BJD - I understand you're not happy with yourself for posting this - but as Chelsea fans I think we're entitled to show it's not just our captain who royally screws up. Rooney could have killed this girl in some sex and drug bondage session but it still wouldn't be as big as sleeping with your ex team mate's ex girlfriend.

However, Coleen, like Toni, will now be humiliated. This is where I feel guilty about rubbing my hands with glee that Saint f*cking Rooney has done this. Will he get booed? No. Will he get damned by all the media? No.

I doubt Coleen will leave him though, although it may take more time than Toni did...! (that said I firmly believe she knew for a while before the press got a hold of it).

Love the fact some united fans are bringing up Terry's story and saying well at least it's not as worse as that, cheating is cheating at the end of the day. I can see this effecting Rooney's mind majorly, Cole/Terry were able to get on with things because of different situations but he's just recently had a kid with her and she's got all this money now, she can easily just divorce him. If that all happens you can say bye to united seasons i could be wrong but i don't see Rooney as a strong person capable of dealing with that kind of situation and balancing it all with the media & on field. Fergie is gonna be fuming.. as a Chelsea fan delighted the Mancs have gotten a wake up call as we all know that team has their fair share of cheaters, cough Rio.

This is the key point for me.

As someone else has said its refreshing and pleasing to see these headlines about a non CFC player so there is initial relief there but i dont think its healthy that people revel in it , as many Chelsea fans will - but sadly thats more a comment on today's society than anything else rather than a comment on our fanbase.

Im not really fussed about how this story is publicised and received compared to the JT saga. Rooney looks pretty guilty to me, just like JT was. He has to face his wife and family and face up to it for the rest of his life. That should be enough concern for him, not however much the media draw it all out. He has made his bed and he has to lie in just like JT did/is.

Talking about how the two stories have been widely reported and handled will just all end up in the 'woe is us Chelsea fans, we get it worse and harder than everyone, its just not fair' stuff - a theme that seems to be recurring and is starting to bore the sh*t out of me (see the 'nearest & dearest thread' for page after page of it.) - you can certainly mark that one down as a comment on some of our fanbase, particularly on this forum!

Also - as ever the timing of this is ludicrous. Two days before Englands toughest game in their qualifying group. Suspect there will be more to come as well.
