since carlo brought in fitness coaches from Milan which is designed to prolong careers and superior fitness, alot of players out injured long term which includes youngsters and reserves and our first team is it the new training regime? it may of worked in a italy which is a slower game? i just think the pace of our game does not fit into this so called super milan lab. its a joke.........

it's been like that for years now, since we last won the title actually.

not like this season the players are dropping like flies and the constant change in managers and different training styles have f**ked alot of players up but this season is awful if you look at the first squad and go to our youth team alot of injuries some could end careers like the young lad that won football idol broke into our resies and his knee popped could be it for the lad and he looked the jt type player its a shame..

Milan lab is not just the staff. Its the equipment and techniques at their Milanello complex in Italy. I doubt that Carlo brought all that along with him

Cant explain the youth injuries, but I would point to the fact that our squad is getting older

is that the same reason we had very similar injuries last season, and the season before that?

I think weve had more long term injuries to key players this season, 2 of the best full backs in football, the best midfielder in the league, and goalkeepers 1, 2 and 4 injured at the same time.

This Milan fan says the Milan lab treated Robben and Beckham's long term injury. Can anyone confirm it?

In fairness, this could be a part of the Anti-Carlo agenda that has sprung up this week after our shocking performances last week. It could be the Milan lab form of training and rehab but sometimes you just get unlucky with injuries and it's perhaps been that way this year.

One thing it could also have to do with is our older squad. Obviously injuries to Essien and Ivanovic and Cole are exceptions, but the various niggles that have put Lamps and Ballack and Carvalho amongst others out for a few weeks at a time could be attributed to the fact that they are a little older. That said I supppose those aren't the injuries we are really concerned about.

It's just our best players are very unlucky with injury and/or made of galss, nothing to do with Ancelotti/Milan lab type methods. Wouldn't be such a problem if we could replace quality with quality mind, but we have awful back up players which places greater stress on the first team members and why they end up with serious injuries.

They must have mixed wrong chemicals in that lab once it had reached London because we look like a team that runs out of steam in the first half hour. I noticed that unless we score enough in that period of time to be safe, we are likely heading for trouble.

i'm not saying we moved milan lab ovr here :D i'm saying carlo brought the coaches and staff, and i'm not having a pop at carlo just saying i dont think this style of training and fitness is suited to the pace of the league. And the coach's and fitness staff do help out and advise the youth team and ressies!!!

I tend to agree with cbb, the levels of fitness at the club seem to have dropped since the season started. Last time that was noticeable was when Scolari was in charge and the players were never match fit. Hiddink seemed to sort that out, but now we're back at square one.

I'm not talking about injuries so much as general fitness - look how long it's taking Joey to get back to fitness. Actually, I reckon Joey should have been given a fair run in the reserves to get fit again before returning to the first team.

Fitness was a concern back in the late 70's too, when Danny Blanchflower was in charge. By his own admission he didn't have a clue, the squad was permanently knackered and we ended up getting relegated. Obviously I'm not saying that's going to happen again, but the warning signs are very similar.

Wasn't that more to do with alcohol consumption?
