Should we go for him? I could see him being a Ancelotti type of holding midfielder. Mascherano, Essien and Lampard is a formidable midfield. Mikel as backup wouldn't be bad either.

i would hate to see Mascherano in a Chelsea shirt.

however, if he leaves Anfield i'm pretty sure he'll want to go abroad, probably to Spain.

I'd take Mascherano with open arms, one of the best tacklers in the league.

Even if he is a prick, so what :)

I can handle us signing Benayoun from Liverpool.

I could just about handle signing Torres from Liverpool.

But taking THREE from Liverpool? We'd be scarred for life.

Seriously though....if I could chose one player to punch in the head...I would ask to punch more...but punch Mascherano regardless

Probably the most over rated midfielder about. He is a defensive midfielder who isn't too good at tackling.

He also looks like a gimp.

I will egg his house if he signs for us.

latest reports have Mascherano wanting to go to Inter or Barcelona. which is no real surprise. there's an article in the Mail if anyone's interested.

Great player and just what we need and is on a different level to any defensive midfield options we currently have.

Yes he is a little c**t but one good tackle in his first game and he would soon win people over.

Football fans can be very fickle, remember Ashley Cole?

Anyway, I agree he is likely to end up in Spain.

Mascherano is the best defensive midfielder in the Premiiership. I understand he has expressed a desire to go to Spain.

Those who despise him need not worry as it's unlikely he'll be coming to the Bridge!

Masceherano is the player we should have signed from West Ham when we knew Makalele only had another season in him. I never understand why people think he is an average player. Yes he can be a nasty piece of work but so could a sackload of Chelsea players of days gone by.

If he signed for us I am 100% convinced his popularity with Chelsea fans would take the same route as Ashley Cole's has.

He would be our new Dennis Wise if he ever signed (which he won't). Probably even make as much sense as Dennis when he spoke too.

Yes, opinions change over time, but at the moment he is that gobby rat who plays for the bin dippers. He IS good at what he does, but he also gives away a ton of fouls, and too regularly goes over the top and loses his head.

I said the same thing about Ashley Cole, but I would really hate to see him play for us. Thats how I feel today.

And a hearty HAHA at how much he wants to get out. Hopefully they get conned by Inter. Cmon Javier, whine a little more and drive that price down.
