Yes, Adamson was a tragic loss. The weird thing about their debut album was that they left the title track off it - apparently it was too long. It was released at the time on one of their 12-inch singles (Chance) which a college mate bought, and it's a cracker, with Adamson's guitar prominent and a great bass line and great drumming. Can barely understand a word he sings, though: Counting Crows also didn't include the title track on their debut album. They included the lyrics on the cover, but only recorded it a couple of years ago, with the London Symphony Orchestra:
