  1. Yeah I suppose you are right. Still feel we are little short centrally, don't like the Ramires/Lamps/Mikel midfield. I just thought a Modric type would have made us a massive threat, and along with Mata would add loads of creativity. Hopefully Josh gets more of a look in now.
  2. You think anyone will actually sign? The longer it goes the more I think it will just be Meireles. Would leave me somewhat undewhelmed.
  3. I am also worried. We seem to have looked really vulnerable this season, easy to attack and get at for want of a better phrase. Carlo is clearly a great guy and his reputation proves he is an excellent manager, but at times this season I have been worried by his comments and attitude, "bad moment" etc. It makes no sense chopping managers every few years but I worry for Chelsea next season. Ideally we will bring in a few players, especially wingers, to liven us up a little bit. But I agree that Ancelotti is probably not the man to stoke us up during bad runs.
  4. To be honest we may as well write the rest of this season off as far has Torres being brilliant is concerned. Hopefully we will have qualified for the champs league with a few games to spare, and then maybe he will score when there is a little less pressure. A full pre season with the other players will do him the world of good. Anelka seems to be getting away scott free and he has been woeful recently. Plays in midfield, has shots from outside the area that barely reach the goal. If Drogba was to leave, I would also sell Anekla, and look to bring in a player in the mould of Neymar, Snejder etc. Someone who can see a pass in behind. Essien, lamps, Ramires are not doing this.
  5. This is so annoying, almost upsetting. Last competition we are involved in, and we are showing no urgency at all. No creativity, no shots, nothing.
  6. Worrything thing for me is Utd normally score, and they can just counter attack now, keeping it tight and picking Chelsea off. It would be brilliant if we could get a goal say in the first 20 minutes. They would then have to come out, meaning more spcae for us, and hopefully a 2nd away goal.
  7. I am so nervous and its the day before! Living up north means I will get a lot of stick if Utd win. SO important not to concede an away goal. If we take a 0-0 to their place I would be fairly happy. Any sort of lead to nil and I will be delighted.
  8. I definitely feel Chelsea are the most equipped to deal with Barca out of the English teams. However I would still prefer to avoid them until the final. Would be much more confident playing them in a one off game rather than over two legs. I actually feel Inter are more vulnerable than they were last season, so wouldn't mind them too much. I think any of the English teams are capable of beating each other. My ideal draw would be Schalke, then hopefully Real will play barca and that is one of them out of the way as well.
  9. I would only sell malouda if we got a very good offer in the summer for him. It was refreshing though to see a lot of enegy down the left when Yuri came on against utd, as Malouda looked laboured. It is nice to have these options though, hopefully Malouda can get his finger out and start producing form similar to last season and the beginning of this.
  10. After last night I cannot see us finishing in the top four. It is likely that the next time we play Spurs will be 5 points clear, as they haev Blackpool. My god this season is truning out to be a nightmare.

Drogba has been one of my all time favourite Chelsea players, I have never written him off, he was won games for us single handedly and deserves to have the 'legend' status bestowed upon him. However I just feel the time is right this summer to move him on. My hope is that Sturridge returns ready to take up the challenge of scoring goals, and that will go some way to replacing Drog. IMO I think Chelsea may well let drogba and Anekla go, but obviously then you are looking at buying a replacement.
  12. I think because everyone has very high expectations of Drogba, his perofrmances are made to look worse than they are. As has been mentioned no player has played well recently apart form Ramires. The problem is Dorgba if the focal point of the attack and we need more agression from him. Against Fulham I would go with one of Drogba or Torres in the centre, with Malouda and Kalou either side.

It is definitely possible Chelsea could finish outside the top four, I am very worried at the moment. I really thought we were going to go on a long unbeaten run before the Liverpool game, and I was looking at catching City. Now I am looking down and if Spurs and liverpool win at the weekend it will put a lot of pressure on Chelsea for Monday, plus the media will be full of it, "outside the top 4, Torres was wrong etc etc" It would be great if Sunderland and Wigan could do us a favour, I doubt it though.
  14. It has been a nightmare few days living up here in Chester surrounded by Liverscum fans. I hate everything about them, fans, club, ground, attitude. It was made worse because I taunted them about Torres. Anyway on the game I was devestated by the lack of urgency and tempo. It has happened too often this season and to me at the moment it is quite easy to play against chesea. There is nobody who can play that killer pass apart from Lamps and to me he has struggled for fitness all season, so we cannot just rely on him. We are so narrow as well, everything is central, it would be great if we could spread the play, get a few ball in the box, instead of playing it backwards and forwards between defence and attack for 90 minutes. I am extremely concerned with Essien, looks a shadow of the player we all know he is, maybe as someone else has suggested in this thread we should move him back to defensive mid. I love Didier but he has had a rotten season, I rekon he may well go in the summer and if he doesen't buck his ideas up should be dropped. Luiz looked very good when he came on so hopefully Carlo starts him alongisde Terry, with Ivanovic going to right back instead of Bosingwa, who I think is awful. I have never been Carlo's biggest fan, but he needs to show why he is paid so much money now. I am sick of him saying we are in a bad momnet still, you get paid £6million a year to be in a good moment, so sort it out. It is frustrating not being able to see Chelsea as much as I would like, but even more so when they play like that in a big game.
  15. I too am becoming more worried by what is going on at the moment. Unfortuneately living around the merseyside are I hardly get to see Chelsea, so rely on watching them on t.v. I have been saying for a while now that at either end of the pitch Chelsea have got problems. We can't hide the fact that since all this Terry mess started he has'nt been the same, while up front the build up play is too slow and we are too reliant on Drogba. The midfield looks poor with ballack and Mikel in there, for me Ballack has never justified his wages since signing and is a waste of time. As for today Chelsea were awful, slow and laboured. Some of the goals were comical and I feel Carlo needs to have serious heart to heart with the squad. This season the premiership has been there for the taking but once again we haev failed to get a decent cushion at the top. With our remaining fixtures probably being the most difficult of the top 3, I am defintiely worried. In the summer there needs to be a big clear out. The average age of the squad needs to be brought down and the lieks of Belletti,Ballack,Mikel and Kalou can go as far as I'm concerned. I have to put up with enough stick up here, so it annoys me when Chelsea play like that becuase I can't really defend them.
  16. Hi Everyone, I am new to this forum and actually went to the game in Baltimore last night and have a few thoughts regarding a 'marquee' signing. In my opinion we definitely need one. Firstly regarding Sheva and Pizarro, both looked well of the pace last night, and as soon as Drogba and Anelka went off there was no out ball. In my opnion pizarro is not good enough anyway, but maybe Sheva could be used as a squad player. Somebody like Pato would be ideal I think, someone to link up the play, who is young and exciting, that is what I think Chelsea are missing. Defence and midfield looks strong, but another attacker would be a big help I think. The thought of Drogba or Anelka getting injured and having Pizarro or Sheva as back up doesen't fill me with confidence. Apart from that we looked strong, but a big signing to excite everyone would give me a lot more optimism.
