Not allowed to visit this site at work hence the quick pop in and out. Had a very interesting face to face chat with Mr Kenyon this morning and will give a blow by blow account later todaqy when I get home!

Wow, that would make a really interesting read, geezer. Already looking forward to it. I want to know whether you let his balls go only under the condition we don't sell Ivanovic or we keep Hiddink.

(Look at me speaking of balls again - :D )

Did it go something like this?

I should be used to you popping quickly in and out by now! Nonetheless I wait agog to hear of your facial encounter with the man they named a chewing gum after.

Let me give you a brief summarisation of how the chance chat came about.

I visited SB this morning to collect a shirt signed by Ron Harris and Peter Bonetti and on coming out of the shop there was Peter coming the other way by the Tea Bar - no one else was around but I refrained from assaulting him. I initially called to him and said "great result last night" and he replied "fantastic wasn't it?". That gave me the cue to talk to him and name drop a couple of people I knew from his old Umbro days and this put him at ease with me. I mentioned this site and politely asked him if I could ask a couple of questions so that I could post his response and he charmingly agreed to this even after I'd warned him a coupkle of q's might take the pee a bit. So here it is, the geezer exclusive (no notes, all recalled from memory so there may be some very small inaccuracies)

g- Did you think we'd win by such a margin nlast night Peter?

PK - I felt we had a good chance of winning but to win 3-1 was a bonus

g - What was the atmosphere like?

PK - Electric.

g - Really? Tommy Langley was very critical of the Liverpool fans on Chelsea TV last night saying if that's the best fans in the world I'm not having it

PK - Our fans were great though weren't they?

g - I'm asking the questions here Peter

PK - Ha ha

g - So Peter, do you think your favourite team will make it through to the CL semi's now?

PK - I think there's a great chance now yes

g - Really? So you thiunk United will prevail in Portugal then?

PK - Ha ha good one

g - We have a thread on our site called make a choice. You make your choice from two options and give a reason why. Understand?

PK - Go for it

g - Next season's employment Peter, Chelsea or Man City?

PK - (mutters something inaudible) I'm committed to Chelsea

g - Damn

PK - I beg your pardon?

g - Grand Peter, I said grand. Shedenders will give plenty of feedback on that. Guess that's it, very many thanks for your time Peter

PK - It's been a pleasure

g - I'd like to say the same - but I can't

PK - Ha ha

g - One last thing Peter

PK - What's that?

g - My daughter loved your stint on telly at the weekend

PK - I wasn't on was I?

g - Yes you were. Saturday night on Primeval

Peter muttered something inaudibkle again

Although he gets a lot of flak here I have to give him credit for being such a good sport. As someone has already mentined he really is approachable

This is geezer - shed end - signing off

PK - Our fans were great though weren't they?

g - I'm asking the questions here Peter

(Geezer smacks baldie upside the head)

Well done.

Wow. So just how much of that was your own brilliant comic invention geezer? :D

Well done to you. And to Peter. I am not a fan of his because of the stupid decisions that have seemingly been made under his watch, but between this and the Steve Staunton windup, he does sound like a personally nice individual

Well done, Geezer.

A career in journalism beckons?

Nah mate, you have to love the scousers to get into journalism.

Great piece of thinking on your feet, Geezer, although I can’t agree completely with your reply to PloKoon - there are exceptions.
