General Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 (edited) Well we have a 2 week hiatus from the prem, 2 cup competitions and a lot of pressure to win the 2 upcoming matches, but a welcome break from the disappointing new year to date in the league. Last March Carlo won the Barclays Manager of the month gong, Chelsea after looking dead and buried started a remarkable run that would eventually land the team in 2nd place, a feat for which the double winning manager was promptly sacked for. Looking at the fixture schedules for Chelsea, Gooners, Toon & Dippers and despite all the apocalyptic postings that resulted from our 2 0 humiliation by Moyes men I do see hope to regain 4th. Drogba & Kalou will be back, Torres will have to either find form very quick or be dropped. I've just had a look at the teams' schedules involved in the battle for 4th spot . It's not all doom and gloom, if the rot can be stopped as it was this time last year and bearing in mind the other 3 clubs also have some tricky fixtures and it is well possible for Chelsea to get back into the top 4. Only Spuds and City games for us would appear to be no hopers for points, and so far the team has shown up in most of the big games. The question is for me will AVB have enough in his locker to pick up this struggling team by the scruff and beat Bolton, WBA, Stoke & Villa and gain 12 big big points along the way ? Or should the Board take advantage of the cup break and send an SOS out to the obvious candidate Mr. Hiddink - a lot of posters seem to favour the latter approach to rescue what they feel is an irreversible downward spiral. I am on the fence although leaning to the latter, have 2 good mates over here , both from London, both longtime fans since the 70s like me, they both want AVB gone the sooner the better . You can argue that in sacking AVB its more financial woes, but in the words of Roman himself to my mate Danny at the Hollywood Hills Chelsea & misc celebrities US pre season tour party in 2007"it's only money", and boy oh boy does he have very deep pockets. It might look like a hopeless situation, but apart from the top 3 clubs its been a well mental season with upsets all round, so lets keep the faith, the blue flag flying high and hope AVB can man up and match Carlo's feat of a year ago. Chels2 Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 (edited) Under AVB - no Under a good manager - yes Also why are people pointing out Kalou's return like he will save us lol? Edited February 12, 2012 by Chels2
Star Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 We need Ramires for ALL remaining fixtures, We need the Drog to score 10 goals plus, We need Lampard to score 10 goals plus, we need Mata to be given the keys to unlock defences between the lines, above all AVB needs a tactical brain transplant, even then I fear it will not be enough. Chels2 - Kalou has been superb in the African Nations, he's playing on the left of a front three as well. Desperate situations call for desperate actions where our Chelsea is concerned!

Put Kalou on the left, Drogba at the center and move Mata behind the striker, with Essien and Ramires backing them from midfield. Also, kick Sturridge's ass and make him work for the team upfront(pass more, shoot less) and track back when the team is chasing the ball. CECH - IVANOVIC,TERRY,D.LUIZ,BERTRAND-ESSIEN,RAMIRES,MATA-STURRIDGE,DROGBA,KALOU.

Spiller86 Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 It points out to me how desperate the forum has become, that it has turned it's lonely eyes to Kalou for salvation. I personally feel he has never been as bad as people have made out, he's a willing worker and puts himself in great positions to score, only he is a poor finisher. He will play a role, as he always does at this time of year. But he shan't save us unless the rest of the mob turn themselves around.

"O ye of little faith Cast not your eyes upon Hiddink, Jose or Marco Reus; Thou shalt have no other gods in February, For I am Kalou." FACT.

Myles_91 Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Under this manager it will be next to impossible. I expect us to finish somewhere between 6th - 8th. I think 4th would have been salvageable with Hiddink. Got to really go for the CL as it's looking like winning it is the only way we will be in it next year.
aliboy66 Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 No no no no no no no no no no no no no and poo that's all I have

dkw Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 According to this very reliable source: http://web.ics.purdu...n/eightball.cgi Yes, we will: "Absolutely" Said "definitely" when I did it. Right, I`m off to the bookies.
shedpensioner Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Not a chance! Le Arse are playing badly, but we're playing cluelessly!

Uno Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Who do you think would stay loyal to us and who do you think would want to move?
1905. Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Well tbh it's not like we're relying on the money you get for finishing top four, it'd just be harder to attract bigger players for next season.
yorkleyblue Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I think you'd find quite a lot of user names in here covered in cobwebs fairly quickly.
abramovich Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Forget next season, I'm starting to lose interest already. For others interested in joining in, there are still available seats in my bandwagon, you can find me either as reddevilforever25 at www.redcafe.net or bluemoonriser69 at www.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk.
shedpensioner Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Probably a few of the older foriegn players would want to go, but in most cases that wouldn't be a hardship!
Gem Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I think the one's who would go would be the ones that the majority of people want rid anyway...!
