Never looked the bloke he was when he first came, definitely got to go this summer. We have enough back up in Alex, Mancienne, Ivanovic and Bruma.

Atleast we've got something to blame on if we concede too many goals.

Injuries on:

Riccy

Ivan

Boss

Yury

Ash

Cech

Hilario

Essien (well he do help our defence doesn't he?)

What's next, Alex and JT both try to head the same ball and goes down with concussions? :JC_doubledown:

Shame for Riccy so close to the end of season, but we have Alex and there isn't much getting past him!

We're down to the bare bones in our defense.

If any one of Terry,Alex,Ferreira and Zhirkov gets injured or suspended in the next four weeks, we'll have to start playing our reserves.

to be honest i would trust Bruma to step up if need be, i honestly think he could handle playing in the prem now.

On the positive side there, Sam Hutchinson played 45 minutes in the reserves. If it hadn't been for that knee this could have been a good season for him. I just hope it holds up next year.

I wish I had your confidence, dkw.

With a run-in we have the last thing we need is starting youngsters at the back.

You left out Belletti.

Where's ben Haim when you need him?

Is Hutchinson fit to play?

Sam is getting back to fitness and should be available in a few weeks. What I saw of Van Aanholt was very encouraging indeed and we can look at him/ Bertrand to play the role of 2nd choice LB in the coming season.

Shame that this could spell the end of his tenure at CFC

Its strange to see these reactions on Riccy, he is the preffered partner to JT and Carlo plays him ahead of Alex in most games. I dont think he will be sold in the summer considering Carlo prefers experiece over potential in defence.

Fully agree with you, the lad is ready to step up

He hasn't really been first choice this season,he's been in and out with injuries.

18 months ago i'd say 99% of fans wiuld have had JT and Riccy as their starting defenders, now i'd guess it is close to 50/50 between Riccy and Alex.

JT has also been very public in his praise for Alex in recent weeks, maybe he too is noticing the decline in Riccy.

With injuries taking their toll, and the likelihood that one senior DC will need to make way for the emergence of Bruma,it will more than likely be Riccy in the summer, and fr him personally I think he will gain more longevity from his career by making a move to Italy/Spain this summer.

He has been an incredible player for the club but it may suit all parties to go their seperate ways at the end of the season.

Really? As far as my memory serves me right - It is Alex that has been out injured right through this season. So if Alex indeed wants to gain the #1 pairing with JT he needs to be fit.

Praising a player does not mean he believes that the other man next to him is inferior. As far as our defence is concerned its JT's form that is of concern to me when compared to Ricardo. As far as Bruma is concerned - are you serious ? I mean would you place him ahead of Hutchinson and Mancienne ?

I still believe that Ricardo will be here in the coming season because from what I have known of Carlo he prefers experience in defence.

too right i would, especially above Mancienne who hasnt impressed me enough to be anywhere near our defence.

I think Alex is slowly but surely nudging himself ahead of Riccy as #1 partner for JT.

As far as Bruma goes,I believe he is streets and miles ahead of Mancienne despite being a couple of years younger.Hutchinson will ease into the squad as a full-back imo, whether he later moves into the middle i'm not sure.

Both will be involved in the first team squad a lot next year imo,I don't ever see Mancienne doing that to be honest.
