Posted January 19, 200916 yr I had an interesting conversation with a Spurs fan at work today which left me pondering the prospect of swapping these two talents. Now it is blatantly obvious the Giovanni kid will not get a game this season with Spurs considering their dire position in the league; he is a luxury they cannot afford. Why don't we enter into a LOAN swap giving the M.Mancienne in return. The kid will definitely get games at Spur considering he will only be behind Dawson & Woodgate (King is probably out for the rest of the season). He will also get some Cup & UEFA experience. At Chelsea he is obviously fourth choice and a continued absence from 1st team football will hinder his development. I reckon Harry will be happy to have him. In return we get Dos Santos who can play on both wings & also upfront. My reasoning his Malouda has a history of being out with niggling injuries for long periods which will only leave us with Kalou; Stoch & Kakuta. Others might argue that why not recall Sinclair? Well their is a greater chance of playing where he his and Dos Santos will only be providing cover and added flair we are missing. We get to have him for a half season and if he proves useful we sign him next season and if not he returns to Spurs. Our defender also gets games under his belt and returns next season to challenge Terry and others for a first team place. This is a win-win situation considering we have big games coming up.
January 19, 200916 yr Dos Santos, in his few appearances for Spurs, hasn't looked anywhere near good enough to hold his own in the Premiership. he has also had quite a few problems with injury (ankle I think) I would see no value whatsoever in us taking him.
January 19, 200916 yr I personally don't think Dos Santos is old enough yet to be playing in our first team, and why would you swap an Attacking Midfielder with a Centre Back?
January 19, 200916 yr I don't think swapping a centre half for an attacking midfielder is a problem - what ducavis is saying makes sense in terms of Spurs needing a centre half and us needing a player who can create and play on the flanks however I just don't think Dos Santos is anywhere near good enough. I would rather we relied on Malouda, Kalou, Stoch, and Kakuta.

January 20, 200916 yr The Shed End - Unofficial Chelsea FC Forum > Chelsea > RumoursI see no rumours. latest rumours from the shed end jan 20 2009: rumours abound that cfc93 wears a pink dress, high heels and make up to do his hopping on a sunday and answers to the name of doris. :D enough rumours for you? :D
January 20, 200916 yr if he's not good enough for spurs how the hell do you think he's good enough for us? as often heard in the channel four game show...NO DEAL
January 20, 200916 yr I was a little taken back by the first sentence, the words "interesting" and "Spurs Fan" can't be good for business :D
January 20, 200916 yr Would be a lot better deal for Spuds than to us. Plus there is the threat Mancienne enjoys his time in the white(read: sh*te) outfit while playing so much that he wants to stay there. I know it is marginal but can happen.
January 20, 200916 yr Mancienne is going places and is going to make an impact in our future. In contrast I dont think Dos Santos has the mentality or the size to succeed in England. Spurs are such a joke. They swapped an unremarkable, but industrious team spearheaded by Keane and Berbatov, and went out for Dos Santos, Bentley and Modic, all three of which have been far from convincing, and swapped two 15 goal strikers for Bent, Roman Pav, and a Man Utd loanee, and Defoe 18 months after he left. If this were a normally run business, Daniel Levy would be on the street
