AVB Sacked!
I'm just surprised he wasn't even given time to bring in his own players and get rid of the deadwood. What good will sacking him now do? The board sure don't make it easy for me to like them.

Napoli v Chelsea (CL) 21/02/12 KO 19:45 GMT
Not really Luiz fault, Cech was too quick to come out. It's not the first time it's happened either, Luiz and Cech keep rushing towards the same ball. There's a lack of communication there.

Malouda's last useful weapon is gone, guy can't cross for sh*t anymore. He's completely useless now.

Mata was in a far better position than Sturridge.

Decent lineup, would have started Essien but whatever. Odd how he finds space for Malouda in midfield but not Mata.

Eden Hazard at Chelsea
Same way lots of clubs put up a fight for Ozil's signature, huh?

Eden Hazard at Chelsea
Why would they get rid of Bale? Lennon would go back to being the bench player/rotation that he is, Hazard on the right, Bale on the left and VDV in the middle.By the way, I think this is bull as well.

Eden Hazard at Chelsea
Or just get rid of players like Dos Santos, Bentley and Kaboul/Kranjcar. Already got something like £10m for Pav.

Eden Hazard at Chelsea
Spurs are in a very good shape financially. To take them to the next level, money and wages like that would be no problem for Spurs.

AVB - who's behind him?
Calling him tactically inept is a bit silly considering all he's done in such a short space of time in his career. I will however say that he is proud in his formation and will hardly ever change even when it's not working, that's his only downside in my eyes. If people were expecting him to work miracles with his team then you sorely mistaken. He's here for the long run, you don't pay that much to get a manager and then sack him in less than a full season. I truly believe that in a few years time once he's had to chance to really make his mark on the team, get rid of deadwood, etc Chelsea will be a much better team and in much better shape for the future. That's what he does and he does it well. It took a just over a season for him to really get going at Porto but once he did the football they were playing was fantastic.

The "everything you want to say about Torres" thread
Why? We have Lukaku who is meant to do just that.Don't need anymore strikers, we need wingers and playmakers.
-
Fernando Torres - Radamel Falcao Swap ?
Has nothing to do with them wanting him or not, they still have to pay off his fees, not to mention the clauses. Why anyone would want Falcao of all people, who feeds off service (something which is non-existent at Chelsea), to come to Chelsea is beyond my understanding. Torres is miles better than he is, would rather focus on getting players who can provide him with service.

Frank Lampard should start!
Should be nowhere near the starting XI if everyone was fit. Right now though he probably should be starting more games than he currently has, although he's hardly showered himself in glory when he has started. He's been playing poorly for a few years now and has looked non-existent in games apart from when he scores, which I am still grateful for mind you. He's a squad player now, nothing more, nothing less. He seems to have accepted that and I'm glad.
-
Fernando Torres - Radamel Falcao Swap ?
They just got Falcao, it would take a ridiculous amount of money for them to even consider letting him go. Throwing Torres in would do no favours either, still a lot of money to buy out his contract and the sh*tstorm that is his clauses.

Sturridge to Arsenal?
In before "he won't get striker role at Arsenal", even he played RW he would be more or less as striker cause RvP is always coming deep and creating. Pretty sure the wingers get more shots at goal than RvP himself, he's just clinical. Anyway, I wouldn't blame him if he did leave. However I don't think it's likely, just another hint on his and his agent's long list of "I want to be the main man ffs".

Chelsea v Man Utd (PL) 05/02/12 KO 16:00 GMT
My Torres free role/LW suggestion is something I'm really hoping happens, anything to keep Malouda out.

Josh McEachran - We need to play him
I agree with everything you said apart from that. The only thing Ramires has over Sigurdsson is pace, that's it. Lampard comes close and on the top of his game probably would be better, but that hasn't happened in a long time and even then it wouldn't be by far.
-
Josh McEachran - We need to play him
Sadly, he won't start as long as Sigurdson is playing. Guy is just a beast and I did mention this before. I would like to see Josh and Sigurdson together though.

Raul Meireles
It should really be Romeu and Essien with Lampard and Ramires rotating.
-
Raul Meireles
Yes there are times when he doesn't put his foot in (Although the last time he played DM he ended up with the most tackles and won most of them) but I would rather he didn't go diving in like Alex Song does. He doesn't need to, his positioning allows him to get away with not putting a tackling in everytime. He's always more than happy to get stuck in when he's playing for Portugal so there must be a reason why he doesn't do it as often for Chelsea, perhaps it's something he's been told to cut back on, who knows. Also his long ranged passing is extremely underrated, with him playing DM it would be utilised a lot more.
-
Raul Meireles
There's your problem, he hasn't done that in years so your expectations were a bit misguided. I have no problem with his signing, I think he's a fantastic DM and average CM. However, I said at the time Chelsea would be better off getting Guarin and/or Belluschi, both who weren't getting games (which is just crazy management) and wanted to leave.

Patrick Bamford
Can't really put Chamberlain into the same category as Wickham (whoever actually rated this guy must have been the same ones who thought Carroll would be any good at a Top 4 team) and Bamford. Chamberlain is on another level and was worth every penny, looking back on the deal I'm sure many will feel like it was actually a bargain once he's played more. Guy was already Arsenal's best winger without even having to play a game and now he's been their best player in recent games.
