Posted February 8, 201213 yr http://www.guardian....-redirect=false http://www.dailymail...-Sturridge.html Apparently Arsenal interested in Sturridge & he might consider leaving if he isn't given the striker role. I personally say it's a non-story. As Sturridge is an above average England player, his value automatically goes up 2 or 3 times and I can't see Wenger paying 23-30m for anyone. Edited February 8, 201213 yr by Mod Topic title changed, please add more to the title as opposed to just the player name.
February 8, 201213 yr In before "he won't get striker role at Arsenal", even he played RW he would be more or less as striker cause RvP is always coming deep and creating. Pretty sure the wingers get more shots at goal than RvP himself, he's just clinical. Anyway, I wouldn't blame him if he did leave. However I don't think it's likely, just another hint on his and his agent's long list of "I want to be the main man ffs".

You're forgetting the Chelsea-specific exception to that rule. Any player we sell automatically loses around half of their value, because "we don't need the money". [1][2][3][4][5][6][7] [1] - Duff [2] - Shevchenko [3] - Crespo [4] - Veron [5] - Wright-Philips [6] - Bridge [7] - Etc...
February 8, 201213 yr I seem to remember us getting a silly amount for Bridge considering he was already a washout even then. Like £11m or something?

But surely we'd be mad to sell a good player to rivals for a small fee.
February 8, 201213 yr I think Danny's at a bit of a crossroads in his career. Maybe he is unhappy playing out wide, even more so when he see's the job Torres is making of the central striking role. The point he's missing is that Andre has put his faith in him to fullfill that task & for a manager to do that should be seen as a great boost to any players abillity. Thing is,he's not the finished articule & learning the skills from the wide areas of the pitch will only improve his game long term when he get's his chance to play in the middle. All of this is pointless if he starts to throw his toys out of the pram and looks to move elsewhere,it's been said that he got a bit stroppy at Man City, but he needs to calm down & take a leaf out of Lampard's book of dedication. Concentrate on his weak area's,keep working at his good points & he will be the best English striker since Alan Shearer (minus the elbows in the face).
February 8, 201213 yr Apparently its season ticket renewal time for arsenal, they mentioned they were looking at hazard last week. Strange timing wouldnt you say.
February 8, 201213 yr Probably absolute bollox, why would you want to leave Chelsea for Arsenal?? Even more incossistant, less money, less chance of winning a trophy!! Now if the reports had said Manure I might have believed them!
February 8, 201213 yr Read on a few Arsenal sites that they all know this is the same old season ticket time ploy, they had the same last season and the season before where they were linked with players around february. Players who they were never likely to sign. One site even mentioned that Wenger has quite a large amount of shares in the club and many fans believe thats why he is reluctant to spend big on players.
February 8, 201213 yr that story forgets the small matter that chelsea would want to sell in the first plcae...very doubtful and like someone else said, arse couldn't afford it anyway
February 8, 201213 yr I hope not, but I get the impression he has an attitude problem. If Jose came back, he would treat him like he did Joe Cole if he carried on the way he has been this year.
