I'm surprised Mikel is happy to stay. Jose may be happy to have him around but it's patently obvious he doesn't rate him very highly. He's an established player and he's not old. He's more or less accepting a bit-part role. Sure, we do need the odd squad player who will accept their lot, and in that respect you can see his appeal to Jose, I'm just surprised Mikel has accepted it so readily. No way will he ever be a first team regular under Jose.

2010...where Essien was injured for more than half the season?
 
2011...where Lampard was injured for more than 4 months. As for Ramires; Ramires actually made more league appearances than Mikel that season.
 
2012...Our worst league performance of the Roman era
 
2013...Made less league appearances than a 35 year old Frank Lampard and Ramires. Mikel was literally the only other player for that position in the entire first team squad other than Oriol Romeu who was injured for the season after 6 games. And even then a defender, David Luiz, was often preferred in his position.
 
2014...A mere squad player until Matic rendered him entirely unnecessary when he joined in January. Prior to that was still a backup to Luiz who, again, is not even a midfielder.
 
I don't know why people have to go out of their way to manipulate statistics to make Mikel appear more than he is; A player who we expected to develop into a world class player but who never even came close to getting there. If he were putting in performances at another club like he has been since he joined Chelsea, there is no way we would ever be looking at signing him, and those bending over backwards to show how great he is would be firmly in the do-not-sign camp themselves. At best he could perhaps settle at a club like West Brom or Stoke where his significant limitations going forward can be ignored as he would be required to do more defending anyway - but at a club competing for titles he is a waste on the pitch for any job more than parking the bus for the last 10 minutes of a game. And even then there are many, many far more capable and versatile players that could do exactly that - as shown by the fact that not once but twice in the last few years, he's been knocked out of the team by a centre back.

That for me is worse news than Cech going to Arsenal, not trying to sound all doom and gloom or anything, we still have a great side that will keep on improving, however I do think Matic needs a partner other than just Fabregas. Giving Loftus Cheek that responsibility is a huge gamble.

That's because the TV show has butchered him to what he was in the books, in the books it's the other way round, he is using Milsandre. The scene were he was begging Milsandre for sex just done it for me, that's not what his character was about, he was always heavily reliant on duty and never gave in to pleasures like that, almost the complete opposite of his brother Robert. In the TV show he is a lot weaker than he is in the books.
 
But still even in the TV show out of all of them he is the only fit leader, best millitary commander, can make the hard decisions, Danerys is guilabile and naive her empire would only fall short eventually should she ever be in command, she is too soft hearted and wont accept reality.

Yeah the Witcher combat is so satisfying, dodging blows then finishing the enemy off in the back.

Finally managed to get myself a PS4, just got 4 games for it so far, FIFA, Witcher 3, Mortal Kombat and GTA 5.

They did this, they never make consistent decisions, they only make a decision when it is a big talking point just to calm down the masses. F.A. is the biggest culprit in all this bollocks, to why so many players get away with it and some don't. They gave the media that power, if you want to point the finger look no further than the F.A.

I don't believe in the conspiracy theories but you can't deny that Costa's suspension was media driven. Sky's reaction to it was shocking because it was against Liverpool their gloryful team. 
 
Remember when Toure slapped and kicked Mata? Not many people do because no one ever mentions it, Sky didn't even bother to mention it themselves, you're telling me if Costa did that against any side he wouldn't be thrown under the bus? Very unlikely. 

That's the point I'm making, I agree there isn't a media campaign for everything but that was a situation where there was a clear campaign to get Costa banned.

Cause it's wasn't just Jamie Redknapp saying things, Carragher, Souness and Sky Sports a News in particular pushing things like the Costa incidents. Yet they didn't do the same when Toure did something similar did they?
Why get so angry about it? You're the one who can't let the whole media agenda go. End of the day we get slaughtered way more than most teams when things happen in all sides of the media. Just because our player of the year got an award from the papers doesn't mean they don't like to push the negatives about the club.

That season was easily the most boring season in football when it came to the Premier League. 
 
I believe United managed to win it that season despite winning only 4 away games or something.
