  1. Germany were clinical today. Their passes were sharp. Their through balls were very good. However, the zonal marking could bite them against a better team. The other thing that worries me is playing from behind. All is well and good when they're up. Fall behind 1-0 and I'd like to see how they react. This is a very young team and that could translate into panic if they fall behind. I have to agree that Cahill's sending off was poor. I think it was a yellow, certainly not a straight red. With that said, I don't think it would have changed the result.

Agreed, except that I didn't mind Ash at Arsenal, I just thought he was on the wrong club.
  3. Totally agree and well said. :)
  4. I certainly hope that is not the third kit. That's not a bad keeper's kit though (I didn't say it was great, personally I like the orange)...
  5. Got to agree with this 100%. If we lost Ashley, first on my list would be Philipp Lahm but Loz is right. We'd lose out in the end because we'd probably spend more money and not get the same quality as Ashley.
  6. I'm not surprised to start to see the reports of A. Cole and maybe others being linked to Real since that's where it looks like Mourinho is going. Let's hope, at least in this case, that a firm statement comes out from management that says Ashley is going nowhere.
  7. Happy Birthday Petr! Still a World class keeper. Cheers! I'll drink one after work for him tonight. :P
  8. I hope you're right, like I said, especially for those numbers and players. No way.
  9. Here's a link to an article on ESPN... http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id...ers&cc=5901 From what I'm reading, do I want Torres at Chelsea? No. Not for the salary numbers and players ESPN is reporting...

I'm definitely anxious for the start of next season! All-in-all, it's been a great year to be a Chelsea fan. Now it's off to watch the World Cup (go Germany with hopefully a good showing by the USA). Shortly thereafter, training and preseason along with all of the trade rumors. The next three months will fly by, at least that's what I'm hoping.
  11. It's confirmed on the DFB website. He's out. From the website: The tomography showed a rupture of the cruciate ligament and a partial rupture of the syndesmosis at his right ankle, which will be immobilized in a cast. Ballack will then wear a specially designed shoe for two weeks. German team doctor Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt said, that according to today’s diagnosis, Ballack can look for a complete recovery, but that it should require a minimum of eight weeks before a possible re-entry into regular practice sessions.
  12. Late reply here, been that type of a weekend... Elated that we won the double. Just brilliant! So many off of the post in the first half, but that's what happens in football. Big thumbs up to the pompey players and fans. A shame to see the team in administration and being relegated. I hope you lot get out of that situation quickly. Found out Ballack's injury will keep him out of the World Cup. That's a big blow for the DFB team. Devastated...
  13. CHAMPIONS! Feels unbelievable to say. Absolutely fantastic!
  14. 101! Drogs! Golden Boot!! Awesome game... Awesome team... Awesome day!! So freakin' happy!
  15. DROGS! 100! WOOHOO! Time to get sloshed... I know I'm asking for a lot... but clean sheet? :)
  16. I'd like to see Drogs get #100. That would not only be the whipped cream on the sundae, but the cherry too. :)
  17. I might have to do that here at the house as well. :)
  18. I was nervous for the first 45 min, I'm nervous no longer... Just waiting for the other 45 to end and waiting to end the day with a big grin on my face. Goal!! Kalou!! Beautiful pass. 3-0 boys, just 36 min and stoppage time to go. Bring it home!
  19. Absolutely spot on. If we buy more than we sell, what's the point or having the youth players then? They'll never get the chance to develop or show management what they have if they aren't given the chance. That certainly won't happen if the club sells less then we buy.
  20. Loz, not to be picky here but... Your title says 09/04/10, I think you meant that to be 05 instead of 04. For the match... I'm nervous. My poor nails can't take too much more of the chewing they've gotten since the start of yesterday morning. :P This will be a tough game. The boys need to prove that they want it and not buckle under the pressure. With that said, I do believe we will once again see the correct colors on the trophy at the end of the match. Go Chelsea!
  21. Let's hope Sunderland seal the deal for us. Edit: That's if we hold on... I have faith, but a lot of time is left.
  22. Agreed. Kalou might have gotten him with a shoestring...
