  1. Seriously? Are you joking? 'Arry has the Spurs squad firing on all cylinders and any Spud supporter I know are down on their knees praying he doesn't leave for that catastrophe waiting we call the English National Team! They could've lost last Sunday and 'Arry is still a hero at WHL! I may not have a lot of history with the Prem league because here in the States it not exactly main fare but come on!
  2. I agree, as bad as our club seems, especially with AVB out challenging in public for the board to endorse him publicly. I have to think the whole Tevez saga is far worse. Then again, I am a tad biased being a Chelsea supporter and challenged by a Premier league manager to the owner who just happens to be in the top 20 wealthiest persons on Earth, who doesn't blink an eye to fire not only his Football managers who have pages of success but also other businessman who have worked under him and failed is truly absurd! I brought this up over the weekend but I am beginning to think (very strongly, I might add) that AVB does not care about Chelsea at all and that HE WANTS TO BE FIRED, collect his paycheck and be off where a club that is willing to give him 5 years to build something will hire him! This latest outburst, very much like a WINNING Mourinho is simply appalling! He throws out the same old bullshyte 4-3-3 tomorrow with Bosingwa and Merieles playing instead of his two most talented players in Mata and Sturridge yet again out of position than I want his arse sacked immediately! Truthfully, we all sit here week in and week out and question this guy and like many (including myself) defend him week after week but its gotten to the point where if he plays this shyte again then mouth off like he is SAF to the media, cut his Focking head off (metaphorically of course) and get rid of him now! It's one thing to win with arrogance but this focking guy is doing none of the sort! Like I said, I stood behind him long enough but the Drogba in the tunnel speech which clearly happened and really nothing than an absent JT would've done in the same situation and now this challenge tells me that AVB wants to leave or does not care to be at Chelsea any longer! Why else would he be so irate about Diver doing that? Most managers in any sport want that leadership! We've all worked jobs where you no longer give a shyte and this is what AVB is telling me! 4-3-3 with another loss and sack his arse Roman! I know some of us been calling for it (and I have not but am clear on the brink) but we lose tomorrow I hope to wake up on Wednesday to have this guy out the door and take Meireles with you...
  3. I like this as well... Terry is an unknown at this point so Luiz will slot in for Terry. I also prefer Drogba to Torres as well. I don't think Torres played particularly poor the past month but he's not getting a decent through ball so he can play his game. I think Drogba and his size could dominate Napoli's backline and knock some balls down for a waiting Sturridge. Mata in the middle at the top of the diamond would flourish. My take anyway...
  4. Last summer when Chelsea was looking at a manager, I was hoping we would have brought in David Moyes... My reason was that he has Prem experience, seems to command respect, and most importantly does well with the younger players, something Chelsea has boatloads of and never utilizes. Secretly, I was thinking he can bring Rodwell with him and have Lamps groom him and Moyes be our Scot manager and maybe, just maybe Chelsea's version of SAF. Yes, I was hopeful and letting my mind run... Obviously, that did not go down and we brought in AVB, whom I stand behind but IF Roman was to sack him, I really hope we go the route of a less than prominent name like a Moyes or even MON, who imo has done quite well with Villa and obviously with Sunderland the past few months as well... What do others think about brining in a manager such as these or others like them over a big name... Of course as previously mentioned, I do stand behind AVB but he is beginning to confuse me a bit. He seems too confident with his comments, like no matter what happens his job is guaranteed... His comments about denying Drogba gave a the squad a good chat in the tunnel came off to me as arrogant. It almost appears like AVB wants to be sacked and go start someplace else (maybe Inter?) where he may have more help from the board, and of course that large severance check he would leave with... I am probably being too analytical but this week some of his comments really makes me wonder... Back to the question at hand... Any of you would like to see a MON or Moyes or somebody to that caliber managing the squad if AVB and Chelsea FC part ways? OK, wife is finally ready, time to go drown my sorrows in my lager! Good day all!
  5. Well you don't come off as being the "offensive type" so I will be blunt here... You joined up a few weeks ago and have done nothing but spew negative posts ever since you joined. Everything and I mean everything you write has some sort of negative connotation to it. We all know we are rubbish with an extremely boring "pass the ball around the perimeter and get no where" style of play and that our manager is in the deep end but yet most of us try to find some sort of silver lining, no matter how thin. And if members can't and have to make a negative comment, its usually got a little bit of a comedic undertone to it. Now I know after matches when everyone is frustrated, it gets pretty bad in here and rightfully so because its worse on the pitch. But you, all week long have nothing nice ever to say... Not once have I read something where you were even remotely positive. It's a shame really, because you are quite knowledegable of the game and honestly I agree with some of the things you say but cheer up a little! In the end this is only a game and let's be honest things were way worse a decade ago. I am not the oldest of Chelsea supporters and really only began liking them in the late 90's and it was by chance because I didn't choose one of the other big clubs that most Americans latch onto. Never been to the Bridge or even seen the boys live and its obvious you have and perhaps that's why you are so frustrated? IMO, I think you just need to lighten up a little bit... Things could be far worse and while I admit we are heading in that direction, there is still a long way to go... And with that said, I am off to the pub (yes, its only noon) to meet my Scouser friend where we can both cry in our beer all day and wonder what happened to our clubs the past few years...
