I'd rather self immolate than see Carroll replace Michy. Michy doesn't suit a lone striker role, but if we played a two striker formation I think he'd be decent. Carroll is like a £20m game of Operation with a poor strike rate and no history of success. There HAS to be better options

Bakayoko could have a massive future, and I still think he'll come good, but at the moment he's the worst of our summer signings by a fair margin. Boy needs a lot of work on his football skills, he's athletic as hell but his head is in the sand defensively, and in and around the box

Oh I totally agree, it's very unlikely we'll spend after signing Morata, and as frustrating as he's been the last few games, I'm a big fan and think he just needs to work on a few things before he'll be banging in 25-30 goals a season. Just seeing United with Rashford, Lukaku and Ibra and Man City with Aguero and Jesus makes me question why we couldn't have two top strikers. We're falling behind with squad depth compared to City, United and even Livepool and Spurs. If Carroll does sign i'll support him every game, and hope he can overcome his injury issues, i'm just awfully skeptical

I think i'd honestly rather sign no one and finish fourth than sign carroll and finish..... fourth Realistically if we're going to spunk 30 million on Carroll, why not wait till the summer and see if we can bring in someone good for 60 million, having saved that 30 million that he would cost us in medical bills. Salah never really got a chance to get going with us. And he's improved immensely, especially his finishing, in the time between then and now, as you said. Mahrez is not as good as hazard, no, but he provides a similar style of threat from another angle, which would prevent this quadruple marking of Hazard that shuts us down. Pedro suffers much the same fortune as Salah did, he rarely gets the space to run in behind, which is why he isn't super effective for us, but I still rate him. Mahrez adds the ability to beat a man that currently only hazard and willian possess in our side, but with the bonus of being both a good supplier and finisher, unlike willian who we all see is mightily inconsistent.

Fair enough then, though I disagree, I think we have enough games per year for them both to get plenty of playing time.

It was a bit tongue in cheek, I'm not comparing their wages fees, I know Carroll is the much cheaper option, but christ, it's Andy Carroll. We should be looking at Timo Werner or Aubameyang or even Giroud. Carroll has never really accomplished anything at any club he's been at.

Mahrez is a dribbler with good finishing and vision, which we currently lack other than Hazard. Pedro is a pace player who finishes well, Willian is a great technical dribbler with little end product. Mahrez slots in on the right side of a 3-4-3 being left footed and has ability to shoot from outside the box, as well as put in decent crosses for Morata which we don't already have. He's certainly an upgrade.

Who needs Sanchez really? He's 29, out of contract in the summer, probably heading into the twilight of his career and Arsenal want 35 million for him.
