Andrea Pirlo
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/more-sport/2...15875-21488045/ I know most of you are dead set against this, but for £8m I see it as a good bit of business and possibly a master-stroke, if not for what he does on the field, so much as what he can provide off it.

Let the Silly Season Begin
David Villa has ruled out coming to England several times. Rumour has it, Barca have signed some Brazilian player to go on loan to Valencia as some means of compensation for when they sign Villa. Also Valencia have said they will not sell their two best players (Villa and Silva) in the same transfer window. I think that's why teams haven't been linked with him. Silva is scarily good when he gets going. Him and Mata would be great signings for any team, it's just they won't let both Villa and Silva go, possibly Mata and one of them, but I doubt it. Everyone has their price, but sometimes it's just too high to contemplate.

Ahmad Khalil
I think it's more the amount of chances he gets than anything. He offers very little in build up play as well which I don't like about a player. I think he's more a decent/good finisher than a great one and without anything in build up play, I would never class him as great.

http://www.imscouting.com/global_news_item.aspx?id=2421 Apparently we're getting him on a four week trial. He sounds like quite a prospect. It'd be interesting to see how this develops. Comparisons to Eto'o don't really impress me, as I'm not his biggest fan at all, but he sounds like he has something a bit extra. Could well be a great signing, if it does end up being a permanent deal

Chelsea signing Aguero
I'm not actually a McMuffin, just so you know. :P

gigs, who? where? when? how good?
I almost went to see Bad Manners last year, didn't have the funds though :( I may have to see them soon though, they tend to play Bedford a lot... which is strange, because there's nothing here.

Oooh, didn't know you had a thread for this, well. I saw 2 Many DJ's (aka Soulwax) a few weeks ago and they were actually insane. Supported by Zombie Nation as well. Had the crowd jumping around like lunatics. I almost hit a militant feminist lesbian in the face... the look she gave me was pretty scary, but was a great night. I Highly recommend going to see them. Very tempted to go see this too, but ran out of money. Looks like it'd be an insane night. Something like 8 hours of DJ sets from Ed Banger.... including SebastiAn, who's probably my favourite DJ ever. Mystery Jets and Friendly Fires dropping in randomly too. I think I'm going to sell a kidney to get tickets and beer money.

Bosingwa to Bayern
Maicon has always REALLY worried me defensively when I've seen him. He seems about as interested in defending as Ibrahimovic from what I've seen of him. So I'm slightly worried that this could happen. Bosingwa isn't the greatest defender there is, but he's at least capable and willing to defend when it's needed.

Pato
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11668_5396947,00.html Interesting, it doesn't name the club, but I'm guessing it'd be us.

Who are the best 33 in the world?
I would very much disagree about Eto'o being a natural goalscorer. It's just the sheer amount of chances he gets. He's likely to miss 2 or 3 sitters each and every match, then finally score one to make his statistics look good. I'll probably agree with everyone else though, but oh well, I'll go anyway. GK Casillas, Buffon, Cesar. DR Alves, Maicon, Bosingwa - Ramos hasn't been up to much recently from what I've seen of him. DL Cole, Evra, Clichy - I don't get to watch enough German football to make a solid comparison, so I'll stick to what I know. DC Terry, Vidic, Ferdinand, Chiellini, Puyol and Pepe - Pepe, mainly for the kicking he gave Albin, was hilarious. MR Cronaldo, Messi and Robben - Robben from memory has spent more time playing on the right, so I put him there. ML Silva, Ribery and Henry - Pretty much where he plays now. MC Kaka, Lampard, Essien, Iniesta, Xavi and Gerrard. FC Drogba, Torres, Villa, Forlan, Rooney and Aguero - It was close between Aguero and Anelka, but I think Aguero just has more about him.

Andrea Pirlo
I just read this interesting article which could explain a little more about why we're after him. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/204665-...-and-creativity It's quite interesting and has actually made me for the transfer :o I could cope with him coming in if it is for the reasons suggested.

We need to sign a couple of back up keepers
You sure we weren't just linked with signing an Assistant Manager? :D

Songs to do it to
I came up with the title with a different game in mind, and then thought I'd change it.

Songs to do it to
It seems no one wants to do a bikini line wax.... if you'll pardon the expression  For a Police station, I'll ignore the obvious NWA hit and go with Pigs (Three different ones) by Pink Floyd. So.... A bikini line wax then? :D

Songs to do it to
Has to be 'Crash And Burn' by Savage Garden  Because Moi's was missed out, we'll go again with it. A Bikini-line Waxing.

Songs to do it to
I'm bored, so I thought I'd start a little game for some mild amusement. The aim of the game is to pick to pick the least appropriate song to go with an event or activity. First person picks an event, next one picks a bad song for it and picks another activity or event or whatever and it continues 'till we all die of boredom. I would do an example, but all I can really think of at the moment is how the song 'f**k forever' by Babyshambles would set inappropriate levels of expectation and I'm sure I stole that from a comedian .... I'm sure some of you can come up with better... or at least, I hope :P I'll get the ball rolling with... A major car crash.

