January 7, 20215 yr I saw the Dave Brubeck Quartet back in the early eighties. A superb concert. Edited January 7, 20215 yr by Boyne
January 13, 20215 yr A great piece of music. As an aside I thought the film wasn't a very good adaptation of James Fenimore Cooper's book. The TV series of the early seventies is a much better adaptation. In the book Uncas rather than Hawkeye has a relationship with Cora and the British officer, Hayward isn't killed. David is also not in the film. In the TV series Philip Madoc plays Magua. Saying that there are some great scenic shots in the film.
January 14, 20215 yr Not music, but I've been really enjoying listening to the Fall of Civilizations podcast. Each episode is about an hour or two long and covers the fall of a different civilization, such as the Romans in Britain, the Mayans, and the Greenland Vikings that just seemed to disappear without trace. My entire knowledge of many of the civilizations covered came from playing the Civilization computer games, so I've learnt a lot.

Am especially interested in the one about the Mayans.
