The situation could be that when Portugal play Brazil 25 June- final match in the group, the winner could end up playing Spain in the next round, whilst the loser would play either Switzerland or Chile.

Got to hand it to the Swiss and their manager Hitzfeld. They played excellent defensive football and utilised the counter to their advantage. I don't understand why Spain played two defensive midfielders, Alonso and Busquets and left Fabregas on the bench. Despite today's result I still believe Spain will make it out of this group.

Great win for Uruguay. Diego Forlan is proving to be the best player so far in the competition. Looking forward to the France/Mexico game tomorrow.

Well done to the Swiss. It's difficult to feel any sympathy for a Spanish team made up with Barca and Real players, not surprsing their manager blame opposition's tacticis after the loss. Forlan is all class, thankfully he's not coming back to EPL anytime soon.

That was probably one of the best days of the world cup so far yesterday. I was really impressed by the performances Chile and Uruguay in their respective games. Congratulations also to Switzerland on a sensational win against the European Champions Spain. They were brilliant and should have won 2-0.

Yesterday was a great match day imho. Chile looked solid and got a well deserved win. The shocker of the day was obviously the Swiss victory over Spain. Did they deserve it? Absolutely. What a match played by the Swiss. Their defense is rock solid. Spain had the possession but never really had the threat.

Uruguay looked great against, honestly, an average South African team. With that said, they did their job and look like a solid threat come the knockout stage. Forlan has looked brilliant.

2nd games are now upon us. For some teams, it's make or break time!
