  1. I don't care whether you agree with Qaz or not but don't waltz in here and on your fourth post insult someone who has been on here a long long time. Especially if your opinion happens to be in direct contradiction to that of the board admin
  2. You're wrong there - I said, look what happened after we beat Man City 6-0. Remember? A series of uninspired, dreadful performances. So we beat West Ham 4-0. That had more to do with their ineptitude than anything else. And today had everything to do with Grant's ineptitude as a manager, as did the Carling Cup Final. If we win anything this season, even if we finish in a Champions League spot - which is not a forgone conclusion, this will (as I'm sure I'm not the first to have pointed out) be in spite of Grant, not because of Grant. Careful Lofty, facts not too welcome on this board. Cue Grantistas blaming the players.....ZZZZzzzzzzzzz
  3. lol will be funny watching Loz and Chippy defend their hero after this. Then again, we're still on for two trophies, eh? ROFL!
  4. And who decides what's credible? You? Oh dear. Move along original poster, nothing to see here, move along. As far as Jose coming back I think Qaz was correct in that he was misquoted or possibly taken out of context. Although I would truly fear for Loz and Chippy's mental health if Jose were to return. Of course, stranger things have happened...
  5. oh my, is it that transparent? I was hoping you lot would help with my next batch of stories...deadlines you know!
  6. Short answer is no. They didn't start writing that he would be sacked until the rift with Roman appeared last Dec/Jan and was smugly dismissed as "it's just papers talking their usual rubbish". And if you had done that from the beginning of his tenure I think you would have been sacked a long time ago. Actually it was a pretty big surprise as I remember everyone on here saying "it's just papers talking their usual rubbish". Not only that, we could certainly use their help right about now, that is unless you think Tal Ben Haim i a better CB than Gallas? Hence the whole premise of my original post. Who cares? There are two players they said we'd sign well before anyone on here was willing to believe it, and only one of those players has turned up. Moos, I've just made a list of all the big stories they got right and you've simply ignored and countered with "those aren't the big stories". The fact is, they are getting more right than wrong when it comes to the big stories surrounding Chelsea.
  7. You are correct. Especially when it came to JT regarding his influence in helping Jose out the door. But they might be correct about Sheva in that he's not been seen for donkeys and is probably off to whatever backwater league will take him. I honestly think he might move to the US if one fo the teams there came in for him - problem is, he wouldn't cut it there either. Let's add one to the got it wrong list... WRONG: Roman Lost Interest/Selling Club Ronaldinho Arrivial in January (08) Lampard Leaving in January (08) JT Rowing with/Influencing Mourinho's Departure .
  8. Actually that's incorrect. In fact, in our recent history they get it right on the big stories more often than not, and well before the events finally come to pass. Then again, those of you who believe the papers influence events at the club will never be convinced, so look away now. The point of this is far too many people dismiss as out of hand any story appearing in the press, especially in the red tops, as conjecture or speculation. These papers, The Sun in particular, have been correct on the major issues more often than not in our recent history. I'm not saying we have to believe everything they say as gospel truths, but equally, it can't be dismissed quite as easily as some on here would like to pretend. DEFINITIONS: Correct = Event came to pass either months, weeks, or days after the story broke Incorrect = Event has not come to pass and has been refuted by the club or players. Event showing no outward signs of transpiring. CORRECT: Ranieri being Sacked Sven Sought as Ranners Replacement Mourinho courted Mourinho Signed Drogba Arrival Frink Rikjaard Enters Frisk Dressing Room Mourinho Communicating through Ear Piece Ashley Cole Tap Up Row Gallas Wanting Out Arrival of Ashley Cole Arrival of Sheva Arrival of Ballack Mourinho Abramovich Rows Roman Refuses To Buy Players (Jan 07) Chelsea Court Klinsmann Robben Wanting Out Mourinho Being Sacked Player Unrest WRONG: Roman Lost Interest/Selling Club Ronaldinho Arrivial in January (08) Lampard Leaving in January (08) I'm sure if I had the time I could think of a few more. Also, please, please, please save all of us the time and refrain from posting events that are not major club news (e.g., Chelsea Tap Up Leeds Youngsters - even though that was correct, too!)
