  1. Yeah right Loz. Have you seen that ad for the Volkswagen Polo (I think), with the dog, who when he's in the car, sings out loud and proud along to the music and then when he's in the shop, he's shaking and clearly petrified? Ring any bells? 'cos that's what I think most of you blokes are like and my bitch Bella agrees.
  2. The only reason I got involved with the site is through a friend I have met via 2 external sites which are nothing to do with football whatsoever. He asked me to come on the site......... Not here for a free ride, just wanted to chat to people who are likeminded about football, I have found it to be very different to what I imagined with back biting instead of embracing that we all support the same team even though our views may differ Chelle please don't feel that the above quote was aimed at you. I know it seems likes there a lot of snide remarks going round at the moment, but I think that's just 'cos men don't know how to express their frustrations. Seriously, you are very welcome, it's always nice to see another female poster and I hope you come to the meet up as well.
  3. Good post Just! van Hooijdonk - Good luck in your exam tomorrow!
  4. Oh please I didn't get a stream up in time and you need to tell me what's happening - I'm having kittens. here
  5. Does that mean you won't be going to the match, with your exam the next day?
  6. van Hooijdonk - your posts are always very thoughtful and interesting and I enjoy reading them. I too hope you stick around after our match, whatever the result. I'm sure that during the match our respective passions for our clubs may produce some anger/happiness/arrogence/gloating/hatred - whatever, but it will only be short-lived (hopefully) on both our parts. One thing I do hope is that Chelsea enter this match with the respect for your team that it deserves. I sincerely hope that we don't go in, as we did with Barnsley, expecting to win and not even trying. Because surely we will lose again. The passion you have for your club and your honesty about it's shortcomings are very refreshing. Sometimes when I read this site it appears that some of our fans have lost their passion for the club and are so negative about everything. Keep up the good work!
  7. Another great to line up a chat with. I can't believe it's that long since he died. Well done for remembering Loz!
  8. Since he became England captain and had a pay rise.. He isnt the player i used to admire and adore. His defence is already slack and becoming worst. And this coincides with a terrible head injury and an operation on his back, oh and playing with a broken toe for the beginning of this season. And based on form he shouldn't be playing. I didn't think I'd ever say this of JT, but at Barnsley he looked afraid he was going to get hurt. I don't think he's fit to play and maybe deserves a rest.
  9. Hull City play in Orange and Black.
  10. Who specifically are you talking about? I must be missing something because I've read every post on this thread and I haven't read anyone say that Grant is a managerial superstar. In the past I've read some people wanting people to give him a chance, but I don't think anyone has said that he should stay beyond the summer. I may be wrong, I often am. Or is it a case of you trying to show what a message board genius you are?
  11. Yes, of course, how is your run up going?
  12. Totally agree Loz. An exceptional talent and such a tragic early end to his life. Rest In Peace Anthony Minghella
  13. Gem - I'm sorry, that sentence - the words "holy" and "graceful" - I'm just pissing myself laughing. No offence intended.
  14. I mean these are unforced and personal mistakes. Mistakes which must not be made by the players of Champions League calibre. Of course they are part of football but unfortunately they happen more often than normal in our matches :) Give him a break, at least he's writing about the football and not just saying "Welcome to hell...." and all that crap.
  15. Whilst I appreciate that English is not/may not be your first language, this is going to get very boring if this is all you have to offer in the way of conversation about the matches between our teams.
  16. I'm sure no-one realises how much these things brighten my day. LMAO
  17. Oh I know Chippy. My problem was in days of yore I could and would have given as good as I got, and been able to leg it if I'd "overdone" it. Sadly those days are gone, and also I'd promised the mum of the lad who'd taken me that I would look after him, so I kept very quiet and just smiled in response. When we got back to the car he said - They're not very nice people from Barnsley are they - the things they were saying to you was bang out of order. Bless! The Barnsley team definitely deserved their win, they came out to win and they were determined. The difference between yesterday and the "good old days" was that for all the money we've spent we should have walked it and we didn't. We've come to expect to win and on yesterday's evidence we're deluding ourselves and in the past the piss taking was more bout banter of teams being in similar postions, winning sometimes, losing sometimes, no money in the kitty to buy the big players. But now, what's our excuse to lose to a side like Barnsley in the way that we did? It wasn't a fluke, I could have lived with that. I feel sorry for your stepson, at least we got to go home, he's got to stay there and listen to it everyday until they get knocked out. That must be really painful.
  18. Why? Because our cup success is within living memory and yours is "history".
  19. I am trying to ignore the fact that I have to go into work tomorrow - it is going to be horrific, face to face piss taking, phone calls, e-mails... I fully expect the lot! Face to face piss taking? Face to face piss taking was walking frigging miles back to the car through a sea of Red and White scarves, wearing your Chelsea top and having to listen to comments like:- "you should give your sticks to your players love, they obviously need 'em more than you do." "I'll give you 50p for your top - 'cos that's all it's worth". "Not so mouthy now are you?" "How many millions?" "Oh look, there goes Abromovich's helicopter hahahaha" etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, It was the longest walk and I am so SLOW - I've never been more frustrated.
  20. That's exactly how it felt just - exactly.
  21. I was gutted at the performance and the result, BUT so proud of our supporters. We totally outsang them, throughout the whole game - made me proud to be a Chelsea supporter!
