Chelsea's all-time 'They've only got themselves to blame' XI

Here's my top Premiership CFC team of players who once had it all and then decided to f**k it away...

................................Bosnich..............................

Bogarde.........Duberry................Huth...........Gallas

Laudrup.........Morris...............Diarra..............Poyet

.....................Mutu...............Knight.....................

Bosnich - Top world keeper who trades it in for a quick toot and a couple of Nazi salutes (not in that order)

Bogarde - International star sacrifices career for a life cleaning boots at Harlington

Duberry - Once England contender and Man U target sees a better life with Leeds scum

Huth - Chelsea bench or Boro first team? Only one option Rob...(I know this one's a bit harsh)

Gallas - Leaves Premiership winners for ignomy and useless career path

Laudrup - Joins and then realises he doesn't like footie any more

Morris - Most promising youth prospect ever ends up becoming a total tosser

Diarra - In quest for recognition, leaves perennial Euro top 4 side (us) for useless Portsmouth / Arse / Madrid. D'oh!

Poyet - Took the weekly adoration of 40,000 grown men and spat it back in our faces for a bunch of twats

Mutu - See Bosnich

Leon Knight - A huge talent matched only by an ego the size of the milky way. Allegedly one of the biggest tossers to ever wear a blue shirt.

I'd be delighted to see this matched with a pre-92 XI. Bluebeard?

I always liked Bosnich and rated him highly. I seem to remember him putting in a world class performance against Villa a few years ago and then getting stretchered off with a thigh injury.

Is there such a thing as 'medical cocaine'?

That would probably be the sort of cocaine that actually had cocaine in it, as opposed to cockroach powder, dog de-worming powder or ketamin.

Just say 'no' kids

haha

It's a real shame he let himself get into that. Topic title says it all.

Bloody hell, Mike, that's a difficult one! I've been trying to come up with some names, but haven't had a lot of luck - maybe there were just a lot fewer arseholes playing for Chelsea back then -_-

I think it's true to say that not many Chelsea players in the mid 70s to the Hoddle era 'had it all' at Chelsea. Apart from a couple of years under John Neal it wasn't really a club that was in the big time. Plenty of players moved on to 'better themselves' but it has always been a source of relief to me that hardly any of them ever did. Think of Tommy Langley and Mick Fillery leaving us for QPR, Durie going to Spuds, Townsend going to Villa, Garry Stanley and Pat Nevin going to Everton, Speedie going to Coventry, Steve Wicks going to Derby and QPR (can't recall the order). We can forgive Cundy's move to Spuds as he never wanted it.

Wilkins and Spackman did OK and won trophies after they left, but not many of the others did..

This of course raises Bluebeard's next topic of a Chelsea Judas XI.

  1. ?
  2. ?
  3. ?
    INSERT TOWNSEND, DURIE, POYET

On 4 February 2009, Dalla Bona announced that he had left Napoli and was hoping to train with West Ham United in order to secure a permanent contract under former Chelsea team-mate Gianfranco Zola.[11] Dalla Bona announced he had rejected an offer from tredwell Serie B side Triestina because of this. He failed to secure a contact however and after another unsuccessful training spell with Fulham, he returned to Napoli.

Thanks for that . Shame really he was shaping up to be a quality player

he would have to go down in the most under-achieving 11, or "failed to meet expectation" starting 11. Was it Boro he scored that cracker against in the 90th minute....thought something good was coming there?

Also, I realize I put Durie in the wrong thread! He didn't have himself to blame for anything other than being a cu**