Tevez
I was going to mention him, and also Veron, but I thought better of that one.

1 song by an artist
I fancy giving this a go myself right now, but I'm not going to do it with songs that make my spine tingle... all the songs that do that have already been mentioned. I'm gonna go a different route with it. I'll use my last.fm top 10 artists to pick the artists and pick my favourite track from their repertoire. Except I'll leave out Be Your Own Pet from the artists, because well... it was a phase I went through, and they're not that great and luckily it brings the massively underrated Battles into the top 10. Fun Lovin' Criminals - Scooby Snacks... there's a few of there's I could have gone for, but some are covers and that'd be wrong... even though their versions are mostly better. Beck - Debra.... Just for the line 'I want to get off with you... and your sister... I think her name's Debra' Fleetwood Mac - Family Man.... Oh what a song, what an album, just oh wow. Faithless - Insomnia... I can't get no sleep... when the beat drops, it just makes me crave glow sticks a group of strangers, and large amounts of alcohol. One of those songs that you have to turn the volume up for. Young Knives - Weekends and Bleak Days (Hot Summer)... Saw them live and this was just insane. Had me jumping around like a complete tool, love it! WOOO!!! Zero 7 - In The Waiting Line ... it's the track I discovered the group with, thanks to an amazing performance on Jools Holland. Dire Straits - Walk Of Life .... I was going to go for the blatantly obvious 'Money For Nothing' but thought better of it. This track just brings back memories of a couple of crazy parties, where I demanded this be played... A few friends did disown me for it ;) Vampire Weekend - Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa ... it's actually epic... well the whole album is, but this song is my favourite because it's not been ruined by being on adverts or in dodgy TV shows and long may that continue. Bob Dylan - Ballad Of A Thin Man ... I was going to go for Subterranean Homesick Blues, but I felt I'd been too upbeat so far and wanted a more serious song to go in. If you haven't already, watch 'I'm not there'. This song is used so superbly in that film, that you'd think it was made for it. Admittedly, it's a biopic of Dylan, so you'd expect it to be used well, but still, it's excellent directing. Battles - Ddiamondd ... I doubt many here will like it, but I love it. The genre is 'noodled mathy electro', which surely makes it worthwhile alone? It has no real significance too me, other than being one of the tracks to get me to really appreciate mathrock... I know it should be maths, but those Americans chose the name :P That there would do me quite nicely. I know it's an eclectic selection, but that's just me. To Answer your next question, I'm 20 years old :P

Why hullo thar.
I usually hate making these welcome threads, but I feel the need to formally introduce myself. I'm a Chelsea fan from back in the day... by which I mean pre-Abramovich... started playing football in about '93 (I was 4) but didn't start watching the game for a couple of years. Growing up in Holland it was Chelsea that grabbed my attention with Gullit especially at first. Been a fan ever since. Only managed to get to watch one proper Chelsea match, and a charity match. It was in the Uefa Cup against Valerenga. Was immense... Anyway, I digress... I'm new to this forum, but I've been an active member of at least one forum for about 5 or 6 years now... which is a scary thought. I thought I need to join a Chelsea forum, just for some news and rumours as much as anything. On the forum I visit the most these days (simplyfm.net) I'm the only Chelsea fan, so it's kind of lonely :P So yeah, hello all.

David Villa
I think I'm a fair bit newer than you, but I used the search function... he's a Man Utd fan that came here and said that Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Aguero and just need to agree a fee with Atletico.

Benzema vs Aguero vs Pato
Pato for me. Not just because I read his name (Alexandre Pato) means Sandy Duck, which is quite simply awesome. Also the fact that he's a more natural goalscorer. Aguero is an excellent player and I would love him at the club, but he's less of a goalscorer more, of a creative player. I think really it depends on what you see the club needing. I think a strike partnership of Drogba and Pato would be devastating, whereas Aguero tends to drop deeper, adopting the positions Lampard takes up, and in my view would diminish both player's impact. Benzema doesn't really come into it. He's just not what is needed right now. Also there's just something about him I just don't like. Obviously my reasoning will be void if Carlotti wants to play Aguero from a wide position.

David Villa
Well I just did a quick search for 'Joaquin rejects Chelsea' and came up with this article. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...turn-Blues.html Although I'm not sure how accurate that is, because it says that he's going to go to Real Madrid, but oh well. It says he would rather stay in Spain but that bit isn't said by him, so it could just be conjecture really.

David Villa
I might be actually... I dunno, I'm pretty sure it was Joaquin that didn't want to join us because he wanted to stay in Spain, back when he was at Betis. I thought Navas rejected Arsenal, because of homesickness and that's why he doesn't do internationals either... I dunno.
