February 9, 201016 yr I've watched Sherlock Holmes with my girlfriend. She didn't enjoy, because it was quite brutal, but I enjoyed it very much! :)
February 9, 201016 yr Watched Law Abiding Citizen this weekend. Decent flick...one time watch. A kind of film you'd like to watch when you are really pissed at someone or something. :) That seems more suffice, I thought it was a very, very poor film.
February 10, 201016 yr Just watched In The Loop. It was a very interesting and quite funny political movie.
February 10, 201016 yr Stride, I hope you'll update us on your progress through the Hitchcock boxset. Esp 1945 forward... For the rest of you, these analyses are fascinating, and impressive for overall intelligence. :) I imagine the ManU site has a thread like this where they dissect the merits of Chuck Norris and Sylvester Stallone films. February 11, 201016 yr There will be blood Thought it was excellent, never lost my attention - great story, script and cinematograhy No drippy romance stuff either Loved it
February 11, 201016 yr and a fantastic performance form Daniel Day Lewis. Didnt know his name, but you're right - his performance was brilliant, totally convincing.
February 11, 201016 yr I watched 'The Damned United' yesterday, brought back lots of memories. I thought Michael Sheen and Colin Meaney were excellent as Brian Clough and Don Revie respectively. while Timothy Spall did well as Peter Taylor. Having said that, none of the 'players' resembled anything like the real thing with the possible exception of Brian McCardie as Dave Mackay. All in all though, a very enjoyable film, especially for those of us who remember the events and people. Good acting, along with occasional pieces of archive footage of the real thing, the movie didn't really depict anybody in a good light which is as it should be. Recommended to anyone who loves football, and guaranteed to make anyone hate Leeds even more than they already do!
February 20, 201016 yr Just watched Rise of the Footsolder, brilliant movie and the fact that its based on a true story makes it even better! If you havnt seen it you should go and watch it right now. 4/5.

February 20, 201016 yr Watched Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs this week. The funniest animation I've ever seen, no word of a lie.
February 23, 201016 yr Borat A few staged funnies but glad I didnt pay to go to the cinema - £2 from Lovefilm - about what it was worth
February 23, 201016 yr I went to see Avatar the other day and it looked very impressive, but the story wasn't very good. It was fun to watch once, but nothing more.
February 23, 201016 yr Watched "O Lucky Man!" the other day, first time in over 30 years. Brilliant film, a kind of sequel to "If...", starring Malcolm McDowell, made just a couple of years after "Clockwork Orange". A very black comedy, with most of the "If..." cast appearing in different guises during the movie. Musical interludes by Alan Price are enjoyable, and fit in well. Over three hours long, I'd highly recommend this film to anyone with a good or warped sense of humour. Being of a certain age and British might help you to understand the film more, but give it a go anyway!
February 23, 201016 yr watched "Youth In Revolt" the other day excellent film. not hilariously funny all the way through but Michael Cera is brilliant in it. well worth a watch

February 23, 201016 yr Oh yes, Starship Troopers, err, 2 and Starship Troopers, err, 3. I assume they're just as "good" as the Robocop sequels.
