Played well for the few minutes he was on, really wanted him to score vs the dippers though :(

I'm all for confidence in a young striker, but has Lukaku done anything for us that has shown he should be top of the pecking order in the striking department?

I would think that Lukaku had the opportunity to stay at the club and build himself into the starting 11, he has chosen not to do that and go out on loan, if he wanted to be top dog he should of stayed with us and faught for his spot.

I'm not gonna have a pop at individuals, but i stated in match thread i think, about Torres' only clearcut chance wasif Oscar had of squared the ball.
Now if you watch that clip, Torres shadows oscar in on his right, if he squares it he runs onto it and hopefuly taps into an empty net, if he was level with him, if Oscar squares the ball it would go behind him because of Torres' momentum, but hey every little error lets batter Torres, in the words from the bible, "go forth and multiply. ;-)

Funny that. If Lukaku had won the penalty and that freekick people would be raving for 5-star performance and how he made the difference. Torres does it and it is okay performance. He can't win, can he? But we've been through this also 25 times so...

    He was good last night.

I'm ok with justified criticism but people here are way OTT as far as Torres goes and it's sad to see.

Don't think he played badly tbf. Good finish for the chalked off goal, went on a mazey little run that Moses couldnt do anything with.

But i'm sorry he cannot do anything with a hoofed long ball, yet Cech, Ivanovich and Terry continued to ping them at him all game!!!!

Suarez and Torres did play together at Liverpool, so he didn't really replace Torres, Andy Carroll replaced Torres

    Making huge sacrifice?

Do they sell their kidneys? Do they put their daughters on the game?

They choose to spend their spare cash going to the match.  That is their right.  Don't call that a "huge sacrifice"

The Alice comments, ladyboy comments, edited pictures  etc just  reiterate what i was harping on about a few weeks back. It just highlights a slight lack of class by a section of our fanbase. The name calling, somewhat vicious nature to some comments and general ill feeling towards one of our players is a shame.... It is as if some people actually think that Torres WANTS to be a failure or is happy to be in this position.

I have no doubt that Torres wants to score and contribute more than he has been doing. I am sure he hates being such an expensive failure. That he is being paid such a high wage is not his fault. That Chelsea decided to blow 50 mill on him is not his fault. That he has lost his ability and/or pace as some think, again is not necisarrily his fault.  sh*t happens.

I do not understand why people feel the need or desire to come onto a web forum and start calling names etc. It' all very childish and the efforts would surely  be much better served contributing to a discussion rather than hurling around playground insults.

The hypocrisy is frustrating, if Torres had scored those two goals, you would be one of the people moaning about how it was only Southampton and one goal was a tap in. And he did score the hat trick vs QPR although it was at the Bridge, but wait, it was only QPR so it obviously is irrelevant.
Torres scores - people moan about when he scores, the opponent he scores against, the way he scores.
Torres doesn't score - people moan about the fact he didn't score
It is ridiculous and ludicrous the way that the real anti Torres people are on this forum, not one little bit of praise. Ba scores two against a weakened Southampton and great, well done Demba, but if it was Torres scoring two vs Southampton, it would have dismissed as Southampton having a weakened team. It is just baffling, really baffling.

Do we have to call him Alice and Ladyboy on a Chelsea forum? Hes our player for f**k sake and even if we all hope Ba will start from now on its just childish and something you would expect other set of fans call him, not his OWN.
I will continue to support the lad as long as he wears our colours and certainly wont call him Alice, ever.

Is Torres the most controversial player in our recent history? He probably is.
Drogba was also very controversial even after one or two of the finals he won for us. Some people just hated his face and the diving and moaning. Didn't love it either but all he did was for the team. Now a Chelsea legend and arguably one of the all time players the club has seen.
Not saying Torres will ever be that but I think we need to support him as it might benefit the club and to be honest we don't seem to have a choice either.
