managed to live up to Nunos win percentage there though. Not that you'd expect him to given Nuno at Wolves was a cut above Potter at Brighton and the step up is hard. If Potter starts showing something he'll have my support but I'm not going to blindly back the worst manager we've had in decades with the worst resume who then immediately sends us on our worst run since April 1996. He has everything to prove. A real question is what would it take for you to admit Potter isn't the right man given 2 wins in 11 games apparently isn't enough? Do we need to be relegated or would that be part of our long term project under Potter? Where's the line?

Liverpool v Chelsea (PL) Sat 21st Jan 2023 12:30 GMT
Given De Zerbi took over one of the lowest scoring teams in the league last season and his Brighton have put 3 past Liverpool both times they've played them I expect a similar quality of attacking performance from us. Yes it's Anfield but given how poor Liverpool are and VVD being injured there's no excuse for us not to see some kind of attacking performance. If we get another 0.1 Xg 1 shot Potter masterclass he should walk because this is a winnable game.

Jorginho is.... (well now was) a Blue
I think a lot of people have got fixated on this obsession with Rice because of his roots so won't allow themselves to admit Declan is bang average and for the money he'd cost there are dozens of better midfielders so instead incessantly compare him physically to Jorgi. Really don't see why people would want Rice over people like Enzo, Milinkovic Savic, Bennacer, Caicedo etc

70m yen perhaps. Both players were offered all around Europe in the summer and no one wanted them. Ziyech had a good world cup and there is a market for him but his age profile won't lead to a high transfer fee. Pulisic is a complete lost cause as he has 1 year he's injury prone and wouldn't start for any team that would pay his wages. He's not even like Werner or Lukaku who we could send back to their previous clubs because he was poor for Dortmund as well. We'd do well to get 30m for the pair but I don't know who would want Pulisic Gallagher is one of the few squad players we have that would command a high fee who may not be suited to elite technical football. I can see him being moved on in the summer for 30-40m

He'd just met Potter for the first time and been told he'll be our new wing back.

Increase of Unsavoury Incidents at Football
I Don't mind anything that happens on the pitch people can be overcome with emotion in the moment and if that leads to a few tears or frustration I think it's fine it humanises the players and it's really no big deal. What really irritates though Is the whiny babies that pre-mediate their crying, things like Ronaldo arranging an interview to cry that he isn't good enough to play premier league football anymore and that he's been betrayed by the manager benching him as well as one of our own bench warmers writing a whole book crying that he isn't good enough to play for a serious club and Tuchel let him down by benching him. I miss when everyone wanted to play their part for the team even if it was smaller than they'd like but there are too many subs with the egos of starters that take things outside the club once they fail to convince their manager that they're good enough.

Welcome To Chelsea Thiago Silva *Official*
We're not winning the title in the next 2 years and I'm not sure we can really offer him what he deserves on the pitch I love Silva but doubt he would want to stay past this summer he doesn't want to be finishing midtable in his final years and given his wife isn't a very big fan of the manager we can assume Silva isn't either. I expect he'll leave in the summer but he's been fantastic for us and still shines like a man in his prime years.

Raheem Sterling signs for Chelsea
Can you blame him? Sterling is a winner and going from being coached by Guardiola then Tuchel to the personification of Midtable must be incredibly frustrating especially in the prime of his career. I do find it strange how many are so quick to give up on Sterling and back Potter when Raheem was our best player at the start of the season and looked fantastic under Tuchel it was only when Potter came in and played him at wingback while our 60m wingback played at centre back his form spiralled. A top manager gets the most out of his players and I think Raheem still has a lot to give here either under Potter or when we replace him.

Have faith, we're about to get one of Potters famous game changing half time team talks. Final score Chelsea 0 -2 Palace.

Chelsea v Crystal Palace (PL) Sun 15th Jan 2023 14:00 GMT
Give his teams have failed to score in more than 50% of the halfs he's coached since the start of last season he must be used to it by now.

Mykhailo Mudryk signs for Chelsea
I thought Mini Haaland was a teenager. He's 22 and played 60 games in the Ukraine league in his career. WTF. What justifies a 100m fee?

And a new manager probably a new owner as well and of the course the stadium is long due an upgrade....

Chelsea v Crystal Palace (PL) Sun 15th Jan 2023 14:00 GMT
Think Potter is going to get a good result tomorrow. But a good result for Potter in games like this last season was a 1-1 draw with his team having a higher XG and the talking heads talking about how great he was so I'm not holding out for a win.

Should Graham Potter be sacked? (2nd poll)
The fact you'll include Weghorst that hasn't even played a minute this season and are ignoring we spent £60m on the best performer Potter has coached in his entire career in the summer is crazy. Neither Antony or Malacia are even starters and he lost his only striker. I thought the whole Point of Potter was that he improves players and doesn't need to spend big money, Isn't that supposed to be the takeaway from his achievements coaching 1 legged Swedish eskimos in the Swedish 4th tier? That the quality is so low but Potter can improve players and get his methods across. If that's the case why is the whole squad regressing to 1 legged eskimo tier at a rate of knots? If we were looking for a manager to back with big money to consistently win games and trophies we should have hired a manager who has a record of doing just that.

Should Graham Potter be sacked? (2nd poll)
The club look like mugs hiring him. Better managers than Potter will always come for the big money. Better managers than Potter would have come for a third of what we gave him. Why we felt the need to offer him £12m a season for 5 years I'll never know. Manchester United are showing the difference a proper manager can make, do we really believe we should be finishing 20 to 30 points behind them after we comfortably finished above them last season and outspent them in the summer? If Potter had taken over United in the summer they'd be 10th now and we'd all be laughing at them and saying they need to clear out deadwood like Rashford and Shaw

Should Graham Potter be sacked? (2nd poll)
That's fair enough but why would you or anyone else love Potter? I don't want to criticise the mans personality as when you win 1 game a month and regularly go double digits without wins there's plenty to criticise but even ignoring the fact he's the worst manager we've had in decades he's hardly an endearing character that really connects with the supporters is he? We've had some big characters and personalities in the dugout and guys with fire in their belies who made you really want to listen to their press conferences and connect with the club even when we weren't playing well. Potter is a cup of cold piss in comparison it's incredibly demoralising and demotivating to see him as the face of the club he comes across as a natural loser. I suppose like a Guy who won 28% of his league games at his previous club rather than having the ego and pride of a winner like most of our previous coaches but given they all came with better resumes than Potter it isn't really a surprise. Other than Lampard of course but he certainly had the winning mentality that fit the the club even if he was otherwise lacking.
