Depends on the formation, If we are going 3-4-2-1 I always had Enzo playing as one of the 2 he could push back but then we have the same issues in that he's just get run past and hoenstly I don't think he even likes playing in that 6/8 role. With his worldcup performance and contract term and the other transfers in the market he has to be 130-150. Only madrid can do that but if he puts on another decent showing tomorrow then maybe. On rogers, I thought that we were always opposed to him because of cross over with palmer? and then I remembered he's ex city youth so thats just what we do Any chance of a GK?

Andrey Santos Signs for Chelsea
Lets note forget that potter from hire to fire cost us over 30 million

Edmond Tapsoba
If we are playing 3 at the back I wonder how much we need another CB, i could easily see a back 3 of Josh, Colwill and Hato As we saw under Conte what might be a week back 4 line up turns in to something rather more solid, James can easily come in and do a Job at right CB as can Trev, the key as we have seen in recent weeks in colwill, when he goes down we are so much weaker. and we have to clear out some of the dross, i.e Tosin The absolute first position should be a keeper

I'm trying to work out if you considered the neurodiversity of the author (me) before you decided to mock, I promise it's easier for you to understand what I mean't then it is for me to spell it.

Next Coach?
Its not even close, they are leagues away in terms of relative experience . Jose's existence did not begin when he won the CL with porto, lets put aside the aprentaship he served under Robson and VanGal wich spanned almost 10 years, his time at benfica and Leiria the latter of which was seen as a huge success, enough for porto to come and get him. Porto were not in good shape when he turned up and he transformed them, dont forget that the season prior they won the the Europa leage and all the domestic trophies and they the CL and league double of course. In terms of ready made manager's there was not a better option on the planet, the completed article with everything still to prove. Alonso would be my prefered choice, but he could easily be another Villas-Boas.

Next Coach?
I think you could have made that argument with Potter at brighton, if we hadn't taken him he would have taken another fairly good job by now, probably the same outcome. our best managers had no prem experience. In fact the only person to have managed two clubs and won the league with the second of them is Claudio. What we need is some one who can walk in to a room look the likes of Enzo in the eyes and say you have done nothing in the game as far as im concered, i'm putting my medals on the table for you and if you follow me you will have a bunch of these as well, if you don't f*ck of out the club. As I write that it's worth noting that no manager will succeed under these conditions

Next Coach?
This a thousand times, some of the converstations i'm seeing flying around (some in jest i know), look Ireola has done great at bourmouth but he's not going to walk in to the chelsea dressing room with a group of players who think they are better then they are and control the narative. There has to be a respect level that will have them run through a brick wall for him, that can be force of personality or medals on the table. Simeone can do both!

Liam Rosenior - Chelsea Head Coach *Now Sacked*
I know it would have been hard to turn it down but this outcome was clear and obviuse before the ink on his contract was signed, Fail forward and fast is not really an option in top level football. He had no resume and ultimately couldn't get the team to buy in to anything. Very few people can skip the important steps in life, even Lampard who i think did a great job with us wasn't actually ready for the job. You can' buy borrow or steal experience and we now have enough data points to know this.

Liam Rosenior - Chelsea Head Coach *Now Sacked*
Im not sure if he's worse then potter, at least potter had come kind of half decent resume. Ok so he worse then potter, I don't think i've felt this bad about a manager since Claudio and right now Claudio would be a gift!! But the manager feels like the least of our problems, this ownership and management group has done serious long lasting damage to the club, its pure neglagence what has occured and i'm afraid that are not even at the start of the downward trajectory we are about to come in In the almost 4 years since they brought the club: No closer to a new Staduim, a commitment that was made as part of the aquastition F*cked over life long fans shifting them out of their seats to increase corporate sales Spent most of the time with out a font of shirt sponsor (Despite telling us that the previous ownership were doing a shoddy job) managed to achieve the lofty title of the biggest year on year loss of any premier league club. Only managed to comply with finicale rules by selling the hotel and women team... to them selves.. have employed back to back managers who are basically competition winners Made brighton very rich For most of the time, minus the last 10 or so games of the poch era the product on the pitch has been awful.

Mykhailo Mudryk signs for Chelsea
Assuming it was true which I can find no evidence of, he'd be back December this year

Jamie Gittens joins Chelsea
We seem to be the project for Joe Shields trying to prove what an amazing scout he was at city, he had one win with Palmer, he would be right about Lavia if he could stay fit, I can even kind of justify Delap, but he's really dining out on that Palmer win
-
Liam Rosenior - Chelsea Head Coach *Now Sacked*
Was happy to give him a go, even with huge reservations but the evidence is pretty clear. You can't buy, borrow or steal experience, and it is so obvious in this case. He had nothing on his resume that qualified him for this job (Side note that I also felt the time came to soon for frank but he had more then Liam) people think a Jose was just an overnight hit, Jose who spent years under bobby and VanGal before taking on a number of clubs in portugal, and we only plucked him at the peak of his powers, carlo and conte the same, Chelsea should not be a learn on the job club. Maresca at least had served some kind of half decent apprentaship but he also wasn't ready. Needs to go and soon, but beyond there the broom needs to keep sweeping all the way to the top.

This is it. He has answered the initial questions, put some credit in the bank ( boy did he need it) and the improved speed of our game is evident, but does it scale. Can he make us hard to play against, put a bit of a nasty streak in to the team. I'm trying to ignore the fact that I basically want ever manager to be 2005 Jose.. The gap between us and top 2 is much bigger then the 3 places in the table suggests. I have no confidence in our ability to see a tight game out, not his fault but it is on him to fix it. If he goes all Claudio in the weeks to come and put's us in a damage limitation posture it will say a lot

United might just be a better run club then us... I mean they have a sponor.

