We were really close to the stage, just below where Pete Townshend was, but his footlights completely obscured a lot of the stage. I literally couldn't see Keith Moon at all until he jumped over his drum kit at the end. I couldn't see anything on the right side of the stage behind Townshend, so when the synthesiser played the opening of Baba O' Reilly I just assumed there was a keyboard player there, and I guessed it was Nicky Hopkins, who played a lot on Who"'s Next. After the gig one of my brother's mates told me there was no keyboard player, and he felt cheated as it was obvious they'd used backing tapes Many years later I discovered the intro to Baba O' Reilly was not played by Nicky Hopkins but by Townshend.
