This issue has been overplayed on these boards ever since Mata failed to claim a starting spot in Mourinhos Chelsea. Then it was Oscars severe dip in form . The culprit was, once again, international football. The fact of the matter is, plenty of players are irreplaceable both at their club, and in their national team as well. Sure they may feel the effects of a big summer tournament, but if theyre fit, they should be able to start at least once a week, as soon as the season starts.

Absolutely ridiculous You honestly think Barkley/Shaw not going to Chelsea/Man Utd/City will hurt the national squad? Good thing Rodwell and Zaha moved then, where would England be without those 2? A price cap would ruin even more english players. Top clubs would just buy them in bulk to make up the numbers.
