18 months ago when Palmer had even a half chance I was confident it was a goal. Now, one-on-one, or a ball into the box, I just know it's either a miss or he won't even control it properly. Problem is we have no-one else any good to replace him.

We don't have a f**k up every game. He's been our most consistent defender all season and has improved quite a bit.

It's obvious why Maresca never played him. He plays the ball forwards first time looking for attacking runs, instead of backwards.
