Maybe Paulo can nullify Bale by getting close enough to him to tell him some funny, or not so funny, Portuguese jokes because he wont get near enough to him to kick him. I predict one of our midfielders will get sent off, probably Ramires, as they try to help our full backs who will be being carved up by Bale and Lennon - Chels to win 2-1, Malouda & Drogba.

Bossy should be ok so Paulo, Kalou and Ramires on the bench for Sunday please. Our big players, Drogba, Terry, Ess and Cecher, need to stand up and be counted on Sunday or we will get rolled over. Stick Josh in if Frank not ready, Josh to score the winner against Spuds!!!l Keep the faith

It's been the same for the last few matches, Kalou has spurned countless chances. Why we have not reverted to a 4-4-2 in recent time I do not know, that's down to Carlo. Why is our goal under seige in the final minutes, where's our midfield?

Two trips to WHL in the early mid 70's spring to mind. On one occaision I went with my cuz and some of his mates from Stockwell, Sp*ds were parading the league cup having won it the week before. When Mullary and the players walked past the massed ranks of Chels they were greeted with a hail of coins. I also think this was the match that was sponsored by SMITH's crisps, some birds were walking round the pitch throwing packets of crisp into the crowd. The Spuds (no pun intended) scrapped over the packets whilst we kept ours and then ceromoniously slung 'em back on the pitch. A year or two later I travelled up with a mate from Sutton, via Fulham Broadway where we joined a mob of Chels, must have been 100+. We went via tube and the overland train rather than the underground to seven sisters and walked through some housing estate. When we got to the ground there were people everywhere, all the turnstiles were crammed with people, except one! Me and my mate nipped in and could not move, finally we made our way outside onto the terrace and eventually ended up on the pitch and got swallowed up in a massive rolling brawl which resulted in us ending up in the wrong end of the ground, we stood quietly under one of the floodlightong pylons for the entire match - we got beat and, I think, relegated............... don't remember how we got out or home. crazy days

Thought Mikel was close to MoM at Villa Saturday so have gone for him tonight, he's in the grove and quietly going about his job, maybe josy maybe a hint of the Maka about him these days, all credit to the manager for getting the best out of him on a regular basis.

was at the game and Ivan impressed throughout, always prepared to get into Carew when the ball was being knocked up front, showed 100%+ commitment. Must make mention of Cech, Ashley and John Obi all were solid - Paulo also stuck to his task well, looked an obvious weakness before kick off but did not dissapoint, particularly in first half when exposed down our right flank.

Have watched Josh in the Youth and Reserve teams and he has looked very accomplished for one so young. What strikes me about him is his willingness to have the ball in almost any situation, his join up play is very good and he has an eye for the killer ball as well. He is probably more a Lampard than a Brooking and his quick feet leave opponennts for Dead, Newcastles midfield rarely got near him. I truely hope he get's a lot more playing time, lets hope he is one of those who does make it into the first team and stars for many years to come. Simply a joy to watch.

Anelka had a fine match, constently involved and drove the team forward. But for me Josh was outstanding. I raved about him to some friends pre match and had hoped he would get a start. However, he did not dissapoint when he came on, an outstanding performance, never looked out of place. I also thought PVA had a solid game, Bruma did ok, lot to learn still, silly free kick conceded for the second goal. Biggest dissapointments were Turnbull, Ferreira (thought we had become the first club in history to send a player out on loan to a team we were actually playing!) but most dissapointing of all was Sturridge, needs to take a long hard look at himself, somewhere in there is a good player trying to get out and he needs to sort himself out..

Sad news indeed. I, like others had not appreciated the nature and seriousness of his injury. I look forward to watching his progress as a coach. Glad to see the club standing behind one of there own, been here since he was 9.

Followed the Chels over land and sea since the mid sixties and continue to do so. Look forward to viewing and contributing to the many threads on offer on this great site. Heres to a great 10/11 season culminating in a victorious appearence at our second home in the champions league final. Keep the faith.
