ace Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 Just a little friendly game for the FIFA players here to try and come up with potential ratings of our boys for the next installment of the game. - Will Lamps be criminally underrated again? (Every year it seems they're waiting for him to grow too old and stop being good) - How will Anelka winning the golden boot affect his rating? - Same with Malouda's form under Hiddink Tentative: Cech - 88 Cole - 86 Terry - 88 Alex - 84 Bosingwa - 83 Riccy C - 81 (Pains me to write that) Ivanovic - 79 Essien - 86 Mikel - 82 Belletti - 77 Lampard - 87 Ballack - 83 J. Cole - 82 Deco - 82 Malouda - 84 Zhirkov - 83 Sturridge - 76 Drogba - 87 Anelka - 85 Kalou - 81 No idea about Mancienne, Franco, etc. I probably overestimated too many of them, but oh well. It'll be interesting to see if some of our bigger name players who don't always perform continue to get good ratings (Ballack, Deco).
Maksimov Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 - Will Lamps be criminally underrated again? (Every year it seems they're waiting for him to grow too old and stop being good) I know this is off topic, but I seem to recall that Lampard at least used to be great in Pro Evo. It's been a few years since I've played it, though.
Eggy McMuffin Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 Cech - 86 Cole - 87 Terry - 86 Alex - 82 Bosingwa - 81 Riccy C - 81 Ivanovic - 80 Essien - 89 Mikel - 84 Belletti - 77 Lampard - 88 Ballack - 81 J. Cole - 83 Deco - 79 Malouda - 84 Zhirkov - 82 Sturridge - 78 Drogba - 88 Anelka - 84 Kalou - 81 Hilario - 76 Turnbull - 77 That's my tentative guess, although if I had it my way Essien would be at about 99 and Drogba, Lampard, Terry and Cole would be close... but that's just me being biased. I don't think that will be too far away though, maybe Lampard a little lower, but yeah. I think that's about it.

It's been a few years since I've played it, though. I haven't played Pro Evo in awhile, but in FIFA this last year using the live online update every week, Lamps was a straight beast. A good portion of the season had him at 92-95 rating, so it was almost unfair being able to hit shots from so far out.
ace Posted July 16, 2009 Author Posted July 16, 2009 In reply to Maksimov, I feel like your Ballack and Deco ratings are spot on but I feel like FIFA overrates players of their magnitude (see coverboy Ronaldinho). I also feel like I underrated Essien, I'd guess maybe 88 and take Cech down to 87 I guess, not sure if we'd have three 88s.

I probably did over rate Drogba really, but yeah, I'm a big fan of his. As for Deco and Ballack, I know they're big names, but surely even EA can see that they've not been up to much... well hopefully, but I guess you can't expect too much from them.

Haha sorry Eggy, scrolled up and saw Mak's name I guess. And yeah, maybe it'll be like Sheva, who was a 79 last year I think...can't keep overrating him forever. As for Drogba, I feel that as a 5 star team, FIFA has to have a star striker on all of those teams, so Drogba will likely have a pretty nice rating, unless they want to make it more of a package deal and give Anelka-Drogba 85-86 and Malouda 84-85. PloKoon13 Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 I don't play Fifa, so I can't really comment on the stats. However, I always got annoyed that Lampard's stats weren't as high on Gerrard's on Pro Evo, so I 'altered' them somewhat.

ace Posted July 16, 2009 Author Posted July 16, 2009 Anymore I just assume that Stevie G will always be +1 OVR on Lamps in games. Sucks but it's what happens. What is annoying in FIFA is that when you change a player's stats, the announcer no longer says their names. '06 used to let you do that and I always liked editing players (not just CFC) to reflect how they were doing. When I played 06 a year later (before I bought 07) I'm pretty sure I switched Drogba and Sheva's overalls to make it more accurate for that season. Anyways, what I hope for this season of FIFA is that some of our youngsters are "Hidden gems", I was a little disappointed in this year's version to still be loaning Mancienne, Stoch, Kakuta out after 3 seasons because they still weren't making big enough improvement. I do remember being able to start using Ivanovic a lot, as well as Franco....now that I think about it, the most important thing EA can do is making it so manager modes stop freezing at a certain point haha.
sals Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 football manager 2009 has some ridiculous stats for lamps. Got 11 for corners and 13 or something for free kicks. Gerrard does have 11 for penalties though i think which was funny
jordanl5182 Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Cech - 87 Cole - 86 Terry - 86 Alex - 83 Bosingwa - 82 Riccy C - 82 Mancienne - 75 Ivanovic - 80 Essien - 89 Mikel - 83 Belletti - 78 Lampard - 88 Ballack - 85 J. Cole - 82 Deco - 83 Malouda - 84 Zhirkov - 82 Sturridge - 77 Drogba - 85 Anelka - 85 Kalou - 80 Hilario - 76 Turnbull - 77 Wonder if Zhirkov will be faster than Malouda?!
ace Posted July 21, 2009 Author Posted July 21, 2009 So I was playing FIFA 08 on PS2 the other day (at my cabin, not my house) and wow, Ashley was a 78? I guess I didn't notice as much because I used to go through my seasons playing 3 CB's since JT, Alex, and Riccy are all so highly rated. Sure, Ash's first season for us wasn't as brilliant as this year, but man, 78 seems a tad harsh, especially when Ballack was still an 85 and Sheva was still an 84.
Maksimov Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Wonder if Zhirkov will be faster than Malouda?! I don't see why he wouldn't be, unless they're absolutely clueless at EA.
jordanl5182 Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 He's currently rated 82 for acceleration I think...not sure about sprint though...I think Malouda's similar
Virosh Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Just saw this thread, giving it my take : Cech - 89 Cole - 84 Terry - 89 Alex - 85 Bosingwa - 83 Riccy C - 83 Mancienne - 75 (and growing fast) Ivanovic - 80 (and growing fast) Essien - 87 Mikel - 83 Belletti - 78 Lampard - 86 Ballack - 83 J. Cole - 86 Deco - 81 Malouda - 85 Zhirkov - 84 Sturridge - 78 (and growing fast) Drogba - 88 Anelka - 85 Kalou - 80 Hilario - 72 Turnbull - 75
moi Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 (edited) How delicious! I'm going to have to go and make myself a late-night slice of toast. (and I may have to search for a picture of Eggy in a kilt!) PS In case there's any doubt, my comment was in response to maksimov's lovely picture of an eggy muffin Edited July 26, 2009 by moi
ChelseaYankee Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 (edited) All I have to say is they don't know how to rate players at all. If I remember correctly, they made Messi one of the faster players in the game. Even faster than Kaka. That midget isn't that fast, sorry. I feel like they low ball us anyway. Cech - 85 A Cole - 82 Terry - 84 Alex - 85 Bosingwa - 80 Riccy C - 82 Ivanovic - 78 Essien - 85 Mikel - 81 Belletti - 77 Lampard - 84 Ballack - 81 J. Cole - 81 Deco - 82 Malouda - 83 Zhirkov - 82 Sturridge - 78 Drogba - 86 Anelka - 84 Kalou - 81 Hilario - 76 Turnbull - 77 Di Santo - 78 Sheva - 80 EDIT: Messi smelling Kaka farts as Kaka goes coast to coast for a score on Argentina: Edited July 26, 2009 by ChelseaYankee

ace Posted August 19, 2009 Author Posted August 19, 2009 It appears that Lamps has replaced Ronaldinho as EA's golden boy, Amazon's graphic for FIFA 10 has Super Frank on the cover.
Morpheus Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 i was disappointed in kakuta's improvement levels and the level they had given him in the first place. hopefully next year they will make him better.
