Chelsea v Man Utd (PL) 05/02/12 KO 16:00 GMT
No doubt. It was nice to see us score 3, even though two were og's, but we need our man up front to boss it. Torres clearly isn't doing it and as much as I want him to succeed, it looks like that ship might have sailed.

Right, and if the squad is scoring goals that's all that really matters. It still means our LW would need to be addressed. Kalou isn't our long term answer.

Quite possibly. I know Kalou has had his fair share of matches that he's been below average (and I'm saying it nicely), but could he be worse than Malouda was? Mata in the hole was what we were hoping for. If we can figure out our wingers (left mostly, but both if we move Studge up front) and striker, we'll be ok.

The "everything you want to say about Torres" thread
Torres might be the best crosser that we have. If Torres' contribution is assists, then I'll take assists from Torres all the time. Torres getting assists means that means someone is scoring. It's unfortunate that Torres may never get the confidence back or fit in here as we would like. He still has some usefulness though and it might just be on the wing.

And one more point... REALLY tired of the media. The w**kfest over United just makes me sick. And f**k Piers Morgan.

The Bison was a workhorse. Just coming back from that injury and you can tell he was gassed after 65 min or hard work. Brilliant cross by Torres to Mata. Just brilliant. The first pen to United was a pen imho. The second? NOT A CHANCE. Unbelievable that was called a pen. Mata will a brilliant FK right at the end that drew one heck of a save from de Gea. I'm gutted that it ended a draw after being up 3-0, but at least we didn't lose. Onwards and upwards!

Who won't be supporting England now?
The Germans are my squad. However, I always wanted to see England do well because of our players. I still want to see the Chelsea players do well, but I no longer really care as much if England do well.

Entertaining last few minutes between Bolton and Arsenal. I really thought Bolton would sneak one in at the end and take the 3 points. And Owen Coyle is just awesome. Shorts when it's 0 out? Awesome.

Why not... --------------------Cech------------------ Ivan------Cahill--------Terry-----Bertrand ------------Romeu---------Essien------ Sturridge---------Lamps-----------Mata --------------------Torres-------------- No knock on Luiz, but definitely want that JT/Cahill partnership going. Plus, JT knows the importance of this match. He needs to be in the lineup. 4-2-3-1 with Romeu and the Bison dropping back or pushing up as the case dictates.

January business? Who's in who's out?
Yup. That's always the answer to the issues. Oh wait...

Ah, then you probably have a Jasper. Most, if not all, of the replacements were Jaspers.

You're lucky actually with the Xbox. A five year old Xbox is not the Jasper (last of the old-style, 65nm architecture) or Valhalla (Slim 45nm architecture) models and is susceptible to the RROD. Knock on wood.

Swansea City v Chelsea (PL) 31/01/12 KO 19:45 GMT
Good post here. One of the things that worries me is that we're quite a bit haphazardly when it comes to our play. It's almost that we just expect to get into panic mode and there is very little method to the madness. I wish there was more urgency in the beginning of the match. I didn't watch the first 45, but it sounded like we were very lethargic again. We need more early fire in the lads so we don't have to have the urgency late in the match. Still, the lads didn't give up especially with Swansea's good record at home. While we have issues, and no one will deny that, stand behind them and applaud. It could have been worse.

From what I see, there's an option to buy as well for £2.5mil.

AVB - who's behind him?
I appreciate that Yorkleyblue, gladly accept your apology, and by no means do I want you to shut up. You were spot on in that post, and I'm in 100% agreement with the frustration of those types of posts as well. I apologise as well if I came off sour. I know part of the reason I retaliated is the stigmatism that people in the USA don't understand the sport. And while that might be true for a lot of people in our country, and possibly the bulk, it's certainly not true for everyone. Still, it wasn't right of me to do either. I normally try to step back but that time I just didn't. So, again my apologies and if I could, I'd buy a round. Water under the bridge. No hard feelings here. Back to the regularly scheduled thread posts. Now, where were we?

AVB - who's behind him?
As an American, and I'm assuming you're alienating those of us in the USA and not talking about North and/or South America in general, I find this part to be insulting quite frankly. There are right pr**ks in all countries as well as snide and abusive forum comments from all over. Don't assume it's mostly from those of us living in the USA. And for the record, not all of us refer to the sport as "Soccer". Sad, because the rest of your post was quite right.

So instead of Xbox vs PS vs Nintendo, it's Intel vs AMD or nVidia vs ATi? Still a war, just different combatants.

Yes, this constant upgrading is brutal on the wallet.

I can't really offer anything about the better graphics, but the Xbox 360 S (Slim) does run smoother and generates less heat. It also draws less power since it's on the 45nm architecture. My son has the "Jasper" (the latest of the old models that's not susceptible to the dreaded RROD) and I have the S. Mine is much quieter and doesn't nearly spew the heat that his does.

Fair enough. Although based upon how we've looked in some of our matches, I don't see how he'd hurt us but this could be the case of us helping them help us by them continuing to play him and improve his skills throughout the rest of the season. Something like that. I also wonder if the purchase now is to avoid a potential bidding war in the summer.

For me, the signing isn't the issue. Ok, so we're going to take a flyer on someone that may or may not be good enough as a permanent addition to the squad. I leave that decision to the ones that are making it at the club. We can only hope that it works out. However, if we as a team are screaming out for a creative winger, something different, how can we buy him and ship him right back to Belgium on loan? That's where I have the issue with this purchase. I'm not saying he should have a guaranteed spot, but he should be here to have a chance to get himself in the lineup.
