Why on earth is he still playing for us?

I know there was plenty of our players that went

missing tonight but surely he shouldn't be in the starting eleven.

Mate, as much as it pains me to say it,

we were totally outclassed.

Also, Lampard was awful, world class player? Do

me a favour. World class players are people like

Xavi, Iniesta, Ronaldo, Messi....not him.

Normally I join any rant against Ballack. However tonight there are far worse players out there - Anelka, Lampard. The fact we completely lost it after Ballack was gone showed he actually did something right.

Agreed with icecoolguy, this was not all on Ballack. In fact, I think we lost shape when Cole came on. His first step was well of pace, and he just ran around spreading himself out trying to make up for either losing the ball or being out of position.

Ancelotti taking Ballack off was the beginning of the end for us. He was stopping so many of their attacks and afterwards starting ours that when he was taken off for a player as defensively lax as Joe Cole, they were allowed to break through. Ballack was good today, better than most of our team.

Really?

Ballack was what he has been all season............................ a bit pants. A bit slow pants.

But to be fair he wasn't alone. Lampard is half the player he was and Joe Cole did nothing when he came on to suggest he is worthy of a regular start.

Big re-building job for Ancelotti. Personally I'd spare Mikel, yes really. Sorry Liam and BJD. And as we all know, Essien strolls into any midfield in any team on the planet. But the rest....................................

I think he's shouldered a lot of Makelele's legacy. He does the same in that he 'takes one for the team' with various tackles and moves to snuff out attacks in perhaps slightly physical manners. Obviously Mikel was never going to be the player Maka was, but between him and Ballack they can just about snuff the pores. Conceding one goal to an attack with Milito and Eto'o in it, especially considering we were playing with our third-choice goalkeeper and centre back and our second choice right back and left back, is nothing to sniff at. I think it was about five minutes after he went off and was replaced with the ever-disappointing Joe Cole that we completely lost our shape and defensive spine.

Mikel is playing rather well since he came back from his injury.

Anelka has shown he is quality, have to admit he plays very dire lately.

Agree about Ballack and Joe.

Well as a holding midfielder with Lampard/Ballack/Essien in front of you scoring isnt really needed. He can keep the ball and he holds his position. He also seems quite calm when he faces pressure and I think with some experience he could grow into a very good player.

[Mikel] never score

he make mistakes

Makelele never scored (or at least rarely) and was no Dennis Rommedahl. The only difference is that Mikel makes the odd mistake, which is something which will occur less and less frequently with more experience. To be fair to him, he's got a lot to live up to; the only time Makelele made a mistake was the time he thought he had made a mistake.

the team was in bad shape,

they played as a very tired man. they keep losing easy chances,

yesterday i was happy for one thing, i see our players pressing the refree for every single foul

and to me this is what i asked for since our semi-final vs barca

the players must do what others do, go to the ref and talk to him, after each foul the should talk

to the ref in hard time,

only this

there are a lot of things that we are here in saudi arabia talk about it:

1- why do not the player play in cold moves. i mean they are not playing for the team

we feel the players are playing becuase they have to. we need at least four or five players play as terry

with spirit. they have to play as a chelsea lovers.

2- we all saw how inter fans destroyed the Giuseppe Meazza by thier cheer, why we do not hear like what

they did at that match always we shy we do not cheer our team, really we want to shake our enemy in our

ground

3- we thinks that abramovic put chelsea in stress becuase he mintioned many time that we want the champions league and he sent mourinho out becuase he did not get the champions league and he bring guus for th same reason also he bring carlo for the same reason, why.

this but chelsea in bad stress. abramo. should not do this or even say that, leave the team play free, by your sayings you put chelsea in stress.

i have a lot to say but i am really tired, i lose my voice yesterday beacuase of our miss chances

really, i lose my mind when chelsea lose any match :(

Ballack went off, game changed! Just saying.

Well apart from the last five minutes of the first half, I did not see any change throughout the game.

You don't think we gave them that little bit extra room without Ballack on the pitch?

Not really Mod no. We simply swopped one poor player who looked well off the pace of the game for another. We had no-one in our midfield who was capable of carrying the ball at his feet and driving at the Inter back line. The ball was like hot potato to Ballack, Lampard and Cole when he came on. Malouda and Zhirkov were our only outlet going forwards.

Posted

I guess it was due to us going all out for the goal in the final half an hour or so that they got a bit of extra room. Pretty obvious, I'd say, in situations like these.

Plus one million, he was holding the midfield together and it really showed.

f**k knows why people are choosing the Inter game of all games for an anti Ballack rant