  9. Alternatively, you could go follow Sp*rs? Still, nice 2nd post on the site. Though considering your first post was: -------------------------- How about to get rid of fans: 1. Who don't support their team, when it is loosing. 2. Who calling to sack manager after he's received death threats and may be was a little distraught from the game. 3. Who badmouth the owner, which to continue to invest time and money despite gigantic losses. -------------------------- ...I suppose calling someone a moron is a step up. Can't wait to read your third post. Feel free to PM me and let me know which thread it's under. I'd so hate to miss it. Careful Brian, Thought Police will be round to accuse you of Anti-Semitism shortly. Starting in 3...2...1...
  10. How dare you insult the Anti-Christ like that. The nerve.
  11. No Need to worry about formations dkw, Uncle Avi has it all sorted. West Ham are a undoubtably a great team and Upton is one of the hardest places to get a point, let a lone all three. But I think it's time we all got behind Avi and give him a chance. If he wins or draws this game it will prove beyond any shadow of doubt that he can deliver in the clutch.
  12. I predict we will beat West Ham handily and all the Grantistas will be out in force saying "I told you he could win the big games!" Actually they'll be saying that whether we win big, just scrape it, or draw.
  13. Be careful...Thought Police are lurking...
  14. More like the players targeted (Kaka, Villa) wouldn't dare ruin their careers with a move to play under his guidance.
  15. Certainly can do nothing if we don't express displeasure to club. No, you don't have to write to Santa Claus, but it's a good start.
  16. Chippy, we have disagreed on this for a while now, but I have respected your glass half full approach (maybe not publically, but I have!). However, with this statement I can now only believe you are on a wind up?
  17. End of the season? Most of the Avi-Brigade think he should have until the end of NEXT season! By then we will have undone all the work put in by Ranieri and Jose. My fear is Roman punishing us by leaving Avi in charge, as punishment for the ungrateful response to the appointment of his mate.
  18. The article goes on to say "Didier Drogba made a big fuss of celebrating with Ballack after opening the scoring in the first half, indicating that he thought Grant was wrong to leave out the midfielder." Even though it's speculation by the journalist, it's speculation based on being witness to an undeniable event. Good thing Didi knows an imposter when he sees one and isn't afraid to speak his mind. I was wondering who he was running over to and calling to come down, guess it was Ballack.
  19. Not to worry Valerie. Loz and several others have assured me that none of our current players will want away from Grant (and if they do then they're the one's missing out!). I've have also been told in no uncertain terms that the world's best up and coming young talent will flock to our doors for the opportunity to learn from the great master TWO Israeli league titles and ONE Israeli Cup win (in four attempts). See, everything is fine.
  20. you're havin a laugh! Which set of players ran themselves into the ground and which set strolled about looking as if they couldn't be arsed?
  21. There was a news story somewhere (can't find it now - will try again later) shortly after The Cadaver was appointed that Kenyon and Buck disagreed with Roman over appointing Grant. To paraphrase, it was suggested they told Roman he did not have the skills or credentials to manage a team full of internationals. They suggested letting Clarke run things as interim until they could find a suitable replacement - maybe a Capello, Lippi, Klinsmann, etc. Roman said no, and a vote was called to appoint Avram. Guess who won the vote?
  22. That is not the point. I agree he may have "delegated" this responsibility to JT, Clarke, Ten Cate, or his Gran for all I care. The problem is there are times when leadership must come from the top and that includes yesterday. I'm not saying it would have changed anything because the players wouldn't have been able to understand his mumbling jibberish, but if he'd at least made an effort to rally the troops then it would have gone a long way toward dispelling the conjecture about his function on staff.
  23. Sorry Chippy, but leadership comes from the top. No need to over analyse or try and morph into something it's not. Leadership comes from Fergie and Wenger for their teams, and even the Fat Spanish Waiter shows leadership when needed. Wenger doesn't yell and scream at his players but he certainly is their leader when times are tough he's the one (not Pat Rice) telling them where they should be and what they should be doing.
  24. hear hear! About time someone posted some common sense round this place.
