Was just watching the match there Gem and thinking the same thing. Loads of passion there and desire for CFC.

I can understand why the spending had to be cut down but his body language would say he's there for the long haul.

Makes me rip when you see him slipping down the seat trying to kick the ball, and when we get a cross into the box and he trys to head them in from the directors box -head going like a chicken. :lol:

Totally agree goose and it wasn't just on the ITV highlights - but on the setanta coverage, throughout they were showing him constantly, he would have got his head on half of those 49 corners we had. It looked like he had a ball, gets more into it than anyone..!

I saw more of Hiddink and Abramovich during the match than Wilkins on TV. Abramovich had got himself totally involved, but Hiddink, throughout the game, remained unimpressed.

kalpitv, i dont think he was unimpressed, it looked to me like he was taking everything in and was very focussed on the players.

From what I saw, with the Camera on him all match, Roman still had fun. He looked like a genuine Chelsea fan, there was lows and high towards the end, he had a few laugh along the way. The one I remembered was when Ballack missed the sitter, Roman's hands were up like the rest of the Chelsea fans in the stadium, then the reluctant smile. I bet he is not keen to renew contract with Ballack right now Plenety of rubbish been written about Roman's appearance in the match, I rather see him at every game than hiding on his yacht. Hiddink was not happy at all, and it's good to see.

I'd like to see roman and guus star in a buddy movie, where they have to travel across the former soviet union in a volkswagon motorhome, armed only with a cricket bat and half a packet of sugar free polos; guus, the chief of police, is world weary and only weeks away from retirement, roman, a valuable witness for a mob trial, is young, naive, but full of life. by the end they've taught each other valuable life lessons.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has seen his wealth reduced by about $9bn (£6.3bn) in the financial crisis, according to a business magazine.

Abramovich held on to second place among Russia's wealthiest, according to Finans magazine, but his $23bn value is now down to $13.9bn.

I feel very sorry for him if this is true, but I cannot accurately describe my relief. All these people talking as if he had lost all but 2 billion (which, in my mind, would have spelled selling the club sooner or later) had it all wrong, and the man still has plenty of money to take us forward. I would rather tighten belts around the club and spend responsibly or sparingly (rather than not at all) if it means we wont be bounced around by a bunch of money grubbing consortiums or investors like LFC and others are. as usual its all misleading and hyperbole from the media. he hasnt had £6b of his personal fortune wiped, hes lost it from shares. therefore its only a loss if he sells those shares now, if he hangs onto them ( and seeing as though he still has around £13b i doubt he needs to liquidate assets in a hurry) then theres every chance he1`ll recoup that `money`.
