Chelsea's 2009/10 squad numbers have been announced.

Among those here before, it is as you were, while new boys Yuri Zhirkov, Ross Turnbull and Daniel Sturridge will all wear the numbers they have worn in our pre-season matches.

Agreed, we need another Osgood, Dixon or Sutton to fill that once famous number.

Half of those have one maybe two seasons left in them, if that, and a couple of those have already passed their display until date. With few if any youngsters coming through I hope Roman is making money again

Too true!

Let's hope that the youngsters who are out on loan this season do well, and learn enough to be given their chance at Chelsea the following year. I'd love it if the likes of Bertrand, Cork, Sinclair and di Santo, etc, were to eventually make the grade in the Chelsea first team - I won't be holding my breath though.

How comes Drogba's never wanted the number 9 shirt?

It would have to be 4.5 max though, who the f**k is ever going to be anything like as half as good as Osgood, or the others, bar Sutton
