I think this is a milestone showing they are doing something right. You need milestones like this to get validation on a strategy or a plan. Todd must have won the rock-paper-scissors on who gets to sit next to old Orange. 😄

Okay it was a final so extra motivation in general should be just that but I loved the way he came in the game. He just wanted to battle PSG and didn't mind coming of the bench but really wanted to show he can start as well. I really want these two, maybe three (if Nico stays), to really battle it out. We need that and the personalities of Liam and Joao look the right type. Nico's boiled over a couple of times.

Now that we have conquered the world in America I am setting my sights to win the next trophy in Visitmalta Weekender friendly tournament at the Bridge 🏆. Another weekend, another trophy? I was surprised Tottenham wasn't involved in this. 🤔

I think the players need to know how to react to different styles of football and be adaptive. I think you need a system or a style of football (principles) you can lean onto which is something Enzo's tried to instill all season. You cannot win the Premier League with superior quality alone which is what we have against most sides we face. Anyway I think we learned a ton on this tournament. Belief in the style and system is very important. I think a bit too much is made of Enzo's stubbornness. He came to win this one game and he passed the test with flying colors against the best unit in the world. By stubbornness I mean everything negative that is attached to it. All the top coaches are stubborn in their way. Depends on how you look at it.

I liked that too. Too many players these days are more athletes than footballers. They don't have that footballers brain or the instincts to bullsh*t the opponent which in essence is what the job of the footballer is. They just use their superior strength or pace to go past. Pedro seems to have that instinct. Early days of course but the signs are there.

I've criticized him being the captain in the past. No criticisms over that anymore. Certainly proved me wrong. The squad age structure is about as perfect as it can be for him to be the captain as well. Long may it continue.

Great performance by Sanchez! Hopefully the performance and the golden glove lifts him to a better consistent level.

Not the most charismatic figure you can draw up but seems very asserted and assured of the squad and his ideas of football. Chelsea belong to these major cup competitions so I am really excited to see us play in the Champions League next season. Players are playing much closer to their top potential in big occasions. Rainy tuesday-nights at Stoke are the tough ones which you need to win with robotic performances to win the Prem. Lets see if we can do better at those as well. Anyway Italians and Chelsea belong together which was proven once again today!