My thoughts, The actor comment above is about on the money, he does seem to be trying to encompass the characteristics of other great managers and it's sadly so inauthentic, which is a shame because he seems like a genuinely nice guy and by all accounts anyone who has had anything to do with him says great things. I hate to say it but I just don't see him having the tools to get the job done.. That said, reading the comments in the thread does feel like there is a lot of bias leading here, we have decided he's terrible so the product on the pitch is under the highest scrutiny. It wasn't great, we could have lost as easily as we won... but then how many games have we seen this season that have been any different? a handful? I long for game control and winning by design, the truth is we don't have the players, he can take some blame for that Tosin should only be wheeled out if the Kit man can't get him self available but lets be honest, even Trev isn't top top level, Forfana colwill both fit and firering wold be interesting, and I believe Josh could become somthing special but we really miss that claiming influence. I'd say the same about the center mid's, do we have that player who we can just give the ball to and control the tempo? Was supposed to be Enzo but it isn't (And i like Enzo, he will be amazing at real) Now the good, I think pedro's goal came as a direct result of our constant pressing - we are clearly trying to get the ball back faster and that chance came from players closing down instead of back off. Ultimately, I feel he will not make it out of the season, he does look like a competition winner, but to early just to call time

No body is denying the existence of actions or the stern gang, nor the hebron massacre, not the expulsion of ni on a million Jews from Arab countries, or the al husami meeting with Hitler. Or for that matter Stallin, killing over 20 million people, the atrocities of history are not confined to the jews, the middle east or any other one, pol pot etc etc, from some vantage points hiroshama... the rights and wrong of history have been and will be be debated adnosiam, im sure there is a history thread around here some where that I have no intention of gong any where near. All that said, i'm not sure what any of it has to do with Jezza's disproportionate obsession with the Jewish people. Honestly, I don't believe he's a nazi, actually i would argue strongly against it, I think we call that way to easily now because it's lost its meaning. But you don't have to be Nazi to be an anti semite. I do believe this thread may well be shut down, our I might be looking down the barrel of a warning, or possible suspension, maybe even a complete ban, who know's. So that will be my last on the topic, if you would like to discuss it further and in a respectful manner, you can DM me (we have DM's here right?)

I do not think my keeper and defensive line should be playing keep ball in a meter squared area of each other. but point taken

When you believe in the dissolution of the world's only Jewish state, it might a bit of a clue, when you openly invite an organisation like Hamas and Hezbollah to parliment (despite there very obvious stated aim for being in existence, Should we quote narshralla, the dearly departed leader of Hezboulla who asked allah to bring all the jews to Israel so he can kill them all in one place? ) that might be a clue. Or we could look at his quotes around UK jewry not really getting "English Irony" By the way, during all of this, there was no October 7th and there was not even the suggestion of a genocide, (and there still is no genocide by any legal mesure) so yes when you single out one population for constant criticism, it might be because you have a bit of an agenda there (like being on the pay role of Iranian state TV) Any way, I generally stick to the football sections of this forum to avoid this kind of garbage.

Enzo Maresca - Chelsea "Head Coach" *Official NOW SACKED*
I think quoting the great Brian Clough is required: Football is a simple game made complicated by... Any way, what a joy it was to see center mids play in center mid, to see Full backs hugging the touchline and getting up and down, helping out there more talented winger. I do however fear for the future.

Benoît Badiashile joins Chelsea
Like I say, if your going to pick them, you say defend hard and boot long when ever you have the ball. How bad does it have to get for Josh to get a game but honestly i'm sick of overlapping full backs, slow pointless build up, possesion for the sake of possesion.

Benoît Badiashile joins Chelsea
Similar sentiment, We had dinner at friends so save for the first 15 mins I was spared the rest of the game but ill quote my message in "Badiashille, FFS, a granteed gift a game" He's not good enough, but its still la a symptom of the same thing, the first goal we conceded against newcastle came from a throw not that far from their box! with no plan, no urgency and no energy we end up on the edge of our own box and on that occation it was Wes (who is good enough) They are out there half asleep some times and this comes from maresca. Also just honestly if you know Badisahille can't really pass the ball out and can get caught, take that issue away from him

What happens when you don't have any help from a full back or any one else. Its easy and predictable.

Enzo Maresca - Chelsea "Head Coach" *Official NOW SACKED*
I'm mostly Maresca out, I was actually Maresca not in, in the first place. There is a little bit of me that say's consistency will only come with time and he's done enough to deserver it. But ultimately I don't think he has the emotional energy to get the best of this group. In addition he's not the tactical master he's been made out to be. I'm not buying the experience thing any more. We have enough players with multiple seasons and internationals in our squad. He's just not able to get them moving, Being overwhelmed by Leeds and Newcastle in the first half an hour is unacceptable, he should have had the team ready for it, yet those away trips are carbon copies of the same issue. All that said, I really don't know who we will get it, 22 years ago as we finally saw the end of another tinkering italian who couldn't get any consistency out of his team we where linked with the absolute top brass of management and ended up with an in his prime Jose fresh of the Champions league win. Let's not forget that Maresca was in recruitment pool with Mckenna and Frank, and if we sack Maresca we will probably look at the same type of profile.
