The obvious one, I think, is Emerson Thome in for Ben Haim. And also Derek Smethurst (born South Africa) in for Di Santo.

And Smertin's not a fullback, although it's hard to think of a replacement offhand

If Romania and Russia don't count as European countries, then surely Finland doesn't either and then I would put Forssell ahaead of Di Santo. He did more at Chelsea(in Chelsea blue and while on loan)than young Franco has done so far since he joined us. If not for anything else, but for THAT FA Cup performance against Oxford.

I'm still struggling to get round the decision to class Russia as non-European - parts of the old USSR are in Asia, but to my knowledge Russia is and always has been entirely East European. And there's no question about Rumania. Mark Bosnich will definitely do in goal. Great keeper before he screwed up. Colin Viljoen was a good player in his day but was at the tail end of his career when we signed him.

Also Marcel Desailly was born in Ghana so has to be included, either at the back or in midfield.

There is an obvious reason we overlooked Kalou, Geremi, Babyaro...also Essien, Drogba, Mikel for that matter. Africa is one of the areas we're not looking at haha

Nah, I can see why some people COULD consider Russia in Asia, seeing as the majority of it is... I still consider it in Europe as wikipedia says so...