  6. And here I thought I was going to be called out on exaggeration by using the worlds smallest metric and perhaps should have gone with pico or femto...
  7. Patience is definitely being stretched thin, approaching Yocto meter thin, but I agree... He is the manager and its his ship and us as supporters for the club should stay onboard... Although after the drubbing Napoli gives us, I am not so sure Roman will still be onboard.
  8. Ivan for me too... Definitely our future captain...
  9. ...And now completely smashed or should be at least well on you're way
  10. I usually can get a good pull off of www.firstrow.net but like the sound of what you were speaking of wax. Thanks!
  11. Perfectly put... Whether AVB stays or goes, the club needs to instill that no player is bigger than the club!
  12. Sure wish he never left, things be a lot different. I do appreciate the man that Ray is though because he could've went out to the press and spoke about what happened but he has too much class! A lot of other people wouldn't have handled it the way Ray did... I do like him in the booth but don't get to hear him so much living in the States.
  13. It sort of sounds a bit Disney or Hollywood to me... But at the same time it could work and at this point I truly think AVB has to mix it up with different combinations of players on the pitch, as odd as they may be. Something has to be done to stop the horrendous play we all experienced last Saturday.
  14. Obviously! Too bad they're not the same, we could have flopped all over the pitch Barca style just so she can come out and distract the opposing squad to our advantage. And the way this season is going us Chelsea supporters could use some distraction from the scoreboard as well...
  15. The man was one missed penalty from winning a Champions League title... Oh and by the way was the only manager of ours to ever get that far... Caretaker or not, I agree with Chippy... He deserves more respect from all of us...
  16. I agree! Regardless if we do make 4th or not the thread was calling for a gleam of hope, some positivity... Instead we get the same nonsense about how we are rubbish and are doomed...
  17. @ Sender: You make a very valid point about Torres... While I think most of us thought a lot less money could've been spent better (Aguero for instance) we were all drooling over the possible partnership with Drogba... It didn't work out for whatever reason... Let's move on! Perhaps Torres in the wing is better suited for Chelsea, perhaps his exit would be... Point is he is here now and let's try and get the best out of him...h
  18. Heart! Without it there is no point in even lacing up the boots and taking the pitch. Win, lose, or draw, we all want to see a performance of effort and to have that effort spill all over the pitch! Without HEART, that'll never happen! When times are good or when times are bad, I want to see heart week in and week out...
  19. Spot on... I have been wanting Honda to come for over a year now. He would've been perfect because he could've played both sides. Wouldve been a very good addition to the squad and given us a big presence in Japan where he is God amongst Football supporters. I am not sure who is running the show but I will wager a guess that it is those clowns Gourlay and Buck! For me, they need to be the first to go and then the usual that everyone has already stated in other threads. While not making fourth would be disastrous, it could open up a lot of avenues for the younger players and allow AVB to utilize them for his system. It can of course completely backfire but I truly think Chelsea may just be better off in the long-run...
  20. I think this meeting at Cobham with Roman is going to light a fire under them and they will finish up strongly... I think we will finish fourth but it will be a culmination of Chelsea playing better, not good but better, and the Scouse not scoring, and let's not forget RVP has seen an awful lot of minutes and has yet to have his annual injury, that happens and the Arse will crumble. Those are the reasons we can nick the fourth spot. Not ideal but at this point we should take anything. Matches to the lower end clubs are going to be just as important as the ones at Emirates and Anfield, imo! The squad has to play with a certain intensity and I think maybe shuffling the squad up a bit will do that. Love to see a Kalou - Sturridge - Torres for the top three with Mata playing behind in the middle. Drogba, for me is very questionable! All season he has been simply there with no tenacity at all. Maybe the spell in Africa will do him wonders and he'll be rejuventaed but for me ever since his bout with Malaria, he's not the same player. The senior squad that are on the way out need to step up and show the younger players how to do this. They owe it to Chelsea and more importantly they owe it to us! I just can't see them fizzle out in a Chelsea kit after all they have accomplished. Even if it means supporting a manager they don't enjoy playing for. AVB needs to step it up as well! Perhaps I am being too optimisitic?
  21. If all this is true, I am glad it happened! Let AVB manage a squad who is not poison... These sacks of sh*t players who've been here ling enough already chased Carlo out and many if you approved. Now we are on our second manager and it is pretty obvious who's to blame! Anytime a manager sniff the air of change and there is rebellion! Chelsea were great for the last decade but let's face it apart from that were a decent club before that! As I mentioned earlier, I too called for AVBs head after Unites and was even flustered after Everton and even though he has made mistakes I do not think it reflects the overall shoddy performance. It's time we turn the blame towars the players who are not doing anything! Sit them out and dump them this summer. It's drastic and almost revolutionary but I personally think it needs to be done! SAF never had a problem letting stars go and AVB should do the same... It's for the good of the club!
  22. Perhaps you could lend some powder to our lethargic squad... Surely a quick picker upper would do the likes of Malouda a world of good!
