Isn't it Laporta that wanted rid of Eto'o rather than Guardiola? Apparently Laporta very much dislikes Eto'o, his attitude both on and off the pitch, the money he wants and has wanted rid for a few years now. He's been offered around most summers for a while now. I'm sure you'll remember last year when he was offered to most clubs. It's just that Laporta doesn't like him and wants rid. Doesn't matter as to who the manager is or what their 'plan' is. Deco has a bit of an ego, and Mourinho wanted him at Inter. He signed Mancini for them, who has an ego. He signed Quaresma who is a bit of a fancy Dan, not sure about the whole ego thing though. He does sign players with egos, he just doesn't do it very often.

Well that's what I think, yeah. Personally I think it's a very good idea for them. He'll give them another option with his height and ability to hold up the ball. He may not score against the very top sides, but with the players he'd be surrounded with I think he might start to. I reckon he'd certainly do well for them with Henry and Messi either side and Iniesta behind. Also it means he won't come to us. The Premiership wouldn't suit him at all. Spain could and probably would. I'm in a select group of people that think he is very good... but I'm not stupid enough to think he's worth anywhere near the £70m.... I'd say more £25m.
