BLUENUT
Full backs: What ever you do don't defend the post's at corners, it's unlikely they'll score, which is why we don't work on defending them in training. The last few games were a fluke, plus you might tread on Petr towel. Don't press forward, our midfield might hit them on the break. Both of you can have a kit-kat between the 62nd and 64th minute. Midfielders: sit in front of the defense, Drogba might hit them on the break on his own, ( I've told him Jose's here), so at no time support him in the first half. Ballack stroll around like you're walking your dog over the local park, and Deco, see how many times you can pass it 3 foot and put your team mate in trouble or under pressure. Joe Cole, continue with your pointless step overs, they may not acheive much, but they entertain the fool's in the crowd, I like them!! At no time must you cover your full back and stop their full backs over lapping! If we do manage to get inside their half, why not try chipping the ball aimlessly into the box, Drogba might get it. At no time must any of you shoot! Forward: Drogba, make a nuisanse of yourself, until we hopefully hit them on the break. You'll be isolated for long spell's so may want to take a Sunday paper to read while you're out there, it may also stop you from waving your arms in despair at your team-mates, or waving to Jose. Defencive tactic for the day: Kick, pull, obstruct or try and stop Ronaldo at every oppotunity, he is their only player with any ability, did you know he is like my B*st*rd son?. He will often run into you, but consider him stopped, don't worry about conceding free kicks around our box, his free kicks are not very good, he only scored a few for Portugal. Offensive tactic for the day: Alot of slow build up play, let them get all their players behind the ball then pass sideways again or chip the ball into the box. Only shoot when we've hit them on the break. Suprise of the day: We can't play with 2 upfront, but I might suprise them and finish the game with 3. I might even bring on a right-back for a right back, they won't see that coming. What could possibly go wrong? ''Ray - is it tradition for the visiting manager at Old Trafford to wear a red nose aswell as Fergie?'' C'mon lads lighten up, did any of you really think we were going to win yesterday after our recent performances.? Next 2 away games Liverpool and Villa - anyone confident? BLUENUT
Don't forget we have to face Southend on wednesday. <_< I meant in the league, but on recent turn-oputs, this'll be no walk in the park. A freezing cold Wednesday night on the SE coast is hardly the place for Brazilian-style Samba football. On the plus side they do have a beach, albeit covered in turds and jelly-fish, so it's ironically suited to our current style of play. mike
Come on everyone...keep the faith!!! I am a new member and thought after yesterday I needed to join fellow sufferers and share the pain but am feeling worse now!!! Actually the found note did allow me to smile for the first time since that game....where has our desire gone!!? Even Jt seemed to lack any sort of spark yesterday and there just seemed an acceptance that it was a bridge too far. Cant or wont believe it mind. Lets hope the next couple of fixtures this week give us something to smile about. Come on u blues!! Mike...

Yeah, I could have gone to twon....here's another one. Corners: Lampard or Deco, please float the ball high and near the goal keeper, if he doesn't catch it we might score. Alternatively, whip it in to the near post, and if you clear their first defender and their keeper doesn't catch it we might score. Failing this, hang it near their penalty spot, if the keeper doesn't catch it, and the first defender doesn't clear it, or their big centre half doesn't win it, we might score. Failing this, take it short then do one of the above, or play the ball back to Cech and await a goal we might score on the break Edited January 12, 2009 by BLUENUT

What about the boat race, or is it Oxford and Cambridge in the final again this year? I'm sure they must use hot and cold balls in the draw because those two always meet in the final! :D

Backbiter
Midfielders: Remember - you stick to the middle. They'll be assuming that two of you might go wide to find some space. If you all play in the same area they'll be confused about which one of you to pick up and you'll have the freedom of the centre-circle to weave your pretty patterns. You'll also draw Drogba back towards you which will create space for those forward runs that they'll be expecting you to make, but of course you'll be confusing them even more by not making them. A five-man midfield hovering around the half-way line gives more space for the full backs to overlap, so I expect Ashley to be our best chance of getting shots on goal. Second-half I'll bring on Anelka to play midfield too, as they'll be expecting him to make runs into the box, but he can lie deep and confuse them further. All will be well when Malouda is fit again, so I'm relying on you lot to hold the fort until he does. Remember - if they score just before half time that will be a killer blow, so it doesn't really matter if they score a couple more.
