Grant to be given £100 million by Roamn to strengthen the squad....wtf!!!!!!

If this is true, he will buy all the wrong players.

Need to get a world class manager first and then carefully think which areas need strengthening and not to spend for the sake of it.

We need to spend wisely.

Hmmm. 100 million for Grant to spend, huh?

Nice of Chelsea to let that little cat out of the bag. Otherwise we might think the press picked a number at random to sell a few papers.

Grant was employed originally as director as football, isn't part of the job spec for that to buy players???? If that's the case then the club must have faith in him to do the buying, it's getting them to actually play that seems to be the problem.

Fair point, he would have learnt a lot from 'arry

Yep, must be an absolute pro at taking a bung or two now.

This is the danger, letting this rather below average manager another chance and a chance to rebuild. Just bring in someone who has a few credentials Roman ffs, give them the dosh not someone who is so clearly out of his depth at this level.

Just playing devils advocate and not really my opinions but. RA bough Grant in as director of football, the main part of that role is to buy players????? Regardless of if grant is to stay on as manager he is going to be given the funds to spend????

If those two summisations are true, then where is the news in this item?

But is he purchasing players of his selection (if Sheva is anything to go by under JM then NO)

or

Bringing in players who have been targeted, but he just goes and gets them?

According to a press rumour he was in America scouting Klinsmann for us while still working at Pompey 300.gif , I doubt he did that off his own back!

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/arti...ticle_id=449929

''Grant attended the meeting with Klinsmann, 42, the former Bayern Munich, Tottenham and Germany striker, even though he is still employed by Portsmouth in the capacity he will take up at Stamford Bridge next season. ''

Roman says what he wants, Grant goes and does it - sadly thats how it works!

If you believe what some people are saying, the players targeted won't be his choice anyway.

More like the players targeted (Kaka, Villa) wouldn't dare ruin their careers with a move to play under his guidance.

Right. I'm rather worried that not many quality players in their right minds would want to come to Chelsea. Or am I being too gloomy right now?

Klinsman?! God I hope not. Anyway, I think that Grant will be moved back upstairs in the summer. The only other alternative is they allow him to buy and form a team that is more in his vision. However, should that happen, and he fails (and I have seen nothing yet that would make me think otherwise), then we will have just spunked 100 million up the wall
